I like a guy who build his own motor.then u know its perfect.and fresh the way u wanted.no errors👌mazdaspeed for life
Thanks a lot !
Can feel the EXCITEMENT 😉 I remember when you were bummed months ago when she went down. All smiles now! I used to hate hearing it but as I got older I'm a believer.... EVERYTHING I MEAN EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON! Much respect to you and this time that Cameraman and as always Good Karma 👍👍! 👏👏👏
Thanks so much! I’m hoping this time around is much better
this MS6 going to be flawless .
So freaking stoked for this build! After everything you have gone through with this car, it's so awesome see this all come together again! Can't wait for the next update!
Thanks a lot Matt! That means a lot and I can’t wait to share more videos with you guys !
Nice engine. Also not enough speed 6 guys out here in Holland
Holland, Nederlands, Europe
For oil pump you can use the Ford EcoBoost oil pump no problem. I currently have now on my latest build and by looking at the oil pressure gauge I have I can tell there's no difference in oil pressure at each RPM point compared to the OEM one. Of course I'm using the same oil. Ford EcoBoost oil pump part# is F2GZ-6600-A. Got this one from Edge and another one for a spare block from SP63.
Absolutely you can . This one just came with the rebuild kit from edge
Great vid buddy. You will feel nervous and ecstatic at the same time when its in and you turn the key for the first time..hahha.. but im sure it will be all good bud..
Awesome content man! Stoked for the build. Keep it up!
Hell yeah dude! Excited for you!
Tha is so much !!!
Awesome stuff man! Brave to do this on your own. But you’ve got a great Team behind you to help get it done.
Keep up the good work!!
Thanks for the kind words !
That's so awesome, start up is so close!!!! Vince is a great camera guy
I can smell that first start burn off already !!
@@SpoolingUpPerformance HAHA!!!
Getting close n closer 👍
every master was once a beginner ... we all have to learn at some Point
That’s sooo true !
love the vids man, not enough speed6 guys out there
Much excite! Is your body ready? XD
It is ready !
Great video. It will be back in the car in no time. 👍🏻
First? Dope build, and yeah the 30 minutes between torque stepping up is essential, I have watched smart ass know it all’s break arp studs because they didn’t wait nearly long enough and then go several ft-lbs over the max suggested torque spec.
I think I was the one that told you about using an Allen key to install the head bolts and washers onto the head studs..... same as the rod trick... good stuff. Question how did you torque the oil pump gear since it keeps turning... I think your viewers might want to know since it might a little difficult for most..
Ahhhh yes you were the one that told me ! I can make a mention of how I did the TQ’ing of the gear. I improvised
Did your new pistons and rings make a slight scraping noise when turning crank by hand? I removed my piston and the rings and cylinder wall looked good - it just the noise of the rings that is throwing me...
Could it just be the new rings riding the de-glazed cylinder wall making a noise?
Probably that mixed with air from compression stroke
Can't wait to see this bad boy rip!
Did you tighten by hand and let the rtv ultra grey sit for an hour before torquing? Just so you know it won't leak...
Im so excited i feel like I'm building this thing lol
Haha that’s awesome
I couldn’t see in the video but did you put rtv on the last cam cap on the intake side next to the fuel pump?
Hey man love the video I have a 2004 Mazda 6 and I planned on putting the speed6 turbo kit on it. Would it be able to fit since I have the naturally aspirated 2.3L liter dohc engine
Ik that the first rs cranksaft can fit I have a friend bulging his speed3
Why did you choose 0.051" thick head gasket over OEM 0.030"? Do you want to lower compression ratio?
Enjoying the videos, amazing. Where u getting your OEM parts? thx
Thanks so much ! I had ordered it through edgeautosport
Hello, I can ask you a few questions about where you buy Mazda Genuine Parts
You can buy them right through us ! Email us at SpoolingUpPerformance@gmail.com
@@SpoolingUpPerformance thank you so much when i need i will connect with you by gmail. Right now it's not possible because of covid 19. :-)
Do L19s share the same torque spec? I think L19s are 70 lbs
Sick job bro. Just sick. I need to send you guys what I got in the mail. Wasn't for my vehicle but it should fit yours perfect. P.O. Box?
Shoot me an email Alex@spoolingupperformance.com
Can the speed6 head fit on a short block 2.3l na?
Is this engine still running? If so, how many miles?
Is the orange mark on the crankshaft pulley the 20th teeth that aligns with the crankshaft sensor?
Yessir ! The guys at speed perf6rmanc3 built the bottom end and they set it up so there is no guess work !
@@SpoolingUpPerformance awesome man thanks I’m currently working on a built block and I forgot what tooth the crankshaft pulley had to be align with the sensor! But at least I got it right ha ! Just needed to confirm it , Keep those good videos coming ! 👍🏻
@@nerygarcia978 absolutely man ! Best of luck
@@SpoolingUpPerformance thank you man ! You too !❤️👍🏻
Is this the same motor that’s in the speed 6 right now??
Yessir
Shouldn't the cometic be the custom MLX that kevin helped develop oddballmotorworks.com/products/oddball-mazdaspeed-3-6-mzr-2-3l-mlx-headgasket
First, don't assume HP numbers in title before it's running. You doomed the last one.
2nd, why didn't you go up to 2.5ltr bottom?
First, i wouldn’t normally assume but I know what it will make because it’s a proven combination. I’m actually being reserved because it could make more. I was making well over 600 with a wayyy smaller turbo and less motor.
2nd, there is no need really on this car (for me), the fastest mazdaspeeds in the world have 2.3’s. Proven
@@SpoolingUpPerformance I know the 2.3 is proven, but I've honestly been very interested in trying the 2.5 myself. Nishan's vids show how amazing the 2.5 can be, not as a function of max power (heck, all you have to do is turn up boost for more power), but in terms of a lower boost threshold and an overall more responsive powerband.
The extra displacement knocks hundreds of rpms off of boost threshold and quickens spool, which is definitely a huge win for larger-frame turbos. The axiom is still true, even for turbo cars: there's no replacement for displacement.
Well you guys are in for a treat then for the engine that’s going into the rx8 👀👀👀
Spooling Up Performance OH SNAP
