For the longest time i couldnt understand the hate for Common Core. Because every time someone explained it, and why it was bad, they explained that CC was the way I had learned math, and would compare it to like... the bass-ackwards way they used to do shit in like... the 40s. And that just seemed like "new and therefore bad," arguments, because just the sheer amount of steps that what id learned saved so much time and effort. TURNS OUT. Id just met like, a huge collection of idiots who had no idea what they were talking about, and the way i learned math was the pre-CC way of doing it, and that ACTUAL Common Core is, in fact, a mess. They were just parroting the opinion, without actually knowing anything about it, and so were right for the wrong reasons... and i just got unlucky.

TL;DR as I finish writting this, I didn't know it was going to be this long.
With the conversation at the begining. Because I don't know the context of what ''doing something in your head'' is I would say that sometimes it's valid to do it in your head, but in some cases, like geometry or trigonometry, the process is the thing they want you to learn, they want to know you understand how to go from one place to another so that's why doing something in your head isn't always valid. I do, however, have a similar gripe that I don't know if schools in america had that problem because I've only seen memes in spanish about this. But I fucking LOOATHED it when you did a math problem, you did the process, but you did it in a different way the teacher taught you but it was still the same answer, and the teacher grades you wrong, not because the process was wrong, because they NEVER tell you if and why it's wrong, always ALWAYS the answer was ''the answer was right, but you didn't do it the way I taught you''. That's an instant way to inmediately make me loose respect for you in any capacity, in a moral way you're intellectually inmoral for using your authority to deem something wrong without explaining it, intellectually you're an idiot, and as a human being you chose an important profession to teach these kids and you doing less than the bare minimum and you don't have respect for that responsability.

The education system is bullshit in math you basically are forced to learn every chapter each week! Than changes up and the worst part is this is the same school who shoveled every left over fund to sports and not to others. Not only that the sports didnt make jack shit to state but quire and band got 1st to 3rd place in state! Bc of this than all sports jockeys than said oh reason why they got that far was there homosexual and are furries so that. Win of top 3 was biased for them and not for us wah wah wah.
