- I am very sad that they removed Dust2 from the active map pool. It's been my favorite map in any video game since the early 2000s. I hope they re-release it quickly since I think Anubis in the pro scene will be quite dull. :(

Dust 2 experienced this in 2016-2019. Not having it again for 3 years is chilling!
But it was only removed for the competitive scene. Dust2 still in the game, you can still play it.

I feel like everyone is forgetting that and thinking it was always in the tournament pool. It simply wasn't. Yes, it is the most iconic map. But maps like Inferno and Nuke and at this point also Mirage are also very iconic, yet they were at some point out of the map pool (except Mirage).
Obviously, Dust II is probably not getting a remake anytime soon (it's still pretty new), but they may have other reasons to remove it from the active duty. Maybe they removed it to experiment with some stuff (flipping the doors, making them more wallbangable or adjusting some angles, etc.) before they add it back in. Or they maybe finally listened and want to rotate the maps a bit, switching out one map for another one after every major. It's very possible that after the next major, if Anubis has proven itself, it will stay, while Dust II comes back and pushes out a different map (maybe finally Mirage?).

It's a shame that dust 2 was removed from the active pool, instead of other map. Dust 2 is such an iconic and classic map.
It is still playable for casual gamers and it will stays iconic. The changes is only made for professional plays

The mag is an AWP mag (.308 winchester magnum) whereas the AWM has a bigger magwell, but in-game, the AWP described as a .338 Lapua Magnum sniper rifle

Why are people so mad about dust2, it’s still playable, just not played in tournaments. I get that it’s a classic map and beloved by many but it’s not like it’s completely gone, it’s still there to queue.

The rise of the prices of the souvenir packages of Dust 2 are going to be insane. I remember when I had a couple of those many years ago. On the other hand, the Awp magazine is unjustified. As for the m4a1 s nerf, it's OK because most people have been complaining about it.

They're wrong about so much. anomaly is delusional, most of these changes are for the better of the pro scene. Changing metas is how you make pro games interesting.
The awp nerf doesn't change anything except that you cant spam with it through smokes or whatever. When is the last time you saw an awp player reload the weapon. Also the AWP never gets caught off guard because you just take an angle then run back and take another angle, therefore the awp can reload when it wants to.
I mean it stops anybody who’s inexperienced with the Awp from using it aggressively I suppose. Somebody who can hit shots still can kill a whole team with one mag in theory. But stops aggressive awpers who don’t have the best aim. Which I suppose is a good thing. Makes it even more of a higher risk to awp aggressively rather than guaranteeing a few cheese kills
@@wowsuchname1939 If you take an agressive angle, you still have time to fall back and reload. And you still have 5 bullets to 2-3 people that wants to trade the one you are going to shoot at

For those interested. The three most played maps, ranked by the amount of games that they have taken place on them are.
1. Mirage
2. Inferno
3. Dust II
Yeah in Comp. And you can still play dust 2 comp. It is however removed for the pro scene. And its the least played map for pro scene since 3 tournaments ago.
Why is everyone acting like Dust 2 got completely removed from the game? 😂 This change only affects pro players and introduces a completely new map with new ways to play and approach the game. Like if you still want to play Dust2 you can no one is gonna stop you.

IVE BEEN WANTING THIS. Actually literally no joke. The most stale map in the pool for me is Dust2 by far. Anubis is a fresh and awesome looking and feeling map. I love this

Dust2 still exist on the bottom part of the Comp Matches.
Clip size change won't make the AWP any more difficult to play but atleast it's a step in the right direction.

All of those have been pro map already. Its time for new maps. Anubis is a fan made map. One of the few examples of Valve actually caring about their fans and using their input.
@@scuckplexity I'm not too sure about that one, I think whats got Anubis as far as it did was the big mapping competition that was like 2 years ago I think, it had anubis winning and basalt in second, it was actually the reason a couple of maps got in the game. Problem is now I don't even think its the best map in that pool let alone the best map available for active duty but the devs think we like it cause it won the mapping competition

They removed Dust years ago,a iconic map in the eraliest days of classic CS until the arrival of Dust 2.
Dust 2 is the place that we hate it,loved it and played on it for 20 years and is our home.

Bro dust II is literally one of the most iconic video game maps in existence, all the bootleg cs games have it, and a lot of other non related games have a dust II type map, crazy to see it gone after all these years
Been playing for years, This update is great, Sorry AWP nerf makes sense, as AUTO is more expensive/M4a1-s was OP dispite being the cheapest CT Rifle. And anubis is a 7/10 map

Even if they did remove dust II they should have replaced it with cache or something. I mean it does not really matter for mm, but for pro play it will change stuff. I think they did this because Dust II was not played that much at the last major.

Im suprised about peoples reaction for removing dust 2. Everytime I play competitive with map vote there are about 70-80% of people who tries to vote out dust 2 and if it gets selected even leaves the game. Like my impression when playing was that people are tired of dust 2 but now everyone crying that it’s not in active pool. I guess it’s true that you strat to value things only after loosing them

@@jimmy5516 Thats a miss chief, whole reason why D2 is even as popular as it is, is because there are barely any strats, people just play it as a deathmatch map. There are people who queue nothing but D2 and get supreme who end matches with 2 flashbangs when they aren't playing their stale map

Anubis because of the height difference at many locations makes it a great map for exposing cheaters.

I like Anubis it's a beautiful render and once you know the map it's not that different to any other map but yes I don't get why Dust2 is being removed that's one of my favourite maps too and I even loved Dust1 even though that was more CT biased than Office.

No, they did not. You can still play it in Comp. Dus 2 was the least played map for the last 3 tournaments in the pro scene. Hence why they removed it for the pro scene.
I don't really play the game anymore or really watch what is going on, but I love this move because it's so crazy. Dust 2 is overplayed at this point and just removing it from active duty is a crazy move, but funny. Will definitely shake things up if they keep up with this decision and don't get pressured into reverting the decision.
If you think about it, they replaced the modern Egypt aesthetic with the old Egypt aesthetic.
And I won't lie, I'm hella biased towards the "Anubis" map only for its theme, I even used to have all the Egyptian-themed weapon skins so that should say a lot. I'm actually excited to see if they add the "Anubis" map-specific skin collection. Or hopefully, they update the map's layout, I don't think there's a way Valve would just let a map in pro scene without tweaking it first.
The awp nerf really pissed me off. As a normal player at the average level, it's common to miss at least 1 shot per 2 shots fired so it makes the 3k capabilites non-existent if you either miss or have fired shots previously

CAUTION A DIFFERENT VIEW: I think y'all should be OPEN-MINDED about this change, and honestly I think more maps should've been replaced. Like obviously there will be improvements and I think 5 months before the Major is enough for feedback and changes. This reminds me of how dota 2 frequently buff/nerf/ and adds new heroes into the map pool, IT REALLY FRESHENS EVERYTHING UP.

Pro's say AWP is OP with 10 bullets - it gets reduced
Pro's say M4A1-S is still a little broken - it gets damage debuff
The pro's run this game, and they also see where these changes should be made a lot more than even the average global or level 10. This update is actually one of the better ones they've had in a while. Get rid of the stale map while also adding competitive balance. That's how updates should be

@@outlaw9073 Train was removed from active duty 2 years ago yet has been on faceit all this time. Most faceit players have a mm rank, so yes I would say 90% of players play mm. It's good that they remove d2 anyways, its sucks and has been stale for many years
The AWP change is really nice.
One miss is a wipe potential lost, making competetive play more interesting.
But in casual play "drop awp" is now a less safe eco play though.

Removing dust 2 is probably the most based thing ive ever seen in my life. All these people saying that „it was so good“ are capping out of their fucking minds because it was one of the most dogshit maps in the game. Valve has restored my faith in humanity with this one.

Dust2 got replaced because it was the least played map in the pro scene. During the entirety of Rio major it got played about 3-4 times so it only makes sense that Dust2 had to go sooner or later
