    I think Autel is the Tesla of the drone world. I say that because they are going to be THE premiere drone to buy and the excitement will build with no advertising. Great job Autel! As a drone pilot I AM STOKED!

    My guess with the 48mp still shots camera is it will have the ability to pixel shift on the a 12mp sensor. MFT cameras like the OMD EM1 Mkii have this already.

    What kind of transmission will the evo have to get a 16 mile range? Seems hard to believe. I will be looking for the all inclusive app your developing Paul.

      @Scouts Honor It has 900mhz video transmission. With this you can go as far as the battery will let you go.

    DJI has grounded me twice with their geo fencing while I was trying complete a job. I was in legal air space but it would not launch. Evo had no issues. Steering clear from DJI for that reason alone.

    I'm putting this out there for educational purposes. What if... anyone of you were hired to fly for a casino, near the area this guy flew ($20,000 fined guy) and you were approved by the FAA and released to fly with your DJI drone, for a job. What would you do if your drone were to loose GPS and it went into ATTI mode and it was windy. Then it starts to fly away, toward the airport. "WHAT WOULD YOU DO"? Lets say you can't control the drone well enough, due to strong wind. How would you handle this situation? Or even worse, you loose video feed and it fly's toward the airport and you begin to loose VLOS? What do you do? I think this is a very important topic and worth noting, as it could happen to anyone. Easier to think ahead now, when when panic happens. Love to hear Paul's answer on this one!

    • @ugpfpv361
      @ugpfpv361 5 лет назад

      First thing... have someone call the airport it's heading towards, stating you've lost control.

    • @trosencrantz
      @trosencrantz 5 лет назад

      @@ugpfpv361 Yes, as any FAA licensed pilot would do in this situation, having a VO is precisely for this reason! Many people who don't fly for commercial purposes and thus, while we may hear of these rogue fly-aways, more frequently, as more and more novices start flying drones. Rules and Reg. will be grow as the issues surmount, like accidents. VLOS is so important in situations like these. One should always consider the "What If" scenario, prior to each flight, especially the more risky environment ones.

    This is not the first time I’ve seen enthusiasts approving of if not giddy over regulation and enforcement. The FAA is not your friend. The FAA is an uncompassionate regulatory and enforcement agency. This is likely to go only one direction with increasing regulation, added restrictions, enhanced pilot qualification, testing and recurrency standards as well as potentially expensive equipment requirements. Wait until someone there figures out how much safer sUAS’s would be with FAA approved transponders or ADS-B. Having flown professionally for decades, the FAA were to be avoided wherever possible. Even the best pilots make mistakes and, if in the wrong place at the wrong time, that pilot was likely to feel the entire administrative weight on his back. Fly safe, of course, but understand that inspectors have no compunction in snaring even the most conscientious pilot on a bad day.

    EVO 2 is just crazy! But, we'll see how all these specs perform in a real field. On paper, it is the best camera drone currently (unless we have info about M3Pro). The only issue (IMO) is the starting weight, 1kg is a little bit too much for personal use.

    The Autel Evo 2 does sound amazing. But I feel like it will be way too high in price for 90% of the droners that are excited about this. I feel that the price will be a minimum of $2999 and I think each camera will be separate at a minimum of $699 a piece. There is no indication of a standard 4K camera so I am also wondering if this will just be marketed for Enterprise users. Without a standard 4K camera I'm not sure if the price will be worth it.
    That being said, what are the indications that the Evo 2 will have a release date announced in January? I feel like this is a teaser prototype to gage the interest and we won't see it hit market until late 2020 at the earliest. This is a huge leap for Autel let alone any company. Even DJI hasn't done this (of course DJI may be crippling themselves so as to not compete with their own products).
    I don't know, I'm just skeptical this will come to be in 2020 and even if it does, I can't imagine the price point would be anywhere near where this puts Autel back on the map to competing with DJI. But I hope I'm wrong!

    • @Canyon76
      @Canyon76 5 лет назад

      @Brad Yes. When I wrote that it was before the price was released. But then it comes down to the ability to process that 8K imagery. At that point you could save some money and go with the original Evo or some other brand.

    • @Canyon76
      @Canyon76 5 лет назад

      @Brad If I get an Evo 2 it will definitely be the 6K model to start with. Best part about the EVO 2 is that the cameras are interchangeable. So later on if that 8K camera is all the rage... then I may get it....

    Everyone wants miles of range but.... just like this guy got fined $20,000, it violates the law to fly a uav here in America past visual line of sight. Idk about everyone else but $20,000 is enough money to hinder my family for years and years and years.... I feel like a hobbyist scraping $200 to build an fpv drone is going to be completely discouraged from the hobby at this rate. They sell toys capable of breaking the FAA regulations... gonna fine a 13yo with his emax EZ pilot? The legislation is so detached they just found an easy way to make revenue out of another hobby. And yeah it’ll scare people, but clearly if people want to be responsible they will be without the law going ham. And worst case scenario we will see people that would respect the rules be completely deterred and see people who don’t want to be responsible continue to violate the laws regardless. Creating an underground illegal film industry based on DJI range tests....

    When you owe the federal government money, as in the case of this fine, -- if a negotiated settlement is not made -- the agency (FAA) sends it to the Treasury Department for collection.

    Wanting to see enforcement of laws prohibiting drone use eliminates the expansion of this hobby and only ensures that people who invest large amounts of money, will have the ability to enter the hobby. I just got a drone and knowing about these laws before hand would have ensured that I would have never bought one. If everyone feels the same way the purchase of drones declines. Research and Development for drones will decline exponentially and no one will manufacture end user drones meaning the costs will go up for the drones that are manufactured. This is the heavy handed enforcement and your support for it makes me question you as an American. Cheering this man's financial ruin makes you suspect. Your ignorance of the law and law enforcement is astounding. Your opinions of law enforcement are a danger to freedom.

      You must be kidding with your comments. How could you purchase a quad and not expect some rules for flight? Just consider the facts. This guy was flying in a no-fly zone. His quad landed RIGHT ON an active airfield. This has nothing to do with freedom. It has everthing to do with SAFETY. I'm sorry that you just don't care to see the implications of your comments. YES, you are right about one thing, you should NEVER have bought a quad!

    I'm guessing that Autel will have similar problems delivering this one as they did the EVO 1. DJI will respond heavily and early to try and steal their thunder and will deliver at a smaller price point. However , we need the competition and this is MORE than what we have been waiting for since EVO was first introduced. Now, I hope they will also do a Skydio 2 type of thing with the tracking capabilities. Autel and Skydio are the gnats on the elephants' ass and we'll see if the elephant can crush them or not. Makes you wonder what's in the minds of people who bristle at the built-in geo fencing of DJI drones and if they will take this guy's case and huge fines to heart to modify their thinking.

    • @souocara38able
      @souocara38able 5 лет назад

      I'm one of those people who hates Geo fencing and here is what is in my mind. I know the rules, I know where I can fly, I know where I need authorization and I don't want to be bothered with my tool deciding when it wants to work or not.
      I don't want the risk of it deciding not to work when and where I am perfectly allowed to work and I don't want the hassle of trying to go through all the hoops that DJR requires to get it un- locked in certain situations.
      How can I sign a contract saying that I'm gonna do a job when my aircraft might decide not to? Imagine if power saws and everything else were connected to a database that would not allow the saw to operate unless it felt like the zoning was appropriate for your project?
      Imagine if our cars would just shut down because they thought we were going somewhere that we shouldn't Lol
      The guy who got busted for his fly away in controlled airspace doesn't concern me at all because I wouldn't do that. The technology isn't bulletproof and flyaways can happen but his biggest problem was that he knowingly took off in controlled airspace and apparently had planned to knowingly fly over people and moving cars. Without those factors the fly away by itself would have been far less of a problem for him

      I might be OK with trace ability but not for the general public. I hope you're wrong about Geo fencing being mandated for everyone. If it is maybe there would incorporate a way to turn it off for people who are certified especially if they are traceable. I guess time will tell...
      It's interesting that people are so upset about drones which haven't killed anybody but small airplanes fall from the sky just about every month. When they crash they sometimes kill people on the ground and often start fires which burned down homes and create major traffic jams but I don't hear hardly anybody calling for restrictions on private / general aviation aircraft.
