Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but in Epic NPC Man, isn't Bodger always giving out the quest to fetch his grandfather's hammer? Does that mean this adventure is happening before the events of that series?
I wanted to share a thought of mine, given it might be random. Thank you for making this into episodes and as well to caption the whole series. The hard work and dedication to make it possible for a Deaf viewer like myself. Upon seeing your series, I never know how or even know the game, and I was immediately hooked. Not just because of the idea about DnD but the crew behind this. Thanks to you, I feel confident that I can play. Accessible and entertaining is what I desire. Looking forward to rest of this series. Low key feels bad for Grinn in few previous episodes. Somebody help getting him laid! *Rolls for luck* Nat 1! Favorite moment? The screw ups in Honeywood!
That's awesome! I find the series way easier to watch than longer "straight" D&D vids too. Is there anything in the formatting of the captions that would make them better/easier to read? I know I can watch the vid muted but it's still kinda hard to spot problems when I already know what's being said. Want to know how to make subtitles as accessible as possible :)
@@Lorqu1n Thank you for asking, but actually, out of all series or RUclips or Facebook clips, this crew provides the best precise captions. Thanks to RUclips’s CC system, it has two English options, 1. Auto transcribe which I dislike because it isn’t manually typed to precise each individual’s talk. 2. Manual CC which is what I’ve been watching on. You know, when you click CC settings, there’s two English options. One auto and one just says English. I got no complaints! I agree with you on shorter episodes, I feel like they’re more dedicated, rather than going off impulsively. I enjoy 2-3 hours session but to my laziness, I don’t like to watch then pause and come back to it later. Watch in a sitting, done, then get the day going. Wait for a week and enjoy it again! Editing does impact a lot. Thanks for ensuring that accessibility is an important. If it wasn’t for that, I’ll be sitting here and lipread or don’t bother to watch.... tough to say so, but no CC, no video. Auto transcribe CC is ok ok, but manual typed in CC’s all best because like I mentioned, it has the crew’s input in what was actually said and represent each individual’s personality. I enjoyed that part so much.
To be fair, Adam is a sorcerer and thus just has so many spells and stuff. A barbarian on the other hand has a very simple load-out of abilities. I think its even the simplest load-out in all of DnD.
I’m loving this campaign and robs patience with these goons is utterly hilarious 😂 I can’t believe how quick He is to change up the entire lore on the spot simply cuz bodg says” I don’t want the Effin axe” hahaha good show guys, keep it up
This video was produced on the other side of the globe from me. I am currently driving from St. Louis to Kansas City on a business trip and am listening to this playlist. I had to pull over to post this before the next episode comes on. This whole series has made me laugh many times. But Rowan specifically has tapped into something primal and hilarious. Simple shit like Fish-Lish and Sharon-Bobaron make me laugh so hard I don't think I could ever explain it. I feel like rhyming word games like this have probably been hilarious to humans ever since we first invented speech, and will continue to be hilarious until the day our species goes extinct. Thanks VLDL. Love you all, from Missouri.
2:46 "maybe we'll run into that axe again" Bara'Dun rolling a nat 20 for insight and predicting that the axe is sentient and uses a string of unlucky NPCs to stalk and get back with Bodger.
Here is what Bodger can do, gift the cursed Axe to his brother, then come back later after his brother get's attuned to the Axe, it will then be easy to negotiate the Hammer away from him, because all his Brother will want is the Axe.
Sounds to me like Bodger has a personal and intimate relationship with this hammer and that losing it was equivalent to losing a loved one. Yes Bob, it is HAMMER TIME!
I have actually watched every previous episode, every week, exactly when posted. And I just noticed, as Adam indirectly asked about it, that I hadn't subscribed yet. So, yeah. That worked. Subb'd ;-)

4:50 Dudes! This is a cool effect. Nice layers! You have the background, the mini, the green screen Bodger, and the duplicate Bodger at least. Freakin’ nicely done!!!
when you realise you are in the universe that doesn't get to see the group struggle for a week with Bodger...
I dunno what I love more. Alan's reaction to Ben reminding him of what's still in his shop, or Robs ominous way of putting it that they have some consequences waiting for them with how they left things lol.
Wow... Rob was literally telling them the consequences of completely losing the axe and made it so clear there are ways to get rid of the negatives and keep all the perks. But they still decide to get rid of it XD
And BOB is literally encumbered with the sheer amount of currency he is holding.
What's 50 gold between friends when one friend has 10 platinum and 445 gold?
This is honestly the best part of my day. I sit at work with my nose cancelling headphones laughing out load wondering why my work colleagues are staring at me strangely.
Hope you don't wear glasses ... with your _nose_ being cancelled and all... 😉
I guess your colleagues must stare at you because you suddenly become completely, strangely silent with your noise cancelling headphones.
26:24 "I was gonna blackmail you..." Oh yeah. This party is completely LG!
Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but in Epic NPC Man, isn't Bodger always giving out the quest to fetch his grandfather's hammer? Does that mean this adventure is happening before the events of that series?
He’s broken his programming to do the damn quest himself
Different hammer, the one you go after as a quest is his grandfather's blacksmithing hammer. Not his war hammer.
@Sindraug25 If you'll notice, Bodger himself has multiple hammers, each with it's own set of uses.
Love Robs smug face when he’s a beast of a character. Looking forward to the brother fight 🤣
12:15 Bodgar became zaza for a second there
i love how Adams and Rowans desks perfectly reflect their personalities
To be fair, Adam is a sorcerer and thus just has so many spells and stuff.
A barbarian on the other hand has a very simple load-out of abilities. I think its even the simplest load-out in all of DnD.
@@wjzav1971 and yet, Rowan probably still can't remember his attacks
"i was going to blackmail you. yes. but thats fine"
^^
this... this killed me. did NOT expect that LMAO
Don't you just love how the episode finishes with "Good Damn it, Bodger" and "Jesus Christ" :D
LMAO, I love getting my players into awkward situations like this to see how they would react. Poor mortal Greg....
DAMNIT ALLAN!!!! Missed the chance to say "I'm Old Gregg" at 17:00. You disappoint me! lol
“In verness” was pearls before swine.
17:05 Reminds me of Peter Griffin trying to lie about his name: "Pea Tear Griffin. Awe damn." haha
Ah, back when Family Guy was good, the first 5 seasons.
Nice cliff-hanger on that one. Next Thursday feels like quite a ways away.
Another masterpiece guys, loved it.
Love how Bodger forces his way into anywhere cause he is “pissed off” but he knocks and politely waits to enter his childhood home 😂😂
2:46 "maybe we'll run into that axe again"
Bara'Dun rolling a nat 20 for insight and predicting that the axe is sentient and uses a string of unlucky NPCs to stalk and get back with Bodger.
Here is what Bodger can do,
gift the cursed Axe to his brother, then come back later after his brother get's attuned to the Axe, it will then be easy to negotiate the Hammer away from him, because all his Brother will want is the Axe.
That was an option that I thought they'd take, yes...
another banger bo-danga of an episode. great work
Sounds to me like Bodger has a personal and intimate relationship with this hammer and that losing it was equivalent to losing a loved one. Yes Bob, it is HAMMER TIME!
Sitting here watching from actual Inverness, actual Scotland.
Same, Ballater for the record
I can just picture the scene later...
"Oh, Sharon, did you see Bodger? He's back in town!"
Sharon: *seethes with rage*
Love this episode's family drama. 😄 Hope to learn more of Greg's backstory as well.
His grandfather was an adventurer with a sword with a garlic pommel.
Garlic
Roger That Blacksmiths in the Edin Borough 😂 love it. This is such a great series!
If Bodger doesn't get his 'Ammer back petition for Bob to steal it for 100 gold
I second that
Aye
I can now see the team tracking down Grinn and Auril for that 50G back! xD
I really like how bodger turned into zaza when he was talking fancy.
In Verness. Eddin Borough. I wondered what was going to be done to flesh out Skottlund. Loving it.
I have actually watched every previous episode, every week, exactly when posted.
And I just noticed, as Adam indirectly asked about it, that I hadn't subscribed yet.
So, yeah. That worked. Subb'd ;-)
Rob's trolling with the remove curse, dying laughing. Well played sir.
So, what half and half is Baelin? Wasn't he revealed to be his half brother too? Hopefully his route brings him back into the campaign again at some point. Awesome as always guys and girls!
His dad with a different Goliath? Baelin FoFailin?
Or a different dwarf…
@@matluoma9195 Baelin Bobaron?
Ooooh! I forgot about that 🤔
I’ve been wondering what happened to that guy!!!! I thought I made him up in my head or something.
One day, months from now, they will all return to Honeywood. Rob will have the greatest grins in the history of RUclips as he cracks his knuckles.
Rob: Remember when I said Rob doesn't have consequences come back and bite you in the ass?
Rob: You do realize I was sooo lying my ass off and the day of reckoning is at hand?
The party: The party lays a heavy sigh as Rob pulls out 2 boxs full of miniatures
Nah, he for sure doesn't have consequences come around to bite them in the ass. The consequences laugh in their face while kicking them in the dick. You've got to make sure the hurt goes all the way to the soul
Love this backstory stuff, explains a lot about Bodger. And the blackmail bit was priceless!
I’m on team Bodger with the whole axe scenario. 😆 I mean, their grandfather gave Aaron the dagger, right? Stands to reason he mean the hammer for Bodger…
The naming puns continue to slay me! I think the in Verness one kinda went over the guys’ heads, but Glass-glow, the Burg of Edin… Too clever!!
Yeah, but if he gets the hammer, then he... Won't have an axe to grind.
Puns and ol' Frank was remembered! Gonna be funny seeing what happens about that upon their return to town
"Anything to blackmail you with?"
"No?"
"A good day to you then sir!"
😂
Nothing better than a clutch of hams together, playing D&D. The ghosts of 1985 salute you!
These make my Thursdays! Thanks for posting and can't wait to see more 😁 I'll be sure to watch the dnd logic series you'll post in the future
When Bodger realizes his mom was running a brothel since bodger was at least 10 years old
Way before that. That's how she met Roger.
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD yo! Thank you so much for keeping this series going. I look forward to it every Thursday and as always much love from Alberta Canada
Bodger was so startled that he became Zaza! :D
The way Alan's face changed when he realized how long he's left an exploded corpse in his shop was priceless! I had to watch that part 5 times, and will probably watch it 5 more just for the laughs!
Bodger: "By Grabthar's hammer... you shall be avenged!" (Galaxy Quest)
with the names I LOVE just how little thought went into Bodgers background with the horrible names
17:17 - I can't see that old codger Roger Blodger believin' 'Steven' even exists.
Back story exposition exposed. Can't wait to see how bodger does post axe charm.
29:12 Greg remembering Frank's exploded corpse in Bodgers shop had me in stitches. Oh we did... OH! We DID. :(
I want to see a family backstory for every one of them just like this they all deserve one and it fucking hilarious
Bodger being exorcised appeared to be identical to a cat barfing up a hair ball 😂
Playing DnD with my friends next weekend for the 2nd time in over 20 years. Great job guys, I'd rock DnD with you guys anytime!
I wish bodger would just be like Dad! Make me a new greataxe with dwarf metal, and use the spoon in its creation...agh bodger poor bodger, can't wait to see how the rest of this goes :)
Sick in bed so I'm rewatching the whole series. I love this show so much! It's helping a great deal in my own D&D games with my family. Truly fantastic and amazing work, VLDL! My favorite content creators by far!
6:50 I got you Ben, even if the rest of those hooligans don't.
I see a man of culture!
Rob: You can go and steal it, he is NOT at home!
Guys: Naaaah...
Bodger finally gets the hammer and it's 5 levels below his axe 😂
16:20 "How's your shop going at the moment?" Ah, yes. What's more fun than being trolled by your teammate right before they throw you under the stampede?!
You guys kept the Dalin much cleaner than most D&D groups I know. Kudos.
Im loving these episodes especially being from Scotland. Rob's use of outlying islands and cities is amazing. Keep up this amazing work.
I have developed an unhealthy obsession with this show, my newfound desire to start playing D&D because of this show, and the need to find another channel that does this half as well as you guys because I enjoy this so much that I need more.
I don't know much about D&D, but I have a strong feeling that Rob is such an incredible DM that I might actually be ruined for other DM's if I actually find a way to start playing D&D now.
