These guys don’t realise it’s not good to film interviews with people whispering. Just a simple pep talk before they record can solve this. If they ramp the mics up anymore, Jared’s breathing will pickup.
Ironman stance in EVA makes more FPS sense because your hitbox is so much smaller, when would standing stance be preferable?
o7
130 km an hour is fast, I dunno what your talking about.
mike not tolerating jareds bs always makes me happy
In terms of UI, could they make polarised glasses (or visors)? That would be wonderful for cutting out space glare.
Look at sea of thieves boats, u will understand why making objects have alot of physics kills server performance
The hide UI answer should simply have been: if we have extra time or it will happen later on
Jared is so cringe
It would be nice to have the host of the old bug smashers show hosting sometimes.
Dudes, medpen injection to refuel Eva fuel? “What…. What the fuck!?”maybe just have a set amount of fuel and if it runs out it runs out. Why can I refuel Eva with an injection and why do I have to purchase and carry another pen that’s not medical? Sounds stupid to me, I’d prefer dev time spent on something else.
100% agree. I like the idea of being able to refuel EVA, but I imagined it would be like some kind of refuel machine on my ship or maybe some extra EVA fuel tanks I can strap onto my back if I'm expecting to be out in EVA for a while. the idea of "injecting" EVA fuel into myself is stupid and honestly just a somewhat lazy way for them to be able to say "yeah, we have EVA refuel" without actually having to add ANY new mechanics or animations.
Guys, just as a reminder: This is still an alpha version. They're not "adding a feature" to a game here for us to enjoy, they're experimenting with a gameplay mechanic. What they're testing is how EVA plays with limited fuel. Giving players an immersive way to refuel is not necessary for that, so they just took a mechanic that already worked and tweaked it for another purpose. However, I'm curious to see how high the drug level gets for using that pen 😁
If you're using it to inject it into the pockets on the understuis, I don't see why that's an issue? The undersuits hav a limited fuel capacity and it makes sense that for people who regularly EVA in a world like Star Citizen they would make suits compatible with nitrogen refills you can jam into the suit pockets and refill. There is nothing outrageous about it.
@@VoodooMcVee These people would be complaining if you could refuel via beams, calling it beam citizen. They're using the medpen animations for refuelling EVA and people still complain.
@@Billy-bc8pk no way someone’s actually defending air injections pens. So we would keep injecting the right arm. Wouldn’t that create a hole in the suit. Also does it apply if we inject into the right arm several times. I’m not sure we should be able to refuel EVA our selves without help or a ship. The whole airpen idea is wild to me. I’m open to being convinced but idk.
Limiting EVA speed so harshly just means it's impossible to catch up to a drifting ship. Why not just cap it at the highest SCM speed? I get the need for a cap but the real limitation/suit differentiation should be acceleration and deceleration speed making it generally impractical and dangerous.
Yes. Lets limit the basic fuel people need to use to get around just because you're in the void!!! I'll probably never understand that line of thinking.
About the Loot goblin question. I understand that Ines said you will have "loot all" groups. So loot all ammo, loot all utilities, loot all armour, and then an "fully loot all' button.
If I understand this correctly, I am pleased about that. Because sometimes you just want to grab the ammo or just the med pen. If you can instantly loot just what you need and move on that would be amazing.
But then you also have the option to just grab mags off the player with out even going in to looting mode which is also great!
@@the_babbleboom what the hell are you talking about? Are you okay?
Mike, every time you mention, Tarkov and point fire - I get a little bit frustrated as the old school solve for that problem is putting a red sticky dot on your TV/monitor screen. Makes you super accurate and look good…
They’ve delivered nothing interesting/fun/cool to the game since citizencon. This “watershed” year has been a drought thus far.
exactly this
It’s literally February chill
RL already delayed to 3.23 ... their 4.0 plans will slip too because of that
Ready for another road to pyro at citizencon ? Last year we held the line this they let the answering machine handle it :p
We're literally two months in
Bro q1 patch is always april chill
I remember a time when backers would argue about having to drag every item over when looting. So they added a "loot all" button, and everyone cheered. A year later, Mike's comment section is griping about "loot all" functionality. Zzzzzzzzz.
To add, whoever said Tarkov is based. I Love Tarkov's looting system.
I've had little problems EVAing while vertical and being horizontal should be just another EVA mode (vert/slow, horz/fast)? ;-)
How about "F1, INDY, Racecar Driver" EVA pose (fast box moving)?
The hull crawler should either be thrown off or body slammed against the hull.
I'm guessing that Jared and his guests can't see "Daisy" floating by (green screen)?
THIS
ohhh you must have boosted them in post like you said. You kept bitching about them being low and I was like... they seem fine to me!
Yea I did
So the new player interaction is not integrated fully so we will need the old one and the new one at the same time to do certain things.. wow.. CIg are really the best at putting non completed content outhere and making the game a big mess.
The old one was never going away, and thank goodness because I prefer the old one to the new one. I like that they give us the option because I'm not a CoD player so I don't need the ADHD loot menu. The current inventory design works fine as it is for me, and I'm glad people like myself get to keep using it.
yes.. me personally i prefer the actual star m,ap than the one is comming ani think mini maps ar to gammy for me.
@@FulguroGeekAgreed. if some helmets don't have a mini-map or lack it, I will likely use those. I only need it for places I'm unfamiliar with or for places where I need to uncover the fog of war for navigation purposes.
the loot all if for the fast loot option which is the standard loot, the shift loot is in-depth full loot option. when while in fast loot the items that open up is a single panel with consumables, ammo, weapon swap ect. as seen in cit con. which is designed for fps fast resupply.
Standing seems covered by the aiming while prone/flying. Like lying on your back aiming upward.
Loot all dosnt really jive with there physicalised objects methodology
Its not like your going to be able to (or should be) able to hold hundred of objects like this is Elderscrools
I was playing cyberpunk the other day and I can loot a body before it hits the ground as I am fighting. That doesn't seem right for this game.
CIG has 13 years of history choosing complete garbage questions from Q&As, and more recently, even making up questions. This SCL was not surprising.
FREE Look in cockpit... hold push a button or toggle a button, as long as it's as smooth as free look. Currently, the Hold F look is very weird, feels like you have a stiff neck or something.
When games don't have a crosshair, people just... drew one on sticky tape and put that over their monitors. I'm willing to bet those people in Tarkov do the same. There's no point in not having crosshairs.
Almost impossible to watch.
The questions suck so badly I don’t even know who to be mad at, the crap questions or the fact they were chosen to be aired.
These devs are cool. I think CIG should really relate a nice schedule of topics, and then have a small quantity of user questions.
I just came to drop a comment, i am not watching this video. I felt these guys didnt know a damn thing, none of them sounded confident in anything they spoke on. not a good thing. also no one asked about armor looting.....
CIG needs to throw the whole idea of Viser colors being based on Brand in the fucking trash. yeah they can have a default set for the brand but end of the day color options for accesabilty should be a standard
They could have styling of the HUD based on the brand, and non-essential elements (Like logos etc.) can be in the brand colour without getting in the way of accessibility.
WHERE IS IT?
THE ROCKET.
(Bummed mike you no get this Rocketeer reference)
So, a apoint about vertical EVA in ST:MP and 2001, the EVA pack they were using was basically a chair they sat in. It's x,y,z reference was in that position. It sounds like our armors will have vector thrusters on all sides, no longer needing the "sitting" position for EVA. Think Space Shuttle spacewalk photo, as that was the inspiratrion for SciFi.
Having specific suits or armor for EVA sounds like it’s gonna suck ass to be honest.
just put a audio limiter on the video, you prob have that in your recording software
Freelook while in the cockpit will be sick awesome with the Tobii Eyetracker.
You watched the rocketeer, because of Jennifer Connely.
Lol told ya brother....this one was insufferable.
BB-12 when?
Yeah the med pen animation is getting old all ready lol
The guy with the F question is metagaming this so hard. He knows the best way to get this changed is to convince CR that it makes his game look better in machinimas. really high IQ we should try to do that with every request. Just sad that he missed the opportunity to mention Teranda.
i may not have the most popular opinion... even though i don't mind the idea of a "move all" from one inventory to another, i like the idea of a tactile hands on approach. which is why i like to loot off of armor skipping looting system whenever possible. it's faster (now) and makes me feel more connected to the game world. at points when the server fps allows NPC to function it has also helped to not have to exit a menu and reorient my sense of direction. personally, i just wanted to be able to click on the torso or legs and get a first person drag and drop. if it required flipping a body to get to backpack, then so be it, i'd minimize risk by clearing the area first or moving body somewhere safe.
this is combat looting in a nutshell, though. enemies move and rush. need and want are 2 different things, most armor looting is small meaningless consumables anyways, so (imo) people should decide to either risk looting NPC's lunch during combat, or just wait until after. or just not, because it's basically suicidal to do so... unless you REALLY NEED that granola bar lol... probably not, though. nothing is stopping people from just tractor beaming bodies back to their ship/loot container after in either scenario. tbh, i currently don't even bother looting NPC as it's a giant waste of time.
know the benefit of being able to swap entire loadout on body recovery. although, know the drawbacks of someone else instantly looting your entire inventory as well. regardless of perks and drawbacks, it does look odd and is distinctly detached from reality in a handwavium fashion. could keep it, or just say too bad, because you are now naked and are walking back into an area that just killed you, so armor up again and loot you own corpse like any other...
EVA looks cool, but parachutes don't work where there is no atmo. even then, the "atmo" could basically be sulfuric acid, so also doesn't help. gliders and wingsuits also need atmo to function... might not have an option but to go outside the box on this one. only problem with hanging out there is at least somewhat explaining what is actually happening.
and when you fast loot and open the pannel. and transition into future freelook while looting... thats only 23 degree or less of interactions. so tho it sounds nice it sounds like overkill. and like mike says, its more systems to create more errors. for a feature that does nearly nothing... unless that feature is important for something else lader on... like fast looting a locker where you need to look around inside a locker. were there might be a hidden lever or data pad inside the locker. then it make sense of why to have. but just for generic fast looting as an external that person is looking at things... sorta defeats the purpose of the fast loot in the first place.
Subscription to cover server costs. It is a must, or it will be Pay to Win always and the game will not attract new people.
I hate the selection circle, I want a nice list to use my mouse wheel to scroll between.
Glad to know this game is being built for Mouse and Keyboard, and not Console Controllers. By PC Gamers, FOR PC Gamers.
Re: sub structure, I think CIG are grooming the SC community for that right now with implementation of wave access perk based on sub tiers.
nesasry Subscription is a good way to kill this game, Its an outdated model no one would support
@@UnderdogSMOyup, anything subscription when it comes to games is a killer for me.
There is no game outside of WoW that has managed a successful subscriptoin model in today's era. They do better with customisations microtranstions.
EvE is subscription based and in their entire history never had a year where they earned as much as CIG does. Starter Packs will still be for sale and those alone can fund the game without needing monthly subs to pay server costs when you include other revenue streams like Squadron 42..etc
Loved the Rocketer
12:30 eurgh you are so right about these questions being annoying, but a reminder they CHOSE to take the machinima question second!
Yeah Davinci has an equalize audio button. Its very helpful lol
The sucking on the cup just to be annoying to prove he can be was disgusting I had to skip it. I've actually completely stopped playing Star Citizen but I keep up on its content and I honestly hate Jared I think he's like that ingrained manager ruining the company but he's best friends with the boss LOL. The reason the sound quality is so low is because the chubby guy Jared behind the desk was harassing the sound people
He's just a spokesperson, don't think he manages any staff or makes design decisions.
Awesome stream, enjoyed it!
weight and mass are different.
Omg they’re always building up certain teams. It’s such complete bullshit.
This SCL has actually proven to me that this is a cult. The carrot is always dangled.
we dont need Hide UI because it already go's away in 3rd person. which is why we still have 3rd person.... marketing "but you want to see your pretty ships" bla
we spend 90% of our time looking at out ship while flying it. So 3rd person is there to stay : we want to look at our shinies.
The UI thing is a big one.
Just have a button to turn it off.
They have to get it working first.
But do I need a label for the massive ship that's right in front of me?
I know it's mine, I just parked it and it blocks out the sun. I won't loose it, promise...
Lol😂
Why not just make toggled eva stances.
8:25
Ok.. I just have to say...
... that's a copout.
Now I don't expect "perfect" physics but what I can say is that I had an incredible amount of fun flying modified "Sci-Fi" ships in Orbiter. Flying the Millennium Falcon down to an earth sized earth... with true physics was a wonderful experience. Learning orbital dynamics, rendezvous and docking maneuvers... just a joy to do. Challenging and it WAS a game even though it emulated what happens IRL.
So no... I'm not buying this one.. sorry.
I am happy for you.... But this is an mmo about player interactions. Newtonian physics would put all players into different frames of reference which would make the possibility/ease of players interacting really low/difficult. Sometimes a game question has a GAMEPLAY answer 😂
So you basically want the servers to further crap themselves whenever anyone starts flying a ship?
@@hephaestion12 Why do you feel it would put them in different frames of reference?
In point of fact what we see now does that... does it not? It separates what is happening physically to your ship at Tressler from what is happening to ships around Microtech instead of having everything contain its own gravitational influences as it naturally would.
This interaction would take some skill to navigate... as I stated before. But this was actually a joy to learn and even Orbiter did fudge some things to keep the calculations manageable.
I expect there are some tricks that could be employed to lower the stress on the servers and make it "seem" like this was happening while at the same time having influences calculated by your computer based on proximity to other large bodies and thus not cause the servers to combust.
So my point is that there ARE ways to do this and even if these are impractical for Star Citizen to do, don't tell me that this kind of thing "Isn't fun"... because I can assure you it most certainly is fun.
@@Billy-bc8pk Not at all. As I replied to that other gentleman.. if this kind of thing is an impossibility for them to do I'm willing to accept that. Just don't blow smoke up my ass and tell me the reason you aren't doing it is because it wouldn't be fun.
I can assure you it is fun. It is challenging and it most certainly is rewarding to master... and fun.
@@twelvewingproductions7508 if you have essentially no speed limits all speed is relative (there is no global object we all measure speed against). That means that two objects would need to match velocities somehow. This needs to be very intentional by the players, and gets more annoying the more players you have. I think the reason they think it will not be fun is because in an mmo you need players to stay somewhat near each other to interact, even when some players might not want that because they are being pirated or whatever. I think the argument is a bit similar to the reason master modes is supposed to be more fun - bringing speeds of players closer together brings them closer to each other.
The developer in the back is painful to listen to. It’s like he’s suppressing needing to take a massive BM.
Yeah, maybe because not everyone's mother language is english? Leave the man be.
@@woodybear3823 LMAO neither is most of the development team at CIG, but they don't sound like a less articulate Milton from Office Space.
