  • In this video Dad and I built the ultimate ‪@Cerakote‬ oven out of scrap metal laying around the shop. This oven was built with a old shelf we had laying around the shop.     I was thinking of building a powder coat oven. You guys made all the mistakes and worked out the bugs so I don't have to. Thanks for the video. 👍👍

      Hahaha thanks, It would work for powder if you put a oven element and the controls in, I just didn't want to go through the trouble lol

    You need to add an expanded metal floor, just in case something falls, orif you want to stand so ething up directly on the floor.
    Itwonttske much to add the expanded, but im sure it'll halp

    You could try lining it with Kaowool when that burns out....it's made for high temp things like forges and kilns.

      Is that like Rock wool. Ive used that inside of commecial boilers and its works extremly well.

    you can do cerakote under 300. that’s a great oven!

      Yes they have a C series that is air cured that I use on wheels and car exhaust parts plus it is uv stable and has a high heat range

    I ended up using my old electric smoker. I would like a bigger oven thou.

      This one worked good but was a little bit of work tho. I bet the smoker worked well.

    What kind of insulation did you use and where did you get it

      Regular insulation r13 but it has aluminum covering it.

    Doesn't it need circulation?

      It shouldn't the part will be kinda dry when it goes in ,its mainly just to cure the paint. simular to an oven in your house. But ill let ya know!!!
