I wonder if the cleaning staff were going to get around to adding ventilation to the servers, because it looks like there's indications for some kind of window or opening in the plastic wrap that were to be used to allow airflow or some kind of tubing to let air be pumped in and out but they either forgot while they were cleaning or forgot to do it after cleaning that part of the building.

My laptop auto updated to windows11 and it deleted all data on my laptop. Photos and everything! Nothing could be saved.

22:47 Happened with me. Been playing the Alpha of minecraft, when the game froze. Given that it was late, decided to wrap up for the night and continue the session the day after. Booting up the computer when I see a whole combination of letters/characters that I have never seen before popped up, and prevented me from booting up. I mistakenly thought it was a problem with my motherboard, only later realising it had no effect. Bought a £30 VGA card just to diagnose the problem, and it worked.

Last night my laptop, which is not Win 11 compatible, tried to push the update on me. It closed out all my open tasks and took me to the setup page to run the install and started trying to sell me on 'upgrading' my un-upgradeable system. Every time I said 'No' it just took me to another screen that tried to sell me on it. I had to click no 3 times. also, on each screen, while the install button was big and obvious, the no button was literally just a small hyperlink style line of text done in a shade of color that almost matched the background.

Want to know the worst part about the thing around 43:28? Only like 8 to 10 of those screws matter. This is coming from someone who, to solve red ring, skeletonized my Xbox 360 and made it run better. (Skeletonizing it solved both the overheating and disk drive issues, the overheating was due to a case failure and it wasn't getting enough air flow, the disk drive didn't like the case putting pressure on it. Skeletonized I just mean reduced to it's all metal chassis and removed the plastic case components.)

Yeah that's common because the Xbox 360 disc drive's belt was surprisingly easy to bust or to stretch out of proportion alongside sometimes the system shell gets busted up causing that sometimes and when those disc drives die you have to remember to remove the disc drive motherboard because it's married to the main board so be sure to remove it and put it on the new disc drive or your system will not boot (rrod) (funny thing is the original Xbox didn't have this problem just swap the disc drive and there you go good as new I'm thinking Microsoft tried to battle anti piracy by doing that but then it broke ways to fix these consoles bloody hell)

About those memory dimms. I had one faulty dimm (some areas had stuck bit) . Sometimes random bsod and other cases was fine until next boot. Main thing was did BIOS mem test detect it and mark it as bad/reserved so OS didn't allocate anything for that area. I was wondering why my reserved area was 512MB bigger sometimes. These were brand new dimms so I swapped them on warranty in local store.
Answering your question "why people are so stupid" - because now we try to make things safe. In the past people just died, so natural selection was working.

Windows 7 was good, but XP was the best Windows OS. I had my XP PC for almost 10 years. Never had any problems with it. Worked like a charm. I ended up moving to a laptop for school though. My Grandpa still got an additional 5 years out of that PC though only using it for Solitaire before my cousin gave him her PC. So we got about 15 years out of that thing. My laptops are lucky to last around 4 years though. I'm on my third one since about 2011. I got it in 2018 and it's on its last legs. I was going to upgrade to a gaming laptop for Christmas, but I had to buy a car instead. So now I'm saving up again

My moms old macbook (early 2010 when the nvidia gpus were crashing the laptops) has a swelled battery. Thankfully i had the bottom off around the time it started or i might not be here lol. The older macbooks for some reason have a lot of randomly extra sharp / pointy parts on the inside.

All these thinkpads make me think I did something wrong. Mine just stopped working as I finished a photoshop document for my art final. I booted up in safe mode, and it shut off again. I plugged it into the tv using hdmi, and there was nothing. The motherboard was completely fried. My brother took it to his friend who repairs computers. He took it to the best shop he knew. My motherboard was completely fried. They still got my files for the project off of there, but I forgot I didn't have my novel saved anywhere else. Time to rewrite. I bought from my high school. I thought I'd get the hp laptop I'd used all year, and I was pleasantly surprised to get something better.

Obligatory Second Comment.
The wiring must be how my grandfather's coworkers see his work now. 😅 He's really good at repairing vehicles (we're 100% sure he's ASD like me, and he's had a fixation on cars since he was a child, and then when we hadn't been fixing cars at home, he was fixing tanks and other military vehicles while stationed in Germany during his service) but he's also extremely colorblind.
He tried to go into the Air Force initially, but when he went up for flight instructions with a trainer, they found out that he was colorblind in the air and they actually chewed out his recruiter since he let him board an aircraft when he couldn't see shit (how they found out was the instructor was telling him to read the signal flares, and when they were giving him the colors for go back/land, he couldn't tell them apart, they all looked "yellow," which is not what they were, so he didn't obey the command to land since he didn't know that it was a return signal. Not good, obviously. And recruiters are supposed to check for colorblindness when you get evaluated so it was definitely a problem.) So he went into the Army instead, since he still wanted to serve (the original reason he wanted to go for Air Force is because his father was a Superfortress tertiary pilot on one of the missions to Germany, so he wanted to serve as well; he's a genuine baby boomer in the real sense of the word, being the first of nearly a dozen siblings) and that's how he started repairing vehicles.
First problem was entirely ASD, admittedly, since I have the same behaviors. 😅 When he started in Germany, he was already having problems with others because he was generally ahead of the group, kept his nose clean, but also didn't jive well with others. He still has issues from some of the bullying from other service members in his barracks (my family beats him up over it, so since they also beat me up over my issues, I give my ear to this.) He viscerally hates whipped cream, to the point he can't eat anything that has touched it, for example, because he is a deep sleeper, and snores a lot, and at one point a group of service members placed a shit ton of shaving cream on him while he was sleeping and woke him up on purpose because he was bothering them playing poker.
So some of the issues he had while repairing vehicles with others were because he kept his system to himself. He had friends who knew, but otherwise a lot of the people around him would be just plain confused. One of his favorites to tell is when he had to explain to a higher-up that the "NG" he wrote on most of the parts in the dead tanks didn't mean that they were being shipped overseas to the National Guard, but that they were "no good" since they kept having to take parts off of dead tanks to repair salvageable ones.
Then he left the service. He left the service after, again, he got bullied, but this time was bad, to the point that when he sees those dumb prank videos between marines he actually gets upset. He and his friend were working on a tank again, and one of the service members from their barracks decided to climb into the tank without them knowing about it and fired a round while they were actively repairing it. And if you have never been near a tank, these things are LOUD. So loud, in fact, that my grandfather and his friend was blown away from the tank, and while the guys were laughing for a few seconds, they immediately had to rush my grandfather's friend to the clinic because his ears were bleeding, while his ears were still just ringing on the ground. His friend was honorably discharged due to injury, because his eardrums had been blown to pieces, leaving him 95% deaf, while my grandfather left shortly after because he was so upset, and he just received his VA hearing aids last year due to the hearing damage he endured.
And then we come to now.
He is excellent at repairing vehicles; when he worked, he was repairing trucks for the most part, but now he's mostly maintaining family vehicles as well as trying to finish his 1940's Buick Roadmaster that he got as a kid from his grandmother (he somewhat destroyed the car using it as a quiet space to hide from everyone as a kid, so now he's trying to restore it back to condition.) But this is where the cable spaghetti finally comes in. 😂
Apparently, now that my grandfather works on trucks and not tanks, he's notorious for not only great quality repairs (he really puts everything into it) but also no one else being able to fix it if you fuck it up. 😅 Apparently he knows where everything is and has his own system, but because he can't see most colors (he's not monochrome, but from what he's described and what we've tested, he's not just extremely deutan but also blue is extremely drained to the point he has trouble distinguishing blue house tints, and hues like pink and orange absolutely boggle him. He also has trouble with street lights, so...) he doesn't use colored cables.
That's right; multiple times, when trucks have come in after numbnut errors (a lot of repairs were due to truckers refusing to drive safely and with proper settings, so of course you keep blowing the same part, dumbass; insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result) people have complained when he's not at work that his trucks aren't repairable without him because, famously, all of his cabling is stark white no matter where it's connected to. 😂
When he comes in, people can ask "where does this go, it's not marked!" And he can tell you "no, it goes right here, see?" like it's so simple, but he doesn't add color-coding since he can't see it anyway.
So anytime he's not the one repairing the trucks, it's a vehicle repair version of Connect Port. 😂

We have an add-on to this comment, in particular, that some of you may find interesting!
At 38:18, the plane screws are brought up. We actually thought it would be interesting to bring up to him, since he's a genuine Baby Boomer in the full original definition: his father was a tertiary pilot for bombings in Germany and had to fly the plane back so slow due to damage that the plane was HOURS late. And he is one of 10 children, so... 😂
He also served in the service as we told above, with all of the mayhem that came with it, so we thought it would be cool to ask.
Well, apparently the tip screws aren't actually necessary. They're decorations, out of tradition.
He said that while there were obviously things like the artworks on the side of Superfortresses, there were also smaller things from back in WW2. And apparently one of them, for lighter "escort" planes like the Mustang, was to put a screw on the nose of the plane to kinda say that it was going to screw up your ass. 😂
Whatever works, you know? Hope sometimes can only be found in humor, and one of the things escort planes had to do best was move fast against smaller targets.
So apparently the nose screws on the tip of the airplane is just a memento from that. Yesterday's planes were going to go right up your ass, and now... the new ones are too, apparently. 😅

"Windows 7 is a great operating system"... You're kidding, right? It's obsolete. To the point where it's just sad now.
Windows 7 is good for running older programs. It's versatile. Windows 8/10/11 have "compatibility" modes for older programs, but nothing beats the real Windows 7, admittedly.
Now, I don't agree with their statement about 11, either, about "let's be Mac," or at least that being bad. My only drawback of Windows is the fact it doesn't have what Max does; I've moved to Android because it has versatility, and I use Windows the same way, but if I want a simple UI for something like writing (since I do write in my free time,) that goes to the wayside.
Mac has the simplicity under control, but it's also a walled garden, and the fact I can't do half of anything on Mac is why I use Windows, but if I use 10, I sacrifice the simplicity when I just want to use something and not have 500 settings and doodads in my face. So Windows 11 merged this, and I think that's a good mix.
It's simple, but you can still use anything you want on it. Best of both, so I don't need to buy two computers.
Windows 7 was the last good os microsoft did, oh sure it still had some blatant issues because of being built off of vista, but at least user end controls were sensible without disruptive overhead or arbitrary division of settings.

There are those like me who have misophonia that can't take unnecessary mouth noise when you speak. Like come on now, GOOGLE how to eliminate mouth noise in videos. It's so annoying!!!! I hate having to unsubscribe from a bunch of cool youtubers and their laziness and refusal to accommodate for EVERYONE. It's like come on, it doesn't take that long to not make annoying noises in your videos.
