Totally agree with your point on adaptations to other media, each medium has different strengths and weaknesses, and book to film is harder to do in many ways if for no other reason than time constraints so can't show nuance. Not one I have read/watched, and likely won't. Great thoughts ❤
Yeah, this isn't a book I would recommend if you were looking for a romance story. I'm pretty picky about the romance books I enjoy. I don't think I would have picked this one up had it not been a book club selection, even without knowing the incorrect genre labeling. I have found that I tend to enjoy TV adaptations more than film for those exact reasons. Give the story time and space to spread out and have the audience enjoy the characters and the story, much like reading a book itself. Thanks for watching! 💜

Yeah, this isn't a book I would recommend if you were looking for a romance story. I'm pretty picky about the romance books I enjoy. I don't think I would have picked this one up had it not been a book club selection, even without knowing the incorrect genre labeling.
I have found that I tend to enjoy TV adaptations more than film for those exact reasons. Give the story time and space to spread out and have the audience enjoy the characters and the story, much like reading a book itself.
