I hope this helps a few people with drifting in FH3! I don't really do any video editing stuff and have never made something like this so forgive the low quality editing. I feel like there's still so much I missed but this should help with the basics! Good luck everyone!
I also want to thank u/Stancie on Reddit for making a really good drifting write-up that helped me with some aspects of the tuning.
EDIT: Wow! The response to this video has been so much greater than I was hoping for, really wasn't expecting all the views (and subscribers!) That being said I'd really like to make a few more videos and expand the channel a bit more (as you can see its quite barren save for some old "personal" videos). I've learned a lot since this video have some ideas to work on but let me know in the comments if there's anything specific you'd like to see! |

Great video man! You have no idea how hard it is to find someone that shows the actual tune and not just "Drift Build" in the title!
Come on, guys, hes just trying to help beginners learn how to drift and you give him all this shit.
Awesome work, man. I'm sure this video will be helpful to many people, I sure found it informative. Thanks.

Great video, cheers
Thank you so much! Helped a lot!
The settings helped way more
Nice guide. Forza Horizon 3 is my first driving game ever (and I'm 48) so I've been lost until I found your guide. The car tuning and slow motion discussion was outstanding. Really technically well explained. Thanks.
@Meme Guy nah surely not
@Meme Guy fair enough
Wow... I have been having steering set to simulation this whole time, now I tried it on normal for the first time... It's sooo much easier holy crap. My previous record on that drift zone you were driving on in the video, was 50 349, with steering set to simulation. I did two runs with steering set to normal and now my record is 56 893. It made a huge difference, especially because I'm driving a HE E36, and with that you can only run either race tires or rally tires, there's nothing else to choose from. So simulation steering really made that car very hard to handle, but now it works just fine! Thanks man!
Johan the he m3 (90's) is loose af but I like my cars like that ;P
Try the M3 E36 HE, simulation steering and standard tires (standards on HE E36 is race tires), try doing some highspeed drifting with that. The transitions from left to right turns are pretty fucking violent xD But now that I have put steering to normal I've beaten all my highscores on the driftzones by miles, it's just so much more relaxed.
This video is so helpful
nice tutorial!! hope to see more vids!!
Thanks this was very helpful
Continue making fh3 videos. This was a great video and i think you could become a big youtuber :)
I appreciate the kind words! I definitely plan on making at least a few more videos pretty soon here!

Thx a lot man ! I sub to you ;) I have the logitech momo, it is good for forza horizon 3 and the drift ? (sorry but i'm bad in engish and I can't understand everythink in your video ^^) But i like it ! xD
Very good. Thank you
Love it, very helpfull, thanks
Hoki ! Will you be doing a FH4 drifitng guides ? Really need 1 to learn drifitng ..
😁
Thanks!
Really under-rated video man! Awesome stuff! Keep it up :D
The way I learnt was to use weight shifting. I got myself an M5 with a tad bit of camber, put the spring stiffness to the middle, and then put my differential to 100% both ways. It was around 500hp and that was plenty to get a grasp of drifting around corners and round-abouts especially.
Then when I learnt how to move to the left, right, more angle, etc. I then started going for lighter vehicles with around the same amount of power and roughly the same tune. I think this was a better way to learn because at that time when you have a car with a lower power to weight ratio you can push the vehicle to the limit to learn how to stay initiated in a drift, and then when the weight gets less you begin to also incorporate throttle control to prevent yourself spinning out.
run manual with clutch and abs off
The Shows clutch kick for dayys
Please show as how to do this all the RUclipsr are shit please show me yeah
All day! 😇 check out my clip lol #donttextanddrive x.D
Collin Gee oo
It bothered me really bad he just used manual instead of w/clutch 😛
Dayum this tune worked
Really helpful
thank you for sharing
You hit all the important tunes
Omg this is baaaaad
U helped a lot thx, I can finally use the Ford Shelby for these drift "cams"
Zones hehe
I forgot lol
Not a bad video!
nice video
Thank you so much
Thanks mane
use rally springs for more angle, worth it imo! If you're new to drifting dont use a 1000 hp car, get something like a rx7, m3,s13 and around 400-500 hp. Btw great video overall :D
Hell yeah
Thank you thank you
nice video. how do you make videos in the game? Does it have a editor ?
Thanks! I used Xbox Game DVR to record the raw footage (fraps doesn't work), then edited the video in Sony Vegas.
There's a lot wrong with this video. First off, Manual w/ clutch is highly recommended. Have clutch set to A, and shifting up/down to B/X. If the back-end comes out a bit too far, you can bring it back, and it's easier to initiate. Roll bars, stiffness, and damping/rebound make the world of difference. As a start, recommend adjusting roll bars. Softer rear roll bars can help get better angle. Springs and Damping you just have to mess with, once again, slightly softer rear can help with angle. Also, for high-scores in drift zones, AWD is the way to go.
533ren335 .."for jrifting awd is the way to go" , assuming ur lame n lookin to cheapen the experience;)
SharonNeedles@freedomsnotfree.com he said for the highest score you ass, not the best experience.
4wd isnt drifting
anti roll bars make a huge difference if its softer in the back you will spin out less
wow ...I love the way u detailed everything .... could u do a video abt tuning and explaining wat will go wrong ,if we tune it the wrong way ...thx
I have a video coming out next week that should help to explain tuning a lot better and show why different things are better/worse!
cool thx bro
good video dude
this is honestly the best srift car i have built yet
drifting is about personal technique good tips and pointers tho
i was your 1000 sud
Jesus, how do you figure out all this stuff 😫
great tutorial tho!
except for the fact many of the tips he gave was wrong/misleading or a cheap way of drifting such as v8 swaps
+RedShiftJellyfish Yeah, Honestly his tune is terrible.
Thanks so much I'm so good
my drift tunes are completely different. i always put -2 degrees of camber in the front and -1.5 in the back. the tire pressure is at around 28. i usually put 0.5 degrees of toe then max the angle caster. then i drop the car and lock the diff. i dont drift with crazy big engines though. i usually stick with the smaller side since it helps keep angle better
Nice
I can finally drift!!
It helps me
