Tim Walz mentioned them the other night on a late nite talk show... I was so happy they got some props from a (vise) presidential candidate! Suddenly my entire youth felt validated
The ladies in the crowd. "OMG Henry You should have seen that devil rock they made us listen to" in my best midwestern old lady voice. Saw them before this TV appearance on the Wig Out East tour.
Thing is, it's loud, fast, and noisy, but it actually sounds quite sweet amd melodic at the same time. Like the early Beatles. Patronising to think tge audience couldn't enjoy it on some level
@@edwardgiovannelli5191 I think he was thinking of Philadelphia. Having attended those shows, I'm sure he wasn't thinking of anything besides Philadelphia.
@@saturn11 I don't know if a guy from Minneapolis would really differentiate between Philly and Trenton, its all the philly area, but, hey, we'll never know.
Going along thinking this is a cool video of the band early on in their career then when they cut to the audience clapping I absolutely lost my shit...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg this was bad. First he says something about a fan getting on stage like it's a big deal , then he says so grant just " wacked him off " all inghe first couple of minutes
Playing gentley for the hometown locals.....lovely!
Husker Du: too cool for the 80’s, too cool for the mainstream and too cool for this planet
Whoever booked that was crazy.
❤
thats what was cool about local and cable access shows
Wrong, they are a genius!
Incredible find! The interviewer surprisingly asked some pretty good questions

This is why I love RUclips.
Well here's something you don't see every day. Up next, Slayer playing Hell Awaits, on Good Morning America.
😂
Lol
One of the best bands ever
got that goddamned right. Them, Killing Joke and The Replacements saved me from listening to Fleetwood Mac and Tiffany through the eighties!
One of the greatest to come out of Minnesota.
how does this not have 20 million views?
Surreal show! The juxtaposition of some nice music and the purple hair rinse audience cracked me up… 😂
Purple. Yellow. White. Beehives. Geez
thx for posting. ...... love the audience..........remind me of Tim and Eric
Sounds from 10+ years later... that band was something else!
Bob rocking the shades and the flying-V like he don't give a f**k
He didn't then and still doesn't. Cool guy
you kidding? that is textbook give a fuck
Surreal
Awesome from the vault video... back then not many people knew about them & thought they were called husker something...
1:35 Classic punk rock chicks pogoing ✔️

All the old ladies had something new to talk about at their next Bridge game
Not your typical local morning show fare...
“Oh Betty, I’d like to riot right now.”
“Now Lucille, don’t go doing that, you just had your hip replacement.”
Great post!! Saw them in Northampton Mass in 80s...
This is such a great interview.
They should have played something from "Land Speed Record". The riot thing would have made more sense to the host.
This is the only live version I've ever heard.
Sorry.
yeah same i didn’t know they played this live till now
Thanks

"Every show in Philadelphia" (flashes wry smile). Truth.
They had a few at City Gardens that were less than, uhmm, peaceful, I wonder if that's what he was talking about.

Something odd when 30 and 40 year old house wives clap to Husker DU..
The audience…. Unreal…..
They look like proud but confused moms.
@@monkeysrighthand Lol
Politely smiling, clapping fools who hated every minute of it 😂
oh, wow!
Hilarious!
Going along thinking this is a cool video of the band early on in their career then when they cut to the audience clapping
I absolutely lost my shit...🤣🤣🤣🤣
I bet the guys in the audience were in fact slamdancing
I would too
It's such a WTF scenario that it is a bit unsettling, like a fake TV show by way of a cult movie.
They must have flipped some wigs playing on this show!
Ha ha not your average HD crowd.
He's no Joan Rivers.
I kinda like the host in a weird way
This was a great local show throughout the 80s, but I’m reminded of this scene: ruclips.net/video/d1q-zeqh3AI/видео.htmlsi=r_t8lWhE0r-wXEzO
Wow, this is a trip. Nirvana spent half a million dollars putting together that fake 60s video recreation, Husker Du surpassed them here for free.
This is not Fleetwood Mac!
My all-time favorite band …in the cringiest setting imaginable.
