Congrats! I too am a hobbyist. Bought my df500 a few summers back. Very expensive but it is so easy to use and adjust to different sized tenons. Enjoy your new tool and don’t listen to the haters.
I actually shot this a couple months ago now and I'm loving it. No regrets. So simple to use and totally worth the expense. Glad to hear you're enjoying yours. Thanks for watching!
A tip when using the cross-stop, especially with a long piece of material: make your first domino slot at the mid-point of both pieces of material. Use the cross-stop, index from the mid-point slot and go to the right, then again from the mid-point slot and go to the left. On the second piece of material, do the same but consider that if you opt to make wider domino slots either side of the center slot, you will want to make an adjustment to account for the wider slot you have made.
This is wrong! Doesn't matter whether you go from right to left or left to right. In fact; it's easier to start tight and then go loose from right or left.
Sorry to hear that. One of the retailers I heard from said they only got five of each set for the DF500 and DF700. But the last time I visited Paul B Hardware in Lititz, PA they had a couple of the DF500 sets left. You might give them a ring to see if they still have them. I was surprised they were still there.

Great. Thanks for the tip! I haven't had the chance to use the cross stop yet so this helps!
