The way that commentary fade a little bit at the end and smoothly transition to Mr. Brightside intro playing at the back with the cut right at the moment Declan Rice celebrating on the big screen, this is definitely one of the greatest moment in the history of England, perhaps second only to when they won the WW1 😂
thats one of those moments you sort of make up in your head - made real - your favourite song soundtracking a moment perfectly. I cant stand football but kudos to The Killers. Well played (the band).
Even though we lost the final.. I've never been so proud to be an English man then 14th July.... the whole tournament just made me fall in love with England again
I like how there is kind of a switch from most passionate Killers audience to most passionate football fans and back! - This for sure is a British thing! Not well deserved when you look at the preliminaries, but you beat the dutch and played decent for the first time in the tournament. As a german I hope you beat the Iberians and will be victorious at the EUROs for the first time. Good Luck Three Lions.
@@leebrowne4433 No goal, think they switched the screens on a few moments after. The goal was what 89.55 ? I think the screens switched at around 91 minutes. So around 3 minutes of the game. I think he stopped a song short then dropped another, if you hear him say to the band to play Runaways after Brightside - he changed the set. It's clear they had prepared for this, holding Mr Brightside back and the canons in case it happened, the AV guy didn't suddenly conjour up a live feed. It was a biblically cool moment. We knewe something was happening (the late goal) when they were doing a slower number and you could hear the crowd build in noise unrelated to the song. I guess the mixing desk just messaged him - Brandon, it's on ! He spoke to the bass player (I think) and it all happened. Honestly the coolest thing I've ever seen, it was mad.
@@leebrowne4433 what you see in the clip is almost all of the football that was broadcast - I started filming around 15 - 20 seconds after the live feed came up on the screen. Some fans had the games on their phones already from what I could make out where I was sitting lol - so I think some of the crowd already knew, but a lot didn't judging from the pandemonium when all of a sudden the game comes on the screen and it's ENGLAND 2 : Netherlands 1!
Me too ! I told my wife the day before they'd do this. ButI called it at penalties and said they'd cover World In Motion. I don't mind being a bit wrong ! The best moment I've ever had a gig ever.
It took me a couple listens - he shouts out “Light ‘em up Steven!” Steven Douglas is their lights and effects designer/engineer: www.chauvetprofessional.com/news/im-with-the-band-steven-douglas-and-the-killers/
@@nicholas_orloffThanks for that. This tour has been so spectacular visually that I’d wondered if they still had the Irish guy. What a night to be there and what a thing for them to do live when nobody knew what the result would be ❤
Imagine if you have zero interest in football and went out to a gig, only to have football. Ya mean, the fact people bought tickets to a gig instead of watching the footy likely suggests they weren’t that arsed. Haha!
I would be one of those people lol…but the way the band did it was pretty awesome, they planned for this scenario ahead of time and launched into their biggest hit the second the match ended. What you see in the clip is pretty much all of the football actually played - about 2.5 minutes. It was a unique experience and I love that about live shows.
Even if you don’t like Football, it was five minutes of your life. Hopefully you like seeing other people happy? That was literally a once in a lifetime result. So even if you don’t like football, you still got to witness history.
@@DC11373 It was really epic - one of the best concert moments I've experienced and I've been to a loooooot of concerts. You had 30,000 people around simultaneously on a double massive high of an England win and Mr Brightside. These guys know how to perform and get the crowd involved, I was not expecting it to be this amazing - got tickets to the show since my partner is a massive fan.
I’d imagine 95% of the crowd bought tickets well before they knew England would be playing on the night, and I’d guess 95% of the crowd had a night they’ll never forget even if they aren’t football fans
Hahaha they're such a naff band for the accountants & insurance clerks of the world to sing along too. And they'd all sing better than the actual bloke too.
I wasn't there and I don't care for football, but my goodness what a reaction from fans of The Killers! I genuinely shed a tear.
Wow I would have given anything to experience that, how incredible. I hope everyone enjoyed it 🏴
The most British non-British band
Indeed
I CAN FEEL THE ENERGY THROUGH RUclips I CAN ONLY IMAGINE IN PERSON AND BEING A FOOTBALL FAN. GOOSEBUMPS JUST WATCHING

He says “light ‘em up Steven!” He wants the crowd to be lit up so he can see them.
Ha the unofficial national anthem 🎉
I'll be like I came here to listen to music not watching football
They only watched like 3 mins of it
