I got into asics sneakers two years ago when I started to work as a event photographer. I was tired of aching feet after long days of walking and standing. I first bought some basic black running shoes which are the most comfortable and lightest shoes I've ever worn. Then I got a grey pair of 1090 v2 which are probably my favorite shape out of all. Few months ago I copped me the white Gel NYCs which I also love very much and which probably manifested me buying nothing else than Asics in the near future.

Jordan’s have been my thing since the late 90s. But as you grow older comfort becomes so important. Wearing asics and new balance the last couple years have been heaven on my feet. I wear my Jordan’s and dunks less and rather have some asics or NB on feet.
Update - after trying the NYCs out, my toes did not feel comfortable even after going up half size so I bought the Kayano 14 in white/malachite green before they sold out again on the ASICS website also half size up and the comfort is wayy better plus appreciate the style more.
Just copped My first pair of Asics, I copped a Pair of the Gel 1130’s in the Clay Canyon Colorway and I’m Excited to see them in Hand and try them on 🔥🔥

Thanks for this guide it helped me with sizing on my pair of kayanos(I did end up sizing up .5 size) I’ve been wearing Asics for 5 years and back then they were a cheaper alternative to other brands, but i generally just bought whatever shoes were sick but on sale, or heavily discounted and i feel like thats a good way to get different styles rather than following the trends. Dont get me wrong Kayanos 14s are sick & they go with any outfit but they are mad expensive & sell out hella fast. same goes for these other models you mention. i dont want to blow up the spot, but i feel like Gel Sonomas, Gel Nimbus, & Ventures dont get alot of love and those are all i bought for a time. these are great high quality shoes. Especially my Venture Re’s, i rocked them to death but prob my fav shoe of all time. so those are my recommendations if ppl are discovering asics and dont need another pair of kayanos.

@Nevrinnnn I ended up getting 1130 and I got 2 pairs, and I want more. 14, and NYC were comfortable but felt little off, I could not say what. 1130 is just right, not too soft, not too hard for my kind of feet. 😊
I'm into Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Jordans, Asics...i mess with so many different models too many to list. I dont have a very particular niche that i stick to. Really glad Asics are back, but I'm not shocked, as dad shoes were rising in underground popularity during the 2016-2019 yzy/offwhite hypebeast era, dad shoe was quietly gaining steam. as that hypebeast era died out, of course dad shoes would take over as they were the shoes to wear if you wanted to separate from the hypebeasts.
I have been debating on which model to get. I like more skinny narrow shoes. So I been Leaning towards the 2160 or 1130 but I do like the kayano they all are honestly on my list so I just need to pull the trigger and get a pair and start my Asics collections
Love the Gel NYC got em on sale for less than $100 and i have been rocking them all day every day. The NB 2002R has officialy been replaced by my asics as my go to daily
I cant speak for e everyone else but I will say that part of the reason I was so willing to try Asics is because I was tired of Chasing all the hyped shoes with artificial scarcity. They are also very comfortable.

Got and tried all. 1130 was most comfortable. Kayano 14 was half size big (because that's what was available) and it did not feel as comfortable. Still so cute though, I got the pink (because that's what was available lol) but thinking about returning.

Also, odd to hear that you need to go a half size up in most Asics, I wonder if that means you've only worn the popular lifestyle models because I've only ever needed a half size up in the Gel Lyte 3 or 5

I got my 1st pair of ASICS in 2012 for work. I recently got my 2nd pair, the pure silver kayano legacy. I went vegan and gave up fashion. I would wear dashikis and rope sandals or some low quality shoe just to validate my opinion well... I'm back now and I'm not vegan anymore and it's good to see ASICS getting recognition. I’m going to do a 3D break down of the shoe I love em I might get this color next thank you for the video.
I could love those NYCs, but that "bubbly" look of the soles is just too... cartoonish for me, I prefer the clean look of their other soles, like the gt-2160 or 1130, 1090... I find those easier to combine with various styles.
First of all hypebeasts don't wear Asics. And secondly, I made it quite clear at the start of the video that I'm only talking about the most popular current models in this video
@@JoshDominic regardless of what you said it’s hypebeast. Also just like hypebeasts started wearing certain models of New Balance, it’s the same thing with ASICS. You don’t have to be Nike or Jordan to have a hypebeast subset of people invade a shoe brand. This is a hypebeast video, not a TRUE ultimate guide to ASICS.

@adischenker1851 the 1090 feels a bit slimmer than the NYC but I think if you don't have struggles with other asics models you should be fine.

I find Asics more comfy than NB. Gel really works for me.
Would’ve liked to see the GEL-LYTE III OGs also here, I find it’s vertical two way open tongue quite comfortable and lighter overall!

Imo the gel-lyte 3 is THE Asics sneaker, but otherwise your selection is pretty good

kayano and GT are overpronator shoes. If you are neutral you are going to get duck feet if you buy those. Stick with Gel NYC
