What a cool list full of great companies! I started this company based on having an allergy to fragrance oils, so this means a lot to me. So glad you and others are enjoying our creations. Jill is the mad genius working with all of our scents. Thank you for the list Dan!
Awesome indeed! In a community full of such incredibly generous and talented owners, to stand out like Nick and Jill do is quite an accomplishment. If you want to try an essential oil there is no better place to start.
Appreciate being including among other great companies @DanC! We are continuing to create other amazing scents that are crafted with essential oils. Thank you to everyone that continues to support our creativity! 💪🏽🧔🏻♂️
Winter Solstice! What an honor to be on this list along side these other amazing companies! Excellent video as always Dan, love the breakdown in the beginning. 👊
I got The Wizard and I love the scent of it. I’m big on tobacco scents and I enjoy that one. I’ll have to try out Winter Solstice to change up my scent profile preference.
It's insane to look back a year ago at how limited the options for essential oil only beard products were compared to now. I remember emailing you asking for suggestions because the only options I was aware of at the time were Doctor Nicks, Artius Man and Honest Amish. While I've come to love both essential oils and fragrance, I prefer the natural benefits and light scent to essential oils. Coming from someone who used Doctor Nick's for the majority of last year, their carrier is the best feel in beard i've ever experienced. The 8-bit classic essential oil blend is incredible, don't sleep on it. I've been using it off and on since it dropped. Almost through a jar of Inky butter. Ghost Hunter, Pinky and Clyde are all wonderful. Feel in beard is top tier. Honest Amish, the OG still rules too. When I combine their oil with Doctor Nicks butter at night, the feel in beard is unmatched. The two essential oil options I'm most excited to try next are Top Hat, Captain Save A Beard and the Cold Start from Beard Octane. It excites me to see essential oil options THRIVING!
PINKY!!!! Awesome vid!!!! I am loving the all natural line more and more daily. Used to love the hot and heavy scents but love the all natural scents and how they fade. Great list of companies.
Love the video! Seems in the last year Essentials have BLOWN UP! So awesome to see. I have found I MUCH prefer the lighter scents of essentials over fragrances. Something I hadn’t noticed until trying some fragrance oils in the last month! Love the video and the companies getting into Essentials!
Certainly some fan favorites I was expecting to appear on a list like this, but I was excited to hear about some newcomers topping the charts! Hope I get the chance to check out all of them. Thank you Dan for another awesome and informative video! 🙌🏼
Been privileged to try a good number on the list and look forward to trying the ones I haven't yet. Cold Start by Octane, Dr. Nick's, and 8 bit are probably my favorite. I appreciate Essential Oil blends because due to working in an office environment, I don't want scents that are too strong to offend others.
Great info Dan! I prefer essential oils most of the time and switch to fragrance oils when I'd like a more cologne-y type of scent that will last longer. After a stripping wash day or I need to add oil overnight it is essential oils every time. Nothing gets my beard feeling and styling as good and as quickly as essential oils. My go-to essential oils are from Doctor Nick's and I don't see that ever changing. From the quality of their products, the effort Nick and Jill put in to everything they do, and their incredible generosity and sense of community. Their oils make my beard feel great and I feel great supporting them. IPA - fresh hops and pine and the citrus, lime zest and pine scents are 2 of my absolute favorites.
I use both essential and fragrance oils . Recently, I have discovered the essential oil blends feel much better in my beard. Also the thinner viscosities are working much better lately. I'm really loving the dead man beard company. I have revived and refresh and psychedelic elixir. I absolutely love everyone that I have tried. I also have the invigoration by artius man. I absolutely love it.
@oifbrewer heck yeah, I do love their oils! I just haven’t used in probably well over a year. For sure worth a revisit. Another great Canadian option. Thanks for the recommendation and reminder Michael!

Essential all day, good experience with multiple Dr Nicks, 8bit , Grindstone Accelerator and looking forward to Beard Octane Cold Start on the way (Thanks Holley!). Ive liked some none essentials scents but my skin cannot handle it, i can layer it in (unscented rubbed into skin and fragrance coating the outside) but there is still some risk although once or twice a week is fine, but stick to none or essential oil fragrance more often because outside of allergies usually seems to style with heat a bit better for me. I still need to try Pinky!

For Canadians: Sea Wench Naturals and Baarden. I especially like the feel-in-beard of Sea Wench, which I discovered while visiting the west coast. It's $16 CAD for two ounces! In addition to their beard oil, they also have a "Mega hair oil" which works well for beards. It's heavier but extremely nourishing. Great for twice weekly. Baarden has decent scents for essential-oil scented products. Their wash is fantastic.
Guys, I think Dan likes mint! Great video Dan! I freaking love peppermint rosemary, and cold start! Definitely still have to try out the other ones. I really love that more companies are creating EO fragrances, even though they are slightly more work.

Now, I do have to be mindful of where I’m going to be and doing when I’m there so I choose scents that are long lasting but pleasant to be around and not to distracting.
Oh boy. Time to review the Mod Cabin. I believe they have essential oils in their products. Today my beard balm from them is due to arrive in “Bonfire” scent. I’m excited to try it. 👍🏻
Beard octane ( essential and other scents) , Dr Nick's and 8 bit ( Pinky is absolutely fantastic!) my top 3 and most used. Great oil. The other oils you talked about on my rolling "to try list", looking forward to trying them. Thanks Dan 🤜🤛
Great video. Some really cool companies. As of right now the only essential oil I have is Dr.Nicks IPA. I like it more for night time when I have no plans of going out and don’t want anything too strong of a scent
I’ve noticed that to me most fragrance oil are to overpowering. I don’t like to smell that fragrance all day. Even in the evening, it’s still there. On the other hand essential oil only lasts a couple hours. Is there any that are in between? Love your videos, very educative lots of usual info. Don’t stop!

I personally prefer long lasting scents. I buy the oil because of the scent and I want to smell it for more than an hour. My work environment is such that I don’t get to enjoy the scent anyway so for work I choose based on how it feels in beard and save the stronger scents for outside of work.

I have been using 8-bit beard co for the last week trying out their essential oil blends and they have been working great for me. I have had Clyde in since 7 this morning and I pull up the beard to take a whiff and that cedar is still kickin! I didn’t use any heat today, so that may have helped prolong the scent duration. I prefer fragrance oils, or fragrance, and essential blends. I do prefer the stronger long lasting myself. I see vanilla in some of these blends and I was wondering is absolute the same thing as an essential oil?
They are not technically the same thing, but essentially (no pun intended) the same thing. They are extracted from plants. They are all-natural and not synthetic like fragrance oils.
I havnt seen one but have you made a video on a before and after for beard butter and beard balm? I know you don’t use beard balm but would be nice to see the difference of looks before and after for both.
I have not, just because I don’t wear those during the day for any styling. I likely would not put that on video because I do not like the appearance of that for a beard like mine
Hey Dan. Great video. Question. Although using an essential oil blend where the scent will fade quicker. Can using a beard butter of the same scent after doing the morning straightening routine help the scent last longer?
Dan you need to try Valhalla Beard and Body. He offers soaps, beard washes, and beard products. I know some of his blends he only uses essential oils. Some he uses fo as well though.
Hey Negan - fellow bearded Brit here. Beard Octane, the Luxurious B, Dr Nick’s, and Artius all ship to the UK. I’ve ordered from all four. I believe, but am not certain, that 8-bit will also ship over the pond. Fingers crossed, ‘cos they’re next on my beard oil purchase list.
Hello, I had a question for you I have a grey beard on the long side recently I discovered olive oil soap, started using on beard and hair and body. With great success no need for conditioner or shampoo. I still found I need oil which would you recommend for my grey beard? Right now I’m using beard octane and honest Abe
Great list, sounds like some fantastic products but none are available in UK 😢 you reccomended Honest Amish to me, do you know of any other companies that are available in UK at all? Grave before Shave also isn’t available in UK and I’m after some products - a company I see a lot is called Seven Potions, have you heard of these? Appreciate your videos
I think Husky beard is also essential oils only, aren’t they? I seen you mentioned cupuacu in one of the oils, are they removing the long chain fatty acids like they do to shay butter to make it in to a liquid?
If you had to shave once a month but like to clean up and take care of the beard before you had to shave again, what would be your #1 beard oil for softening and scent?
@@DanCBeardedmy heard is more thick but I want it to be smoother than it is now. Which one is better for that and also should place a small batch of it or more?
Hello bro, I am just arriving in your community, I live in Latin America and I have been using Jelly Beard Oil for almost 2 years, but I feel that my beard has never looked fresh and in good condition, I do not speak English, that is why it is difficult for me to understand your video, I would like you to recommend some essential oil for my beard
I will certainly get the list out again! If you click the community tab and scroll down, you will find the list from 3 months ago. Those affiliates are still the same currently
I am happy to hear it comes down to personal preference. I love Doctor Nick’s, and Beard Octane’s Cold Start. I also love other brands with synthetic scents. While I may have some scent preferences, I want beard oils for their carrier oils, feel in beard, and effect on beard. Scent isn’t very important in my choices, and I’m sometimes surprised that I like some stronger scents less throughout the day. Will you do a “deep dive” into scents? I, for one, would eagerly look forward to it!
Thanks Leo! I am sure I will eventually, but it’s one of my weakest areas of specialty or knowledge when it comes to beard products. However, I love learning so I’m sure we will see more
@@DanCBeardedI’m tempted to say it is a weak area of interest for me for beard products, although I know it is important, if not essential, for humans.

Hey Dan. Great video. Question. Although using an essential oil blend where the scent will fade quicker. Can using a beard butter of the same scent after doing the morning straightening routine help the scent last longer?
Yeah, absolutely!
Thanks Dan! Have a great weekend!
Dan you need to try Valhalla Beard and Body. He offers soaps, beard washes, and beard products. I know some of his blends he only uses essential oils. Some he uses fo as well though.
Thanks for the rec!
Will have to go through the list to see if I can get any over in the UK! Loving the beard growing for the first time! Baby face is dead to me! 😝
Oh awesome!
@The_real_CO thank you so much! Very helpful
@@The_real_CO That’s great! Really appreciate that 🤝😁 thank you mate.
Great info.
Thanks!
Hello, I had a question for you I have a grey beard on the long side recently I discovered olive oil soap, started using on beard and hair and body. With great success no need for conditioner or shampoo. I still found I need oil which would you recommend for my grey beard? Right now I’m using beard octane and honest Abe
Try: Artius Man=

Great list, sounds like some fantastic products but none are available in UK 😢 you reccomended Honest Amish to me, do you know of any other companies that are available in UK at all? Grave before Shave also isn’t available in UK and I’m after some products - a company I see a lot is called Seven Potions, have you heard of these? Appreciate your videos
Seven potions is the best I have used! If you search their name and mine together on youtube here, you will find several videos
@@DanCBearded fantastic Dan appreciate you again 🙏🏻
what would you rate Wild Willies beard products? also who is your favorite oil ?
I don’t have a favorite but there are amazing options on this video. Wild Willie’s is one of the worst I have ever used.
I think Husky beard is also essential oils only, aren’t they?
I seen you mentioned cupuacu in one of the oils, are they removing the long chain fatty acids like they do to shay butter to make it in to a liquid?
I do not know with Husky. I have not used their products or interacted with them in years. And yes, exactly about cupuacu
Congrats on 80K
No icy Mack tho ? lol
But i do prefer fragrance oils. I just love a good dark scent
Thank you! I believe icy Mack has fragrance oils in it, the ingredients say fragrance. Unless I had a major brain fart. Love that oil!
@@DanCBearded nah it’s all essential lol
Have you tried Johnny Slick products? If so, what do you think about them?
I tried years ago and they were fine. Not great but not bad
If you had to shave once a month but like to clean up and take care of the beard before you had to shave again, what would be your #1 beard oil for softening and scent?
I don’t have a “one” but genuinely you cannot go wrong with any of the options on this list
Can you use this for hair also?
Yes, absolutely
I have invigoration I love the oil blend works well in my beard and as far as the scent its very invigorating the name is perfert
You’re the man Ron!
One thing I’ll love to know is does it matter how thick your beard is? Such as mines is more on the thicker side. Not like yours haha but yeah.
Hey man! Matter in terms of what?
@@DanCBeardedmy heard is more thick but I want it to be smoother than it is now. Which one is better for that and also should place a small batch of it or more?
I've been using Arlo's
Thanks for sharing!
Try the beard oil and beard wash from: Doctor Nicks= www.doctornicks.com/danc

Small batch! USA made! Family Owned! That's what I will buy. Every_Single_Time.
Absolutely 🤝 thankfully every single one of these fit that criteria
Hey my friend I noticed you have new stuff on your discount list can you send out your list with everything on it 😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I will certainly get the list out again! If you click the community tab and scroll down, you will find the list from 3 months ago. Those affiliates are still the same currently
What are your thoughts on boss man?
Not good at all
Well, damn, all of my products are by boss man smh
If the oil says for messages is it safe for your face?
I’m not sure
What happened to Copper John’s?
What do you mean? They are an amazing company but do not have an essential oil only blend at this time
Is it just sweet bastard that has essential oils??
It may be, if not it’s one of the only
I am happy to hear it comes down to personal preference.
@leosigman7239 agreed!
I love invigoration. Smells like dinner mints to me lol
Yummm lol
First?
The GOLD!
