This is the first 6 rotor engine. At almost 4 litres of displacement it can produce 1000 horse power...and around 130 torque

If you consider it as an n/a 3.9L, it makes a ton of torque, with 560 ft/lbs halfway up the rev range

0:20 This was a side project for the company's head I think, it took about 3 decades to develop and could cost up to $10k back then. Also, Lotus tried to do something similar during the same time but costs, weight, and the powering of the electromagnetic system for the suspension proved to be difficult

@@ghoulbuster1 Problem would still be the weight, it's driven by electromagnetic suspension (fitting, same thing they use for speakers) but that sort of a setup weighs a ton. You'd need to figure out a means of making adjustable suspension that can react at the same speeds as the magnetic setup, but somehow weigh at least closer to a normal car's suspension.

Wood gas is a technology I will never be disinterested in, it's such an incredibly simple technology that just requires sheet metal and a few tools, and relies on such an easy to acquire resource. While it's not really suitable for large-scale use, there's a reason rural communities and petrol-starved places have used it on and off in the past.
Back in the WW2 when petrol just wasnt available they used wood instead. Its slow, annoying technology to use but it works if needed.

"a very unique Pontiac Fierro" xD sorry to break it to you guys but a 2.8 is standard and more common then the iron duke 4 cylinder... Not only that but it came quite often in manual as well so not quite that unique. Fieros are fantastically cool vehicles and basically americas first and only mid-engine "commuter vehicle" as that's what it was marketed as. Its actually incredible common to have them engine swaped up to the 3.8, 3.4, and even LS4's but I'm supper happy to see the Fiero get some love in one of your videos! Looks like that one was originally a 4 cylinder manual as it has base model trim and 2m4 on the back. Most iron dukes as swaped due to there over heating problem aswell as there reputation of catching fire in the early years of production within the fiero. Great video though car mighty!
Hi there! That fiero is actually mine, it started life as a 4cyl automatic car that was abandoned in a field for 15 ish years, i did the rebuild and swap myself on the car and have the engine tuned up a little bit over stock, what makes it unique is the ridiculously rare 1 of 3 pre production t top option it has, it was very very expensive and never ordered on the 4cyl models because of it making it a oddity in the fiero community :)

Same thing happened in Norway as well, only Nazis were allowed to use gas, and Norwegiens were only allowed to use wood gas cars.

The bose suspension is something i am doing research on at my university, we are very close to making an actual beneficial electromagnetic suspension system, which also generates energy. As the energy in the suspension has to go somewhere, so we made it so that the energy is transferred into power for an ev.

This issue with active suspension, like showed in this video, is that even though it looks comfortable, it's really really expensive, and most people get sick because there use to the car having feeling over bumps..
Also uses a lot of power, and has many points of failure.

That's hilarious, I just showed someone the Bose active suspension a week or so ago.. I'm sure we could see something like it soon considering how far we've come in making things more compact!

We kind of already have it. Albeit just in a different way. Having a super, glass-smooth ride is something you can get when you buy something expensive and heavy like a Rolls Royce.

The injuries to the mechanic @ 6:30 Dave Luckett were worse than you say, he had a broken leg, arm and lost a finger. He says he thinks he has some brain damage from it and the finger is still sore to this day, to make matters worse, the cars involved were team mates so the driver Siegfried Stohr, knew the mechanic he just hit very well. Luckett is still involved in motorsport, while Stohr was badly affected by the crash, he lost confidence and retired later in the year after another crash.

my 8,000lb beast, nightstriker, though it's a armoured vehicle, even put on that bulletproof glass (it's a custom-built jeep gladiator, 6 wheels, hellcat V8 swapped with stage 3 turbocharger, stock jeep oil pan, race ECU, drag radiator, custom carbon fiber hood w/ a hood scoop and mount clamps, usually holding down a big shovel), still though, it would not survive being hit full-force with a tornado. It got hit before though, back about a year ago i was driving it passing through michigan on my way back to winsconsin, and a tornado threw some 2x4's at it, busted right through the passenger side window, tore off my passenger end mirror, and dented the frame to my door along with nearly killing me. i was pretty close to being killed, luckily i got missed, managed to duck under the dash, lowered the seat to far back, and squeezed myself down into the little area below the wheel and the dash, honestly impossible now all the weight i put on.
