    You are my new bff!! I have searched for quite a while for someone who did an actual step-by-step customization of the kit (and showing it on the video) and you have made my day! Thank you and great drumming!

    Thanks for taking the time to make this :) appreciated. I think I’m settled on the Rd-25kv as my kit. Even after all these years!

    Thanks for the reply. The reason I asked about it is because with all of my tech things (lots of them), I always just put the USB Drive right into the port while it's "ON". I'd say I do that 100 percent of the time so when I read about that, in the manual, I was somewhat confused. Feeling that (after watching your video) you certainly know what you're doing (and you do the same as i do) it prompted me to question it. By the way, I'll be 71 years old this year and I still "love" playing. My music room where I keep all my guitars, keyboard and drums is my "Happy Place". My 1st drums were a set of Rogers Cozy Cole Model (I wish I had them now); I'm dating myself!!! I really enjoyed watching your other videos; your Logo is the best. Thanks, again, for all of your efforts...

      No problem at all, it's a pleasure to help. Look at it like this, if you've been doing it that way for many years then the chances are it's OK and nothing bad will happen. I'm glad you're still playing, i hope to never have to give it up and one day look forward to having a dedicated room similar to your 'happy place' :) I remember my first set too, a beginner Premier kit but i got loads of upgraded cymbals and hardware and i loved it. Sadly i stopped drumming for a while and sold it all (biggest mistake ever) but that's life i suppose! I'm someone else somewhere is enjoying it. Glad you're enjoying the videos and hope it continues as there'll be many more to come.

    Hi Joe, just wanted to say thanks for this clip.I've recently bought the same kit as yours, and just added another crash. Your explanation for the set up has been really helpful in working out a pretty good, diverse kit. I even bought the Shure buds, which are damn good...a lot better than the usual phones, without the sweat component. I'd recommend this kit for anyone getting into drumming, makes it so much easier for practice, especially in an apartment. The sound I'm getting is excellent, and loads of fun...Cheers mate, from Down Under

      Hi Tim. Thank you very much. I'm really glad you found the video helpful and you're right the shure buds make such a difference compared to standard headphones, not only with the kit sounds but also any other audio such as backing tracks/songs. Hope you continue to enjoy it as much as i do :)

    Thank you for this informative video, very well explained! Looks like this module is user-friendly, which is very important to me, because I'm a complete beginner when it comes to e-drums. I play acoustic drums about 15 years, but I want to buy e-kit because I live in an apartment. I'm thinking between Yamaha dtx750k, Alesis Strike Zone and Roland td-25kv/30k, but after I looked at your video, I'm leaning toward 25kv :) Really sounds great!
    P.S. You got a new subscriber :)
    Best wishes from Belgrade, Serbia!

    • @joefletcher9
      @joefletcher9  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Marko. Glad you enjoyed the video. All the kits you've listed are very good pieces of kit. A lot comes down to personal preference and the Roland just edged it for me. It is an incredibly easy module to use and the sounds are very good plus as with any e-kit the options are endless when you use Midi too. I'd say the TD30 module is for the advanced players who really want to hone in on every detail and are going to use the module to it's capacity in a recording or live session. The TD25 is just the right amount of tech for what i need.

    Your kit sounds awesome! Just reinforces how much I want that module for a hybrid kit. I'm certainly not the best drummer in the world, but with how awesome the kick and toms sound, you should add more kick to your fills. Just my opinion, I'm in no way the best. Anyway, awesome content and you definitely gained a subscriber out of me!

      @joefletcher9  8 лет назад

      Hey thanks so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I certainly intend to start learning/practicing putting more kick into my fills so thanks for the tips/advice! And hey who's the best anyway? As long as you enjoy yourself that's what matters so keep it up and you can only keep getting better and better :)

    Thank you for a "really" great video my friend; well done indeed. I just got the exact same set and I love it. I had a Roland TD-9KX2 prior to this one. I have one question for you. I noticed the USB Flash Drive in your TD-25. The (Manual) says "Never Remove or Insert a USB Flash Drive when the power is (ON)", as it can cause damage to the TD-25 or the Flash Drive". I've seen videos, on the TD-25, where the person inserts the Flash Drive while the power is "ON". I'd like to hear your opinion on that. I enjoyed your playing also, thanks for your time...

    • @joefletcher9
      @joefletcher9  7 лет назад

      Thank you very much and i'm very glad you enjoyed the video. I'll admit i am a culprit of inserting and removing the flash drive whilst the module is turned on. It's like anything i guess, the warning is there for a reason because it could damage it and we should really follow the guidelines. To be honest it doesn't take long the the module to turn on and off so probably best to get into the habit of following the guideline to save creating any problems. I should take this advice too i think!

    • @joefletcher9
      @joefletcher9  8 лет назад +1

      Thank you very much :) I honestly don't use drumless tracks. I just take the original track and mix my recorded drums over the top of them. I tend to reduce the volume of the original track or play around with some of the eq to reduce the drum sound and then bring mine slightly up so the drum sound is more prominent than in the original track. Hope that helps :)

    Hey man, nice videos and good drumming! I was just wondering what the situation with copyright is regarding your channel. I've noticed that I'm unable to play a number of your videos, which I'm presuming is due to copyright issues? It's weird how some videos play and others don't... I'm also curious about whether it is possible to monetise videos where a song is included?

    • @joefletcher9
      @joefletcher9  8 лет назад

      Hey thanks so much! If you use the youtube audio library you can search songs and look at the copyright guidelines on them. Majority of songs you can use but you can't monetise your video if you use them. Ads will appear on your videos and may some restrictions might be that the video will be blocked in certain countries or can't be played on mobile devices.

    Hi Joe,
    I own this kit, but I want to add a few extra pads. I would like another floor tom (the PDX-100) and a crash (the CY-12C), does the kit allow more pads to be added? I don't want to start heavily investing! Also, does the cymbal come with a stand? Great video as always by the way!

    • @joefletcher9
      @joefletcher9  7 лет назад

      Hey thanks for the question. The module has 2 additional inputs. One is specifically for an extra crash and the other can be for anything else so yes you could easily add another floor tom. The CY-12C I bought did come with the arm/clamp. I think it's standard but always worth double checking with whoever you buy it from just in case. The extra cymbal allows you to add an additional cymbal or Percussion sound. The other trigger input (your extra floor tom) can have any sound on it. I have another cymbal plugged into this input but I could use the pad for another snare/tom/cowbell etc. Hope that helps :)

    Hi! Great job, I have just described and am thinking of purchasing this kit. Is it possible to record drum covers using just an iPhone and iPad (I don't have a laptop) like playing a drumless track through the module on my iPad and filming with iPhone if that makes sense.
    thanks in advance. Keep up the good work :)

    • @justbrowsing4471

      *subscribed not described

    • @joefletcher9
      @joefletcher9  8 лет назад

      +Druggyslug thanks for subscribing. You'd have no problem playing the track through the module by using a simple 3.5mm headphone jack between your ipad and the module. Also filming with your iphone will be ok the problem is the audio. You need to be able to record the audio via USB or MIDI. I don't know much about ipad's but if they have a USB memory slot where you could plug a USB stick into then you;d have no issues. You'd record your drum audio onto the USB stick as you play along to the drumless track and the export it onto the USB stick. You would then transfer the audio from the USB stick onto your ipad and use whichever program you can to merge the audio and video together yo finish your video. Hope this helps and your ipad does have a USB connection, if not then i'm not too sure how it would work as you wouldn't have a way of recording the audio.

      +5haneOmac personally I don't. I just recorded over the top of the original track. I'm aware there are sites which provide drumless tracks but I'm not sure what they are. I'm sure a quick google search could probably provide a few answers for you :)

    Can you put cymbal or percussion sounds on tom pads? Great video as always

    • @joefletcher9
      @joefletcher9  8 лет назад +2

      Hey. With the Tom pads you can assign Percussion sounds and with cymbal pads you can also assign Percussion. The extra trigger input allows you to assign any sound you want. You can't assign cymbal sounds to the Tom bads and vice versa unless you use midi software. Unfortunately the module doesn't allow you to customise the Tom pads to cymbals which is a shame.
