- The Offworld Percussion Invader V3 Hybrid practice pad combines the features of the original Invader V3 with the optional accessories such as the snare puck of the BYOSphere pad. It also weighs 1lb less making it more portable.

Awesome. The V4 looks and sounds beautiful.
it really is a nice pad. it actually sounds better in person. for some reason it's hard to capture these pad sounds in the microphone
Ordered this pad with the VML top, the snare puck, and the deadening puck. Received it quickly, and absolutely LOVE IT!!!! If I want to put in pad time after the kids are in bed I just throw the blue foam pad from my ProLogix All-in-One pad on it; it deadens the articulation but STILL get the response of the 'snares'.
Sounds like a great set up!
Received mine in the mail today. Great pad! Flam7 went out of their way to make
sure I received the pad by sending it 2 day air mail. I now have both pads in the
above video. Both have the blue chameleon VML. Cool look. Offworld is second
to none in customer service and craftsmanship in my humble opinion. I owned the Byosphere and I must say that in my opinion the V3 Hybrid (V4 in the above video)
is not as loud and ear piercing as the Byosphere. I had to sell the Byosphere-way
too loud. For me and my hands- Offworld and Ram Pad are the two best pads on the market, especially when you factor in the all important customer service.
Cool. Yes, the Byosphere is definitely a more ear piercing loud
I literally just got a v3 the day this was uploaded. I'm so mad.
That sucks. YOu still have a great pad though.
@@SnareMan I still really like it because I got the Scott Johnson signature one.
YarnLimbs it’s good because you could work on the checks of rudiments👌
V3 is better than the v4 IMO. I own two v3s and would never want another pad I love them both!
Xymox must be shaking with fear right now
It would be hard to believe that Xymox cares about anything
SnareMan True that lol
Loving the content, you should revisit this one with their Snare Change module and compare it to the original snare puck! Keep up the awesome work!!
Thanks. Yea, I agree that would be a nice comparison. Unfortunately the only sent me the jingle puck.
I heard that Marines Hymn!!! Semper Fidelis 💪🏾
Great content I was definitely awaiting this video !!!!
If Offworld and Xymox had a baby.
The baby got the shipping speed from the offworld side of the family
I think offworld cheated cuz you’re never getting something this nice from Xymox
Miles McGann LMAO
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
@@miless17 xymox is trash. I had a prototype pad from 07 that lasted longer than any of their new products. The damn snare puck ripped out the bottom, hardware coming loose. Snare beads on the floor. I’ve got a baby boy trying to gobble them up.
Watch out Xymox!
rcp active pad is better than this but not xymox in my opinion. I think Xymox Reserve is the best pad you can get. But it is not worth 2 years to wait for so I would recommend the RCP.
@@DennisJohnsonDrummer Have your own opinion but mine is that rcp is the best deal. Xymox is the best quality but not good wait times. I totally recommend the active pad for someone looking for a good quality pad with snare sounds.
@@DennisJohnsonDrummer Yep, so agree to disagree?
@@hoppingh907 Yep.
@@hoppingh907 Nope.
It’s not as good as I thought it would be
It’s even better
I have watched your reviews of these pads around 3 times each
Thanks!
@@SnareMan Also, as you recommended I watched this video(again). I really love the sound of this pad. I don't know how to describe it besides saying it sounds very articulate.
@@SaneTheBro I agree.
@@SnareMan It also sounds best to me with no snares
And on a table
Geeeesh!!! Supe dope definitely considering this I like the size vs the other one them taking the other two and converging them both is 🔥🔥 can’t wait to get 1 thanks man God bless great content
Thanks! Good luck with them. The BYOSphere is definitely smaller and easy to carry around, but because its lighter can tend to bounce around on surfaces some compared to this one.
I have the v3 version but I put it on top of my Yamaha pad with the snare beads and I get the same sound
what does the laminate on the rcp pad feel like does it feel hard or does it sound plasticky like ther premium pad because im still considering to get the active snare pad with the laminate i hope to see rcp make a snare drum in the future like the hybrid snare because mine still has not come yet im not going to believe them anymore because earlier they said that backordereds are their top priority but i don't believe them anymore xymox has screwed me up again always

You can peel the laminate off and put it back on easy. Its weird its not sticky but it sticks to the dark matter
Yea, that's what I'm told. I didn't want to peel it off out of fear I wouldn't get it perfectly centered again.
@@SnareMan I understand that lol. My friend has the biosphere and takes it off all the time. He seems to get it centered pretty usually lol
@Chidozie Ejikeme the two pads are going to have a different sound no matter what because of the chamber on the bottom
Okay looking for some help here. I own the v3 pad and love it but it is a bit bulky and I travel a lot. I’m aware that they sell a 9.5” pad but that still is a little much to travel with. I wanted to possibly consider making my own mini version but wanted to know if anyone knew the exact material they use or what would be very similar. Also what could I use to make a small rim. Any and all help is much appreciated!
The only pad I've found as of 11/13 is the invader v3 hybrid. @snareman Is this what you have, or will there be an invader v4 hybrid?
Hmm, not sure why it's not out yet. I'm told it will be called the Invader Hybrid rather than the V4 hybrid
i love your videos. you should do a review on te offworld shuttle pad
They don’t make them anymore
drumchuck55 yea i know but you can still buy them some places
@@drumchuck55 I saw on the Facebook page where they are thinking about coming out with a Shuttle Pad again with the snare puck!
I have the original Shuttle and love it.
Update: the snare puck does not respond very well. Sold the pad. Bought a Drumslinger.
Offworld makes a great product but I feel Drumslinger makes a more realistic pad
based on my experience.
It sounds a lot more like a snare drum on a stand than it does on a table.
It's definitely a different sound in each condition
Hey, I know this is an old video, but i have some questions, do you still recommend this as a good practice pad? Also, what does VML do, and whats the difference between the shaker and the puck. Also, is there that much of a difference between the dampner and cymbal connector?
Not too old of a vid. Yes, I still think it's a great pad. The VML gives the pad a little more articulate sound and I think feel. The puck has the jingles on it where as I think the shaker has beads in it, but I haven't seen one in person. I think the dampener is essentially thinner version of the cymbal connector. If you put the cymbal connector in its too tall to put the pad on a table. The dampener is thinner but effectively does the same thing. Hope that helps.
@@SnareMan thanks! I just purchased one with vml a dampner, beads and the puck, should take me through highschool and the future after that! Im excited
@@__________________-________- Let me know how you like it
YES
How does the snare sound of the V4 compare to the RCP pad in person? Which one is the closest “crispness” to xymox if you had choose?
That's a tough one. I just put them both on the counter to compare. The RCP has the same ball bearing snare mechanism as the Xymox, although the Xymox is still a much tighter sound that that one. I played on them both for awhile and it's honestly hard to say. They are kind of similar, but different. On a stand they both sound more "loose" compared to on a firm surface like in this vid. The pads themselves just have different sound quality to them with the way their are constructed. I'd like to try at some point - you can tighten up the Offworld pad by adding another washer. I know this doesn't really answer the question, but it's really is hard to say. Neither is as crisp as the Xymox pad, but both are loose in different ways
SnareMan thank you for your response I really appreciate it! It sounds like the rcp is the best alternative to a xymox at least for me in terms of sound which is what I’m looking for the most. I just don’t feel like waiting potentially 1+ years for a xymox
@@TheBananaboatkid whatever you decide I would definitely not wait for a xymox if you actually want a pad
I bought a Xymox pad over a week ago, then I saw your videos about them too late but saw that you recommended this pad, I ordered this pad on Saturday and it’s scheduled to be delivered by Friday, I’m shocked at how Xymox treats everybody, I’m surprised they don’t show their faces ever. I’m excited for the hybrid on Friday, I got the snare and shaker puck, out of those two pucks, what would you recommend?
I've only tried the one puck so I'm not sure how the other one is.
Have you gotten your pad? What was your experience like with xymox?
I want to get the v3 hybrid but I want to get the shaker puck or the one with the beads inside of it instead of the snare puck do any of you have a preference is the shaker or the snare puck better
I didn't get to try the shaker puck so I'm not sure.
I have a few questions
does it feel realistic to a high tension snare drum? 1 - 10
where or how did you find that pad?
does the laminate make it feel more realistic?
how expensive is it?
LLUUKKEE 4 Life! I do know that the pad isn’t released at the moment. He probably has some sort of connection with Offworld Percussion. I believe that Offworld Percussion announced on Instagram that they would release the pad in about one or two weeks.
A one out of ten for real das IMO is a 9
Offworld percussion.com
The laminate makes it more snappy like an actual snare
Also a v3 is around 70 bucks I imagine the hybrid will be a bit more because of the pucks
Matthew Rios Offworld just announced on Instagram that the pricing on their hybrid pad will start at $100
Matthew Rios The pad is currently available to buy on their website. The sale price is $20 off.
I have to ask this but what snare lick do you play in your intro
I just make them up for the videos. I run through them a few times until I get a take I'm happy with. Same with the one at the end of the video. I've done it for the last few drumming vids at the beginning and end.
hey Mr. SnareMan, I was asking for a -ahead marching snare pad drum review, its cheap and has the snare chamber
I can't find any good video with the feel and sound of the pad. please make a video on the pad, thanks.
Hi. I'm happy to if I can get them to send me one.
@@SnareMan I know they have done on Amazon but I don’t really have the money to buy pads
Is the V4 available for purchase yet?
I’ve been looking and it dosent seem like it
what materials are they made of?
Noice!!
Thanks
Any chance you’ll get the shaker puck?
Probably not at this point
Can you PLEASE review the ahead s hoop snare pad, its really the only mainstream pad u havent reviewed
Let me see if I can get one
@@SnareManU da mannnn, ive heard it has a good snare feel and the snare mechanism is patented by xymox or somethin like that
@@rocketoil I sent them a message. I don't know if it's patented or not or maybe the patent has run out. I've see the same thing on other pads
Couldn't decide so i went with the reliable v3 with VML, too many reviews on the Ahead mencioned the laminate on the pad tearing after 2-3 months, i might still get it afterwards tho cus they say the snare sound and feel is similar to xymox, real snare
Which pad is louder? The byosphere or the invader hybrid?
The hybrid
@@SnareMan But is it as piercing as the Byosphere?
@@DennisJohnsonDrummer Well... Its still pretty darn loud, but I feel like BYOSphere is slightly more piercing. You could either do the V3 hybrid and get the snare puck for when you want that and the deadening puck for when you want less noise. Or just get the regular V3 which is definitely quieter
Which add on is the little puck at 10:37
It's this. ruclips.net/video/mRPWSrkqS1I/видео.html
@@SnareMan ok, thanks!!
@@drakecallaway3595 sounds like they should be available soon for purchase
@@SnareMan 😎
Is it out as of November 13th?
Check the website
Is this loud enough that you'd want to wear hearing protection while using it?
No, not quite that loud
it's still a pad, not a drum
Nope.
you should have a price on this pad by now so can you tell me the price on this pad or where i can buy it from
You could just check their website...
Is that the stellated octahedron folded out of a map in your background?
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/rpHlAUfEC_E/видео.html
Will this give you pad hands?
Pretty much any pad will
Maybe I’m just weird but I definitely didn’t like this version as much as the V3. I play on top of a snare a lot and this thing is horrible on a snare because of the 4 small pads on the base. The V3 actually stays in place and feels more solid, and feels better to play on as a result. Pretty disappointed but at least I got the cool purple one bed they ran out.
Does the v3 have a snare system
No.
Just the V4/Hybrid
@@SnareMan how expensive are those.
@@betlaux656 Apparently they aren't out yet, but should be $90ish
@@betlaux656 Here you go: shop.offworldpercussion.com/INVADER-V3-Hybrid-V3H.htm

Those 2 pads are not the same size
What music did you play?
It's an upcoming piece for Bluecoats alumni
@@SnareMan Thats really cool

Never been a fan of the V4 and all those magnetic inserts. None of them sound very good. Even the BYOS pad -- one of the loudest practice pads I've every tried.
The BYOS is indeed loud
