Bach's C major prelude. One of the most inclusive pieces of music you will ever find. Playable for a beginner and yet still stimulating for a world-class virtuoso, music belongs to us all. @ not everything in the world is a political conversation. Here is another way to put it "Bach's C major Prelude is not so hard to play" - which means if you are not a virtuoso, it's still a doable piece for a novice but still enjoyable for a virtuoso. Hence the word - inclusive.
This is definitely not an easy piece, yes the notes are easy, but maintaining a steady tempo (from start to end) and using the right expression while playing it without the pedal is harder than it seems.
@@crazyRyoga He uses the pedal at times here. On modern pianos it only makes sense to take advantage of the extra resonance you get from allowing all other strings to sympathetically vibrate with the notes struck in the melody. Lang Lang, I don't know if you will read these comments, but thank you, thank you, for recording this album and especially for making these short films. I am showing them to my students and their families this week as we just had our second recital starting with this piece. Thank you for dedicating this part of your career to this collection of music as you have in "Piano Book" and I will be referring to it many times for decades to come.

This short 2 min of music bring me back to my childhood, adolescence and adulthood, and even give me an imagination of the scene I will see after I die.

When you’re a beginner and you think you’re doing so well with this piece because you can play all the notes and then you listen to this and realise you are a LONG way off being able to channel the genius that is Bach.
Dear Mr. Johan Sebastian Bach. Thank you for your precious communication from your XVIIIth Century, which has now been received in the XXIst Century with great acclamation. We do not doubt that the centuries that will come in the future will be no less enthusiastic about your work as a music composer as we are in 2021. Our best contemporary interpreters of your life's work make you live among us, and it is a widely shared desire that all of what we know of your production be passed on to other generations with great care. Seen from our vantage point, it seems that nothing will challenge eternity as much as the memory of what you did for human understanding of music. May your name live in glory forever. With ultimate admiration, Yours truly.
thank you Lang Lang for this divine rendition , empathy and depth of recognition of Bach’ s masterpiece - I was simply melting away…. sensational performance 🌹
I started learning piano and now I have learnt to play it while keeping it entangled with my emotions. I feel great joy in being able to enunciate this wonderful music.
I will never forget my first piece of piano. I love this instrument with my heart and I will never get tired of its beautiness; the nostalgia and piece it brings me to hear this piece once again. Thanks Piano for so many great moments, and thanks Lang Lang for this beautiful interpretation. 😊😊😊
I've gotten many of my students hooked on Lang Lang's performances! He's so expressive! It seems like he deeply connects with every single note he plays.
@PAULO MARIO MEDINA The patterns are the same. Just observe the minute changes after each chord. In the beginning, the left hand only has one change (move one note down a tone, i.e. from E to D) and the right hand moves one key up. You get to the next chord by another one-note change on the LH (this time from C to B) while repeating the RH notes. Next chord, you're back at the first position. And so on... It also helps to listen to what you're playing, because if you've memorised the melody, you'd kind of know where your fingers should go next. It also helps if you know chords for the same reason.
Fairly easy to memorize. Very well structured, typical of Bach. It just takes a lot of practice to pedal it well and bring out the emotion. I learned this piece last year and play it often, love it!
It looks easy, but to get the notes even and calm -- "con perfetta uguaglianza" ("with perfect evenness") is the way my edition puts it -- that's the hard part.
Yes. But why do we think the same. But this is a soothing love. It gives hope last part is powerful and passionate then soothing again....magnificent. I am learning it
The way he plays a different piece seems like the way I do. Honestly I was a little bored with learning this, but I listened him and it gave me motivation!
This is an emotional story told completely by chord progression rendered as a heartfelt sharing. Thank you Lang Lang for making this into that story. Maybe not Bach by some notable purists standards but who cares I've listened to it two different times now and each time at the end I shed a tear.
Ooo the beautiful simplicity of Bach, excellent job on the players part, the dynamics were very clearly emphasized, and it sounds awesome! The simple resolutions that Bach makes are still awesome
