Hey Chad! At the top of the screen there are two options you can click on to change what direction the door opens. Flip Horizontal, and Flip Vertical. Play around with both of those to get the door swinging the direction you want!
It is also very efficient to graphically estimate all the window/door components (low e, casing, sill...ect) and then copy and paste your estimated opening while holding down Ctrl. The program will auto adjust the material needed depending on the opening size. So if the window is smaller or larger than the one you copied you can adjust it in sketch and measurements will update.
Great tip - thanks for sharing!! It is a HUGE time-saver if you can set 1 window/door with the parameters needed and the copy + paste - excellent advice!
Why the cost of windows or doors are not shown in the estimate? Do I need to add them one more time to be able to show up in the estimate list? Thank you!
I've few queries regarding Xactimate tools. Can I please have your Support email ? I'm happy to pay. Much appreciated your earliest response on this. Thank you
Can you put one window above another on a wall? For instance, a 2 x 3 window 1 foot off the ground, and another window, 4 x 3 window 4 feet off the ground, with a 9 foot ceiling... So one window is positioned above the other. Both 3 feet wide.
Bob, I go into 3D view. Then load a window onto the cursor, and either drop it onto the spot I want the window or click and drag to create a special sized windows (which the higher window usually is).
Life changing!!! Thank you
Oh good! You're welcome!

I am attempting to sketch an arched doorway.
Do you know how to do this?
Hi Shanna! You need to put it in as a missing wall, and then go to properties, and change it to flat arch!
