    I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

    Great video with a lot of detail. I rebuilt my Cub Cadet Zero Turn mower this summer (2021) which included new spindles. However, i did not use the self-tapping screws that came with the new spindles. Rather, I tapped the new spindles with 1/4" threads & used 1/4" stainless steel bolts and nuts. The reason for this was becuse the old spindles had self tapping steel bolts that were frozen solid in place and when I tried to remove them all of the bolt heads snapped off. This was due to the bolts being made out of steel & the spindles being made out of aluminum.

    Just replace the spindles on a 46" deck and found that the new spindles came with grease fittings as I see yours do. The dealer said it probably has grease in but I should add some. I found out its possible to put enough grease in it to cause the bearings to protrude, luckily I was able to re-seat them when bolting the blade and pulley back on...Hope this helps any future backyard mechanics like me...

    I hit a rock while mowing and afterwards the mower wasn't mowing even and was making a low cut track in the grass when I mowed so I changed the blades out, but after doing so I noticed when I mowed after changing the blades the mower was still marking up my lawn with an low cut mark coming from the left side blade. What is the likely hood that when I hit the rock it bent the spindle shaft and will need to replace it since I ruled out a bent blade? ...... I thought it was odd that when I compared the old blades I took off to the new blades I put on and found that the old blades wasn't bent but after mowing the mower was still leaving an uneven cut mark.....

    • @RealManSkills
      @RealManSkills  6 лет назад

      This unit did not have those spacer/rings when I got it. It's possible that a previous repair person didn't put them back. It was evident that somebody else had done some work that wasn't quite right. Although, some Husqvarna/Poulan/Craftsman mowers have them and some don't. Thanks for watching.

      This video was posted back in 2017, so I no longer have the detailed part numbers of this project. However, if you have the model of your mower, you can easily search for parts. One possibility for spindle is Spindle Assembly 587820301. But do not rely on this number without verifying that it's the correct part number for you mower. Thanks for watching.

      I don't know exactly what parts you are referring too. However, a common place for spindles to break is the little bit that the screw goes into. I use a locking pliers (vise grip) to hold the broken piece, while I remove the bolt. Hope that helps.
