It might as well be a dream. Nobody dies in this franchise. They die then come back to life next episode. Enemies become friends next episode. It's getting repetitive.
This franchise lost its way after paul walkers passing. They should of stop at 7

A nickel for every time it was said in this single movie can fund 3 more. I can't remember it being used this much in any of the other movies.
I love the family theme because its a very compelling reason for the team to be very protective, to go all out and fight to death. Its more appealing to women audience as compared to just cars and drag racing and fighting scenes. 🤩😍
They should've added that shotgun trucker from the first movie to the family.

my biggest gripe with the movie was that throughout the entire film dom doesn’t even ONCE drop a sweat, he literally drove a car down a dam with flames chasing onto him crashed into the water and still didn’t even get a single scar. he came out the movie exactly the same way he looked from the start

He actually played a really great scary villain in Bullet to the Head, a Sylvester Stallone movie… One of his first major roles after thrones. So disappointing to hear he was so bad in this…
It wasn’t bad. It was actually kinda fun. What turned it into garbage was them trying to pretend they could make us think they killed everybody off…and then they show us Giselle is back. Like wtf.
I found it even worse than f9. Boring af - terrible action, characters, plot, and dialogue. Not even the cars seem cool anymore. The John cena car was interesting I guess.

I loved it. Some really good action that's better than everything in any other movie. Sorry kiddies, this is what they used to call an action movie before they all started getting dumbed down with stupid plot. Fast x was fun, simple as that. Ppl are acting like the first 3 films were respectable. It was a trendy race car movies that nearly went to direct to video. I'm glad they keep going bigger.

A plane crash may be strong, but family is stronger. Tej, Roman, and Ramsay will survive that crash because of the power of family granting Dom the Infinity Stones and Gauntlet to revive them

You made some really really good points that the Fast people should take note of. I honestly did not enjoy the movie and just wanted to know how it would end. I didn't expect a Fast movie with consistent plot but man it was truly bad. Aime's partnership with Dante made the whole Rio bridge scene ridiculous. Cipher and Dante's beef was unjustified. They should also stop bringing back dead characters. I felt like Watson in Sherlock when he came back from the dead. We all made our peace with Han's and Giselle's death but now they're back? John Cena's death was also like meh. At least give him an out like Merlin in Kingsman. They failed to press on Tokyo Drift's potential. Although I like Dante's character, I feel he's sort of cliche now. At this point, I am gonna see the next Fast films just to give myself closure.

The soul of the franchise was always Paul Walker's Brian O'Connor. He was the one we as the audience could relate to in Fast and Furious movie. Once Paul died and Brian was written off, it never was the same to be honest. Furious 7 was the last time I was invested in a Fast and Furious movie and even though 8 and 9 had some great moments, it was not the same. Really does say a lot when the only thing I loved about Fast X is when Dom was looking at those old photos in his garage and the See You Again instrumental kicks in and also when Dom saved Elena's sister Isabella and gave the cop and a street racer have a lot in common speech.

I wish they would have actually wrapped his character up instead of saying "We can't involve him" or "He's safe" for 3 more movies.

Tokyo Drift is the most raw street racing film back in the days the techinality of the Drifting race and how they dont just depend on using NOS to win. Its not about just the speed in tokyo drift but timing and precision. People who dont like Tokyo Drift are the stereotype "Street Racing Fanatic".
Couldn't have said it better. I love TD. Its so just fun and until that I never heard of drifting. So underrated.
I love these stupid nonsense movies, I would give it a 7/10 for just being entertained by the absurd and illogical mess of a film. Plus watching it with the boiz and laughing along to all the stupid things and sharing that experience together was worth the ticket price :D

I have this one crazy theory. What is most absurd thing they haven't done yet? Time travel. I think that everybody is dead, but somehow Dom and Hobbs are going back in time and will save everybody. We joked that they would go to space, and they actually did. Well next step to absolute madness is time travel.
Mamoa was superb in this. Definitely the highlight of the film, why the apparent upset of vin for Jason stealing the show, I don't understand, you WANT an interesting villain don't you? To keep people on their toes 😂

I think we're retroactively rewriting history here a lil bit. Fust and Furious 6 and Furious 7 were well loved, and even Fate of the Furious was a mixed bag, it was only at F9 that the majority of the audience started considering it bad. Saying that they were hated from the start is misrepresenting the audience's perception of the franchise.
Agreed. It's not a popular opinion but I loved Tokyo Drift and everything after through 7. Once Paul Walker wash gone it lost it's heart. 7 was awesome! Thankfully they pushed past 2 which was an absolute shit show.

F9 is very much the worst movie in the franchise, I already know these movies won’t be great, but yet I was very disappointed with how much I didn’t enjoy it, The Fate of the Furious is better, but the second worst movie, thankfully I enjoyed Fast X, it’s not a good movie but I haven’t had as much fun watching a Fast & Furious movie in a while, it’s still The third worst movie.
It’s about family, and that’s what’s so special about it.

I only saw the first two F&F films; and quite frankly, I barely remember the second one, so I actually did a double take when Movie Overload mentioned "Pontiac in space". 😳😲

My biggest annoyance is the fact that multiple people had the chance to easily kill Danté, and they just didn't, without good reasons

I went into this film expecting to really not like Jason Mamoa’s character but I ended up really liking him. His energy was great and he was actually convincing!! Loved it. If I’m honest, this film was definitely a step up in terms of entertainment but I have nothing positive to say about Giselle coming back. Why is she back?! 🤣🤣 she fell off a speeding aircraft .. and dropped onto concrete 🤣🤣 nah she dead.

the first fast and furious is actually really good over the years, i guess it's because the movie didn't know it would turn into a huge franchise at the time. it's not self aware yet. undercover cop befriends the people he's supposed to put away in a 'point break' kinda way. Thrills galore.
Honestly it really wasn't that bad of a film once u accept that the fast series is what it is... Also it's definitely better than part 9

Imagine, Dom steals an old Camaro to make his get away but gets surrounded.then just when the bad guys are about to blast him away the car transforms into bumblebee to save his ass. The fact that we knew Han was going to die made the Han and Giselle pairing all the more bittersweet in the beginning, but no, everyone comes back to life somehow
My favourite part was that dante's plan had an a-z but they kept saying that the next plan was the real plan every time he fails
Olive Garden, when you're here you're family.
Fast X has 2 positives for me. First Daniella Melchior is incredible. She had a small role in the movie, but when her moment was shown in the house, she showed us why she is a great actress. I just only watched the movie, because of her. I hope she will appear in more other movies. Second positive is John Cena, I really liked him here, it was like he brought his Peacemaker energy here.
Altough the whole movie exhausted me and at the I became freaking pissed when they brought Giselle back. I wonder how they are going to explain it. I bet she is an identical twin of the original Giselle and they can make scenes like Star-Lord and new Gamora and in Fast X third part she will say “I bet we were fun”.
Nah it’s definitely OG Giselle, she survived for a reason that didn’t make sense like Han.

To be honest all charachters who died and revived doesn’t make sense. Han had a protegé in the previous movie. Where is she now? Or she was just a McGuffin and a reason why Han didn’t make touch with the Family?
I hate when they bring back charachters, because tha fans love them.
The critics who are trying to be all super artistic and sophisticated with the Fast series are the same ones who critiqued the Mario Bros film.
I believe it was explained in the movie that Dante was in and out of mental institutions in the past so he's probably just nuts.

Shaw at the end of Fast 9 and it was at night. In Fast 10 he has hair and it’s morning
Yep. They didn't even bother trying to make it consistent. The other thing that really angered me about it is that they set up that post credit scene in the last movie like Han was actually going to confront Deckard Shaw about him attempting to kill him and the rest of the family but then in Fast X it's almost like he ended up there randomly and it wasn't serious at all and nothing got resolved at all. It was just a throwaway scene to pad out the movie's run time.
Han is my favorite Fast & Furious character and to see them not even care enough about making his scenes and setups consistent just tells me that the writers/directors of this movie no longer care about trying to make anything make sense anymore or even properly attempt to set up drama anymore. It's all just pointless explosions and nonsense now with a reenactment of Jesus Christ rising from the dead every 2 or 3 films because why not. It's so dumb.

We still need to know won between Sean and Dom. I feel like it should’ve ended after Furious 7 because the franchise is done without Paul Walker
Honestly if you came to any Fast movie and expected something great then you came to the wrong movies to begin with. Fast X was a really fun movie with awesome action. I thought they tied in Dante pretty good. Seeing Hobbs return wasn’t a surprise to me but it was funny considering the past beef. Overall for me Fast X was a 8/10. Really fun and enjoyable time and that’s all I look for in these movies.

I thought it was just me but I agree, Jason Momoa was by far the best part of the movie.

He carried the whole movie. He make it very enjoyable. Diesel was insufferable.
He played one of the best villians I've seen in a movie in quite awhile. Out of all the cookie cutter plastic preformances he actually created a real character. He created this over the top villian like in a bond film. The movie just is so over the top and unbelievable that its now to the point of absurity. In an action movie there is always a sense of disbelief of course but these movies go way beyond that point. I mean Arnold taking on an Army yeah that is pretty ridiculous but these movies have gone beyond that with the car stunts and all the crashes. Also so they were car racers ran basic heists but now they're super spies? I mean in one way it kind of is the urban James Bond films but its just so out there. Also you know some how at the end they'll all survive as always. There are no real stakes in the series. The car in space as well? As the franchise goes the first three films were good because they were all different. I liked the fish out of water idea in the third though then they changed the timeline.

Well Fast 6 - 9 is all one big story Ciphers Story how Cipher wanted to work with deckard shaw however he said no so what did cipher do? she targetted his younger brother, which would kinda explain how cipher knows giselle and saved her, like giselle saved letty, in fast 7 Cipher's plan worked Deckard shaw is indirectly working with her and her new partner mose jakande, Fast 8 Cipher decided okay you want something done right do it yourself she went to dom directly and blackmailed him into working with her, Fast 9 She corrupted Jakob to do her bidding Fast X is starting the Reyes family vs Toretto Family

Once Vin started talking about spin-offs, I knew they were going in the "cinematic universe" direction. This film is already doing crazy well, and if the holiday weekend is any indication, it will have a fantastic hold. I can't wait for the next one if glfor no other reason where the hell the story goes from here. Something Something family.
I would argue the film did not do "crazy well" 2 weeks ago when this was posted. I think the opening weekend showed plenty of reasons for concern. The world wide total looked solid, but you can't ignore that shrinking domestic opening. And you had to expect at least around a 65% drop in week 2. The only hope this film had is to have crazy legs internationally, but it didn't. With the inflated budget this film is going to lose money at the box office.

It pulled in $700 million same as last one so didn't do bad. The show doesn't need a story but just show the car stunts.
@@jonfreeman9682 Not true. The F9 had a reported budget of $200-225 million. Fast X budget ballooned to $350 mililon! That budget set it up for failure. Fast 8 did 1.2 billion in comparison.
That shows you do need a decent story. Fast 8-10 have been garbage and as a result have had diminishing returns. I mean Fast X made about half of Fast 8.
@@faz1483 That's crazy stupid money they're spending no wonder they barely breakeven. But you're right the story is getting repetitive. They've settled into formula. Introduce new baddie fight then become BFF in sequel. Kill off key character then pull a fake out and they're back. So yeah the story drags and fans have bailed. But other movies are struggling the same. Transformers, Flash, Indy so maybe viewers want fresh ideas.
What ruined the movies of this saga for me is the trailers just gives away too much.
That's an industry wide issue to be fair.
I wonder how Dom survives this one. They probably going to show that Dom escaped that situation with his kid by showing his family jumped out of that plane with their cars and saved him before he got tsunamaied and they come back after Dante makes that call to kill him which will be in the next one

The last one I saw was 7 and.. I think that ending should have been the end to the franchise. Just end it right there with Dom and Brian driving off into separate paths. It was even spiritual.. Because it doesn't make sense to continue the series without PW.
This movie was hard to watch. Vin takes it so seriously and every time he shows up made me roll my eyes. I was a big Fast fan but the writing is so bad on this film. I really hated how a villain somehow knew what things were going to happen even if the plan didn't turned out the way they originally planned. Like somehow the characters knew that a random event was going to happen so they planned ahead something else to counteract. It was dumb and the story didn't make sense.
He had a scene explaining to dom he's studied him. For years Dante sat in the shadows watching.

Now comparing it to its earlier self is where the problem is because it was a great movie in the beginning but NOW.... and Fast X is the tip off the cliff....

this was my first fast movie because my mom wanted to see it. It expected it to be worse but I had a good time watching it especially with Jason Mamoa's character. Im assuming it's not at all as good if you have seen other fast and furious movies

I wasn’t interested in this movie at all but gave it a try. honestly, Jason Momoa was the only interesting guy in the whole movie. his acting was really good and enjoyable.

The fast saga is like when your scrolling through Netflix there’s nothing you can find that’s good because you’ve seen 90% of things 100 times ie the first 4 so you’ll watch something you haven’t seen cause you haven’t seen it ie the last 6
It's been that way since Fast 7. It was painfull to watch, it took all my strength to get to the end, that last scene with Paul. It' s been down hill ever since. I' m surprised you even took the time to watch Fast X.
I liked it. The cliffhanger ending was pretty lame and Giselle being alive was irritating. I’d actually forgotten that she was dead, it’s been a while.

At least one of what Fast X has that's always a positive that none of the movies I've seen so far is that it doesn't go woke( women being the leader and men being dumb and stupid) like all these movies are portraying these days and also Fast X is a good movie and I'll give it a solid 7.5 out of 10.

Those who got killed need to stay dead. Cena, Luda, Tyrese, black chick, and Han. They gotta stay dead. But judging from the fact that they brought back Gal Gadot, I’m not holding out hope.
If you're looking for some sort of deep meaningful storyline from this movie then that's on you. At this point, everyone should already know that this franchise to just be one of those "turn off your brain and enjoy" kind of movie. Plus, this doesn't have all the woke bs Hollywood is peddling around these days, which is a big plus.
Who said they were looking for a deep meaningful story line lol? People simply want a competently made film with a good story. Fast 6-7 was turn off your brain fun. And the audience rewarded it. This narrative that people don't like Fast X because it's not deep story telling is false. Almost every piece of dialogue is cringe worthy. And it's simply bad story telling. Difference between "dumb fun" and a straight up bad film. This is a bad movie. And you can look at the box office and confirm a large portion of the audience is in agreement.
Usually when idiots complain about "woke" movies it's because of diversity. I'm curious why this gets a pass...is it because of the big man muscles?

I walked out 30 minutes into it. It was beyond ridiculous.
Compared to the last one, i actually think this one is pretty good. We all know nowadays the stunts are a little more unrealistic but overall i thought it was still good. Also, Jason’s performance was superb and hella , i actually liked the fact that it was a little more gruesome and less child friendly in certain moments.

Personally I loved it, and have seen it twice. Throught pain of love for the first F&F movie I accepted what F&F had become in fast 5, I know exactly what I'm getting when I go to see a fast film, and to be honest the less "crazy shit" the better, and because of that, it's a way better film than 9 and 8, so that's a good start. For me, it's about 5 best in the series.

Yeah, Fast X is a step up from the last two movies, especially F9 which I don’t like. I would hope they can focus less on the action and more of the story, but considering that the finale is coming up with the last two films, I’m not expecting much, all I expect is an entertaining movie which Fast X definitely delivered.

@@movieoverload I was just looking for objectivity. I made my comment specifically BECAUSE you did clearly state "if you enjoyed it, then have fun" multiple times in some fashion. It makes all the times when you tell the viewer how to feel seem empty or forced in just to keep the people who enjoyed it from attacking you. Confusing at the very least.
Your video is the 6th review/essay/critique that I've seen for Fast X and every single one has the author telling us how we should feel. This movie is a goldmine for critique yet no one has yet to scratch the surface.

I thought this one was actually better than 9 at least, and maybe even 8. I get Jason Momoa was trying to have fun with it and not take it seriously, but holy shit did he dial the crazy/goofiness way up lol. My man was essentially playing the Joker in a F&F movie. And personally, I wasn’t feeling it. They did explain why in the middle of the movie so I did understand. But it was just so weird seeing someone like Jason Momoa playing that kind of role. Also, you know Tej and the rest of them aren’t dead. They’ll have miraculously survived and come back in the next movie lol. I do think Jacob is actually dead though which was lowkey sad. But then again idk because, like you said, death doesn’t mean shit and has no weight in this franchise lol. But either way I’m looking forward to the next one.
