@@Professoar Hey man, I have a quick question if you've got the time. I've noticed when i'm using the joystick thingy to change the pitch of notes, sometimes it triggers something else to happen as if its linked to that something (But I never link it to anything). For example. I was just about to shift the pitch of some piano notes i was playing, and right when i moved the joy stick one of my mixer volumes lowered as if it was linked to the joystick controller. I then right-click my the volume to reset the link to controller thingy. But it still does the same thing. Weird, cuz it wasn't doing this just a few moments ago... Any idea what I did/am doing wrong? Anyway, i hope this makes sense man! thanks for your time 😅

@@moneyslim80 This happened to me too after I forgot to close out of the MPK editor. After I did & relaunched FL worked fine again. Remember to edit editor as administrator. :)

Dude, this has been beyond amazing! I started reading the manual that came with FL like it was 1992, and quickly realized that this was going to be a very long journey via method. I still might burn through it, but between this and other tutorials, it all seems less overwhelming. These programs are so complex, there's near no possible way to intuitively learn them. But the power...

You definitely deserve WAY more recognition for this. Funny a couple of months ago I saw a similar video, however dude was selling the template and kinda keeping the technique secret. I would've paid him but I didn't have a debit card atm. I randomly come across your video looking for reviews on the mpk249 ( I plan on upgrading because I wanted more functionality and keys), and dude you covered everything... Dude...your awesome!!! Thank you for this wonderful tut. I just connected my mpk mini and I use to hit piano roll and play my harmless.. Now I get nothing... Think you can explain why I'm having this issue. Also I use to just push keys on my mpk mini to record my kick thru piano roll and now it won't record onto piano roll. I just downloaded FL-20 then connected my mpk mini. Same as your mpk on tut. Thanks for your help bro.

Have a problem at 10:25 when doing the map layout, the pads on the FPC show that am pressing 2 pads when am pressing one. The second pad is the one that lights up in the same place it would light up in the other bank

pretty helpful tutorial, still can't get both drums and synth to work simultaneously. I've got both selected and their numbers are set to 1 and 2, but when both are selected the drumpads control the first thing that was turned on and the keys do nothing. not sure why this is happening, any help would be appreciated.

@@JanuaryGetsCold I had the same issue. In the beginning of the video when you open up the "MPK Mini Editor" you HAVE to make sure to exit off of it. If you have FL Studio and the Editor open at the same time it won't allow you to select options and/or set it up. Make sure to exit off the editor web page and you will be good to go. You can ONLY have FL open.

Whenever I try to do the midi settings in FL studio at 7:05 and I click send to master synch
I get the error:
Error from midi driver: The specified device is already in use.
Then followed up by:
There is not enough memory to complete this task, quit some applications and try again.
When I open my task manage though... only about 25% of my 16gb of ram is being utilized?

I think I know what your problem is. Try setting up the numbers as seen on 15:27 left of "Harmless" and "Default".
Since "Harmless" here is the keyboard and "Default" are the drum pads, note that the keyboard should always be set on "1" and the drums on "2" if you are using some other plugins or instruments. Hope it helps!

Reformed Father Go on the MPK mini application thingy then look at the bottom & find "Pad Midi Channel"switch to 2 and make sure the arpeggiator isn't on

my piano/synth isnt seperated from the pad, the piano sounds will go on the pad
I had the same problem.
Just go to channel rack,and simply select both your drums and your synth with that green rectangle thing.

Hey man great video, I was able to set it up like youve done it but for some reason when i hit the pad more frequently they become more quiet or less pitched ?
ooo that's because you "Full Level" option on or off, that will effect how hard they sound when you hit them :)
I can't for the life of me figure out how to make my pads do the drums and my keys do the notes. I followed your instructions scrupulously; I set the values exactly as you did on the editor then made sure to "send to ram" and then I set my drum and piano to channel 1 and 2, and still I only am able to preform number 1. Can anybody help me out?

do you have both sound generators highlighted when you attempt to play? :o
I had the same problem... I fixed it by right clicking on 'Harmless', then by clicking 'Receive notes from' in the drop-down menu (on the right), select MPKII Mini and from the drop-down menu choose Channel 1. Do the same for FPC, but choose Channel 2. Now you should be able to play drums and keypad simultaneously.

If you're trying to set this up in 2020 and can't quite figure it out; please make sure you're getting the editor for the MPK Mini MKIII. The software bundled with the MPK essentials is the editor for the MKIII :)
