I had my aortic dissection the day before you had yours. I was also a very fit runner and regular cyclist. In A&E I just kept getting asked if I smoked, or ever had done, which I hadn't. It took nearly thirty six agonising hours before I was finally diagnosed, and then rushed into surgery. However, despite an aortic arch replacement two years ago I seem reasonably well, although more surgery still seems likely.

An utterly inspiring talk, thanks Mandy.
