I love that I can mix and match parts from the LC racing buggy to my WL toys. So far the wing and shocks/shock tower
worked out for me.
Amazing
IT DO CAN HANDLE 3S BUT AFTER A WHILE THE ESC BECOMES VERY HOT, IF YOU JUST WAIT PATIENTLY LIKE 5 MINUTES AND DO NOT PLAY WITH IT THERE WON'T BE ANY PROBLEMS
I’ve been really into modifying LC and Tacon cars for over five years now. I’ve done everything from the brushed cars to motor swapping them with a 1/10 scale team associate motor. And what I would recommend is a traxxas mini e revo swap. I was able to hit a little over 50mph. While it’s not has fast as the associated swap which gave me almost 80mph for the price the traxxas swap is best.
Wow thats crazy, good to know.
Good video. I agree the better product is the LC racing. Like most thing initial price point catches most of us. It’s hard to get people to think past the moment you have the product in hand. Once you have the cheaper product it’s so easy to spend more on upgrades. It makes no sense but we all fall into it. Instant gratification is one of the strongest urges.
yep, the tech age has its pros and cons.
Great vid review is on point u got another subscriber
Awesome 👍
also i wonder if you could install carbon fiber shock towers or good plastic ones??? thanks
Love your video, I also like the helpful comments. The great thing about the LC Racing's is on 2S they're rockets, but on 3S they transform into almost uncontrollably fast guided missiles. Another awesome feature is they're pretty high quality R/C's, at a relatively low price-point. Just a heads up, T-Bone racing makes protective shock tower covers for the buggy versions if you're interested.
Very cool, thanks for the input.
Do you know how fast they get in mph on 3S?
Cool vid, I just ordered the lc racing emb mt brushless, its basically the mt version of the tacon soar, should be awesome
Ah very good! I just picked up the Tacon Bulwark, the truggy version. Stay tuned for a video.
@@VallonesRCHobby The bulwark looks awesome too, I was actually debating whether I should get the truggy or the sct or the mt, but I went with mt because the short wheelbase is more fun too me(wheelies, backflips etc..)
@@war_josh1550 yeah for sure man. I'm putting out the bulwark video tomorrow.
Let me know what you guys think of this lil buggy! Seems to be a sleeper! =o)
Last Question... was this the Rtr version selling for 220 on nitrorx??? was that car stock on 3s??? what were your top speeds on 2s and 3s??? thanks again buddy....
I hate when pedestrians sneak up on you. 😂
Cool car. I agree if you don’t like to tinker that’s a good car. If you’re just getting started and and want to learn as you go the 144001 is great for that.
You can start off mild and go wild. 😃
Ha yeah it is all good. I totally agree with the wltoys too.
Vallone's RC Hobby I also agree that if you want good and fast and don’t like to tinker you are money ahead with LC Racing. 💯👍🏻👍🏻
As an entry lever car the 144001 is a nice entry point. Compared to what it replaces mainly the 959-b for little to no money more it’s an easy choice. It handles so much better the the 959-b.
Have a great day my friend!
One more did you ever compare car handling between this stock car and the wltoys version... i heard theres less slop in steering etc...do you think the same?? some people just dont know what they are talking about, but you obviously know cars very well... thanks
Yes this tacon will handle better for sure, just better components out the box.
Great car! I just bought it! The brushed version! Where did you get your battery? It is hard finding the 1500mah 3s lipo specifically
found it on eBay, but go for a 1300mah, it is not so thick and can fit in the battery tray nicely and does not interfere with the body.
Great vid, I just received the 124019 yesterday and its fun to control. However, now I want more speed. Do you think it would be worth it to just get the soar buggy and upgrade that to achieve 70+ mph? Or just upgrade the 124019?
well the 124019 has a longer chassis, so it might be suitable with that car to do the upgrade. But the Tacon is built a bit better.
I'm thinking about getting the Tacon brushed model, how will that one compare to the WL Toys buggy? I like the idea of having a nice platform for upgrades later.
I would spend a lil extra and go for the brushless, you will love it.
@@classicvwbugs Is this brushless Tacon the only buggy in that price range?
@@Icanreadgood1 team associated also has one. 14b I believe.
@@classicvwbugs ty
wow..i used to buy planes and other rc from nitro rc site...are they still good??? and this car is easy to get parts for,,,also is the exact as LC brand... that thing is crazy fast.... i see nitro has rtr brushes for 220...is this the same car??? this car flys...ps did you check diffs for grease??? were they good? thanks again... I wish i had a neighbor like you ...no body i know is into rc cars...thanks
Yes it is the same car! I love this car, lots of potential. I have not checked the diffs, no. I should.
@@VallonesRCHobby thanks for the great info!
Do you have everything stock on the LC? I've got one, do you recommend any upgrade to use ir with a 3s? Stock pinion?
Nice!
This is Bone Stock, just put a 1500mah 3s lipo in it. Its great.
@@classicvwbugs I thought it need some fine tune with an esc card and also a bigger pinion... What are your battery specs? I've ordered last week 2 2500mAh 2s 30c batteries, thought that in would burn the esc with a 3s
@@DiogoReis no, that esc is all good on 3s along with the motor. The wltoys 144001 which is a lower clone of this lc has that issue.
@@classicvwbugs i have the LC, bought it about five years ago but haven't been using it. Now because of the covid situation, I started to use it again and want to improve it's overall performance...
Do you know what is the size of the stock motor pinion and what is the limit for a bigger one to get faster speed?
@@DiogoReis yes 2838 motor, and an 18t pinion I believe. Specs here www.nitrorcx.com/25c102-14-soar-buggy-green-brushless.html
My only gripe with LC racing is parts availability.
Very true. Wltoys kinda similar, gotta go through China, and it can take weeks.
Chris Vallone yup. Wltoys are just that, toys. Lol
You can get parts in the u.s from warren rc and riptide rc
My guess that thing is running close to 40-45mph.
Yes for sure
Stock ???
yessir!
The WL Toys car is for those who don't want to drop two c notes on a car and can still have fun although at a slower rate!
How much do I need do to this car in order to add a gyro?
Buy the Dumbo RC x6 with gyro for like 30 bucks, give or take.
Thanks! I know people say you cannot put a gyro into the wltoys 144001, I’m wondering if there’s a reason why that doesn’t apply to this LC model
@@jessicastrat9376 Really? why? I have a gyro on my wltoys.
@@classicvwbugs because it has a combined receiver and ESC, so you can’t replace the stock receiver without also getting rid of the ESC
@@jessicastrat9376 right that is correct, you would have to change the ESC, receiver and the steering servo as well. My apologies, I assumed you were already upgrading.
Could I run a 5000 mah 3s battery?
You could, but I think the runtime will be too long, things could get hot and burnout.
No it won’t fit that’s a huge battery
@@noel0257 Correct!
Goodtimes
I just bought one and I respirated the whole car what shall I do next
just have fun. that's what is all about the hobby!!
3s heats up the motor
As we probably know now, all you need to do is put a 25t O.7mod gear on....
and the outcome will be?
Got get a speed meter dude.
I'll see, I have the GPS tracker on my GoPro. First person view.
Chris Vallone whats the run time on the both 2s 3s battery
@@juliuscaesar8801 a good 10-15min depending how you drive on 1500mah batteries. Not bad.
People want to feel like they got a good deal and can save money but it rarely works out in the accounting.
