Fun fact: in an indie game called “Art of Rally”, you get to drive the rally versions of the RX-7. There was one in Group B, and a Prototype in Group S. And yes, they both have rotary engines and the rotary sounds you’d want.
11:50 I love the fact that the owner added a vintage Soviet mechanical diver watch to the dashboard (presumably a Vostok). It gives a solid charm to the car.
8:43 our math teacher was complaining about car guys and loud cars last week. He also said: The Rotary engine didnt take of because it sounds like nothing and it always has to be a V12 Engine which is responisble for at least 1°C global warming. After him complaining I am mad until this point. How many wrong facts he also said in that sentence and in generell complaining about car guys and loud cars. Also he said that electric cars are the best... which made me even more mad.
9:30 I know it isn't OEM, but the TIV II is a 6x6 vehicle that also predates the Mercedes 6x6. It was designed to take videos of tornadoes from the inside, and is a pretty interesting ride.
08:43 Wankel engines are actually quite reliable at high revs, making it the perfect engine for an aircraft, until... it isn't haha. The Mazda 787 did a Le Mans race ages ago and it got first place, the engine was fit to run the race again amazingly! Sadly rotaries really suck at low revs, as many parts are quite unreliable and would often break thus making each rotary serving over 80,000 km require a rebuild
Rotaries don't have a lot of torque at low rpm, but then again, why would you expect high torque outside of it's powerband? Other than that, it's got pretty good torque all throughout it's powerband. "Many parts are quite unreliable" Nobody who has ever seen the working parts of a rotary would claim this. The entire point is that it's a very reliable engine with very few moving parts. The only part that you could call unreliable are the apex seals. They generally don't last over 100,000km, but that's it. If a seal does fail, you'll lose power and efficiency, but it'll still drive. It's a part that sees wear over time, and needs to be replaced just like timing belts.
The Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6 was actually meant to be a homage to the Mercedes W 31 or better known as G4 which in itself was the successor of the very first Mercedes G wagon: The Mercedes-Benz Typ G1 which also was a 6x6.

I am highly insulted by this as well HOW DARE HE! HE HAS THE AUDACITY TO SAY THAT ELECTRIC CARS ARE GOOD?
For the plane with a rotary engine, that’s not a bad choice. Those engines are built for endurance and constant rpm’s. Just tend to use a lot of oil.
and they are super smooth too!
the big problem is synthetic oil through the OMP creates a nice engine knock flavored Jell-O on the rotor.
@@Mike_Rogge As a rotary owner and with the advice and experience of many other professionals and owners, this statement is utter bullshit and a myth.
