And on top of the ever-growing resistance to such stimulus as generations get more violent and grotesque media, they wanna see to it that not only their kids get these experiences, but some form of satisfaction that they had a hand in it.

@@sdm47 No, non is better, it depends on what you're shielding them from and how you do it, take in acknowledgment that they are kids and know how their brain works, people who go through those extremes either don't know how parenting and/or kids work, or they don't care at all, there needs to be a balance, shield them from degeneracy, teach them manners, how to be a Gentleman or Lady, teach them decency, how to think how to act in the right way, give them the knowledge when they need it and when the time comes when their brain matures more, don't go all in on either side or you'll tip the scales and you kid becomes unbalanced, teach them early on Morals, Truth, Justice, Humility, Kindness, Chasity, strength in Meekness, Temperance, Generosity, Diligence, etc, each them this and they get better at finding the right mindset, teach them in a way they will learn and think for themselves and discern truth from lie and be diligent enough to dig deeper, because then your son or daughter will survive longer and live a good life, teach them how this world works and how other people think how the world works so they can avoid the bad ones swiftly, with these attributes and letting them decide in the end, they'll find who they truly are, they won't be spoiled or their innocence stolen at a young age, they'll still get to have fun, real fun, they'll learn responsibility, teach them when they are ready to learn the things I said and the ones that would ruin their innocence but teach them when they are ready, and if they are not, wait, and get them ready at the right moment, a parent should be right by their side every step of the way even if they are separated their parent's knowledge and wisdom will not control them but guide them, that's what parents are for, to guide their children to live a healthy life and a better one they lived as best as the can, that shows that you care of what road they are headed, and parents should learn how to parent and what stuff their children should avoid at an age, don't let just school teach them, help teach them as well to further educate them, this is a way I would teach a son or daughter of mine, and it will only add-on/take away through time.
