    Finally an electronic kit worth the investment so I can enjoy city life apartment playing. You can hear the the time put in sampling these drums. Lots of dynamics and natural timbre.

    I've tried Alesis, Yamaha and Roland, all of them have plus and minuses, however, Roland are still the best overall. You get what you pay for.

      I owned a roland kit since 2008 (td 9 full mesh with kd120) still have it but i upgraded my module to a atv ad5 and did a full a to e on my acoustic kit,still using my roland cymbals ,my mesh heads are all roland powerply and i have rt 30 triggers on them ,the ad5 module sounds and plays way better than my old roland module.
      I have spent around 10k on my td9 and my a to e so ya i can afford roland and am not jealous ,i like roland stuff but i'm also not a fanboy of anything so i have no problem talking about roland's shortcomings. They make great pads and cymbals but the modules just don't sound that good.Sorry the truth bothers you that much,grow up and don't be a fanboy,roland doesn't need cheerleaders they need to work on their sounds.

      I had the upgraded td9 and have heard the td 30 and 50 and they are not much better and don't even come close to the atv ad5 or the pearl mimic sound.

    Hi, I just bought this exact kit about 2 months ago. I noticed my hit-hat cymbal 'spins' on me and it gets very frustrating. I've noticed the Roland 50kv has a 'locking mechanism' for the hi-hat, but I don't see anything like that on the 25kv. Is there someway I can STOP the 'spinning?' Other than that, I LOVE this kit. Roland is awesome! This is my 2nd drum set, but my favorite. PS, I'd be VERY thankful if someone can help me about the hi-hat.

    Hi
    Quick question...I have a TD9 and with that you can edit the tom rims to have different sounds, cowbell etc. Can you do this with the TD25 as i've heard that you can't as they've stripped it right back and all you get are the toms which you can change but not the rims, is that right?
    Thanks.

    • @PMTVUK

      PMTVUK Quite a delay between question and answer. I ended up buying the TD30, No you can't use brushes. Sure you can hit the head with them and create a simulated sound, but you can't use brushes in the traditional style. Thankfully I still have my acoustic gear but the TD30 is a great practice tool.

    I recently bought a Roland TD15 KSV for $2,499.99 and it was such a horrific experience that I was on the phone with Musicians Friend getting my refund and reshipping labels after only 2 hours of setting it up. That kit I believe has since been discontinued since everywhere I look companies are no longer carrying it any more (Thank God).
    -
    I then tried to buy a KAT KT3 for $999.99 and it was just as bad so I had to instantly refunded it as well.
    As it is, I am still left playing my old Roland TD3 because it seems all these newer kits are worthless.
    -
    If I wanted a realistic feeling kit, I'd just buy a Real Drum kit for a fraction of the price.
    I need a kit that allows me to adjust the sensitivity of the pads so that I can do very fast double kicks and Gravity Blast beats.
    The last two kits I bought required me to hit and kick the pads as hard as I Physically could, to even trigger the sounds loud enough to hear.
    -
    Is there anything you could say that would motivate me to give a new Electric kit a 3rd try?

    • @GuessTech
      @GuessTech 8 лет назад +2

      +TylerNOS386277 You should go with the Roland TD-25KV (The V is important). Big difference with the 25 series is that it's got the computer/sound module from the highest end 30 series -- It's not, as he says here, an upgrade from the TD-15 .. but a variation on the TD-30 model.
      I have the TD-25KV myself, and it allows everything you are discussing. I think you became disgruntled because you went with a sub par (for your level of play) kit -- For a professional drummer you really need the TD-25KV or 30 .. But price is hugely different between these two.
      I'd advise going into a music shop and playing a TD-25KV before doing anything, but not buying from the shop. The TD-25KV retails for $3999 -- The TD-25K retails for $2500 (sometimes up to 2999) --
      Key differences in the TD-25KV vs TD-25K -- The KV has larger toms -- You need these larger pads.. We're talking a difference of 6.5" on the K to 8" on the KV for rack toms, and 8" floor on K to 10" floor on KV model. You get an additional 2nd crash cymbal on the KV as well. Those items alone are worth $1000 or so, give or take.
      So first verify the kit is what you want in person.. play around with the brain on the TD-25 module as all the things you mention are easily and quickly adjustable with it (you may want to take a quick read of a manual online before heading into store.. to make it quicker) as you seem to want to really fine tune things. Remember the heads also tune tighter/loser as traditional drums .. this is just for literal stick feel.. and have little to on bearing on sound obviously.
      Then, purchase online. If you are patient, you will find a floor model, or sometimes new on Ebay TD-25KV for $1999 or $2100 -- I got a brand new TD-25KV for $2050 -- Which is $51 more than the TD-25K, so definitely worth it.
      The TD-15 is somewhat in the same ballpark sound wise as the TD-25.. (esp if it's all mesh heads) but the brains/sound modules are worlds apart -- which is what creates the dynamic response, velocity, etc -- Which, imo, is what you are really trying to find that suits your needs.
      Honestly, the best E-Kit out there is the TD-30 -- The best professional grade E-kit on the market for the money is hands down the TD-25K/TD-25KV. Then the best learning drummer/semi enthusiast kit is the TD-15 which runs about 1499$.
      Roland makes the best Electronic drums on the market, there is just little comparison to the other companies -- and what you buy now isn't going to be revolutionized and thus obsolete in a year or 3 .. Again though,.. tinkering with the TD-25's brain/sound module in a store is where you'll quickly know the answer. If you have the money 7-8 grand.. then the TD-30 is as good as it gets.

      Ikos Log I actually did purchase the Roland TD-25. The following is part of a customer's review I left on Musician's Friend: "[I use E-kits for recording the drum tracks for my band to optimize my drum sound quality for our albums.] The realistic hi-hat is cool, the kick drum pad Actually allows for double pedals (unlike the TD-15 which I refunded within 2 hours of having it), the sounds are really great, and you can adjust the sensitivity so that you can have a realistic feel on the snare, OR you can make it so that you can lay down Metal style gravity blasts. (big thumbs up) All that stuff is good; but, here is the Big negative: There is no options of cymbals while playing. What I mean is: you have tons of great sounds to choose from; but, you can only pick one sound per cymbal. My very old TD-3 had 4 physical cymbals mounted, the cymbal pads were dual triggered, thus allowing me to set one cymbal sound for the side hit, and another for the top hit, giving me a grand total of 8 cymbal sounds at once to add flair to a song while performing. This "New and Advanced" E-kit only offers (1) The Hi-hats, (2) The Ride, and (3) what ever I'd like the third to be. The module offers a 4th cymbal input additionally; but, then that's still only 4 cymbals, which is only half the options given by their own brand's TD-3 kit from over a decade ago." I have since merged the old TD-3 and this new TD-25 together so that I have the quality of the New with the variety of the Old.

    • @TheDrummerDude17
      @TheDrummerDude17 7 лет назад

      I realize this is an old comment, but the cymbals included with the TD-25 kits DO support multiple sounds. The ride is a 3-zone, while the crashes are 2-zone. When selecting a sound for a different part of the cymbal, make sure it doesn't say "LINK" on the screen. If it does, hit one of the function buttons to turn it off. This allows you to select a secondary sound for the same cymbal.

    Until these Electronic or V Drum Kit Manufacturers start adding the high hat & kick pedal as part of the package then it's even more a rip off with regards to the price...
    If they don't manufacture those 2 then at least give the buyer the option to have the pick of 2 high hat & kick drum pedals at the level your paying for the kit, this is a mid level kit, so at least let us choose a mid level high hat & kick pedal from the store we're buying it from...
    It's 2019 not the early 80s, as at these prices everything should be included & this is why many of my friends won't cough up throne on these electronic kits...
