- The Killers playing in London on 10/07/24 paused their show to watch England go through to the Euro 2024 final and immediately followed with Mr Brightside
A band that understands their audience like no one else
Their audience went to a concert instead of watching our biggest match since the Italy final. Fair enough, they can do whatever they like, but the people that went to the concert obviously aren't really bothered about the football.
More like stage managers choice, than the band.......
That said, the killers are an epic band and are bigger in the uk than than the states.
A lot of their early videos were filmed in London and Brandon was always a gent at his concerts. He doesn't have an ego.
So many other bands have done it
@@drejam2002 erm, remind me when they would have bought the tickets.... with the price of O2 concert tickets I somehow doubt they'd have just decided not to bother to attend because of a football match!!

Not much of a Killers fan, but the way they launched into Mr Brightside at that exact moment was perfect.

Anyone would think they'd rehearsed that with the England team.
People had bought their tickets months ago , perhaps the last chance to see The Killers live in the UK ....like someone said previous time to get rid of the horrendous Sweet Caroline replace it with Mr Brightside for england supporters .

The national anthem for Great Britain played straight after England's historic win in the footy is just perfection. Bravo Killers, bravo indeed. Outstanding.
I am still on a MASSIVE high from this. Had resigned myself to just hearing the result after. Unforgettable life moment. And Mr Brightside straight after. CLASS. I love them even more now.

It’s not just another show or crowd for them. They care about the people and actually live in the moment with them.
A lot of artists these days are just in ground hog day ticking each gig off to get to the next. Respect to these guys!

Ok firstly the killers are my sort of band but I was there with my hubby I got him tickets for crimbo,last yr but I can honestly say that was one of the best experiences of my life watching 20,00 plus people raising their hands as the whistle went in complete unison it was good of the band to do that but boy it was everything and more looking round the arena at that moment gave me chills and I may have got a bit emotional . X

I gotta say, their timing on picking up the start of Mr Brightside after the whistle was sublime. That little pause for breath, then into a big feelgood song.

That’s very generous of The Killers and beautifully choreographed. The Rolling Stones didn’t do that at Wembley Stadium , July 4 1990 when England played West Germany @ Italia90. We were relying on fans in the directors boxes signalling down the score when it went to penalties. Weird when a cheer went up mid song, then found out we’d lost. Quite surreal.
The power of music! What a moment for England, and then to be able to celebrate with such an iconic song with a stadium full of your fellow humans. I teared up immediately! Now let's take Sunday!

Curious as imagine there were some there that don’t watch footie because they were at a Killers concert when England were playing in a semi final and the ones that were there that were trying to avoid the score so they could watch it later at home must’ve been peed 😂

I don't have any interest in football, but it's really cool that they did this, it was probably a very special experience for fans of both football and The Killers!

When I saw The Killers at Notts, Battle Born tour, they just wandered on quietly, the big lights were on, people just milling about getting drinks n whatnot. BOOM. Straight into Mr Brightside. The most bizarre but amazing entrance I’ve ever seen at any gig ever. Cue absolute bedlam.
