I absolutely LOVE Peru and fell in love with that country, Its people, food and Culture from the day one of my arrival. Te amo Perú y amo a los peruanos.
I've eaten in several countries in Latin America, but by far Peruvian food tops them all and the biggest servings you've ever got. It's definitely the best culinary destination in the Americas. Like they say over there. ." Buen Provecho! " .
Lima has never been on my wish list. But after watching your videos, can’t stop but thinking of staying at AirBnB and eating all day Like you did.All the food you had looked sooo good😋
Lima should totally be on your wishlist. One of the great cuisines of the world and probably the greatest cuisine on the American continent (and i've been all over the continent). Has been extremely underrated. All my friends when they come back from Peru rave about the food.
YAAASSSSS THANK YOU SAMUEL, we sure DON"T GET THE RECOGNITION WE DESERVE FOR OUR FOOD! I'm pretty sure Peru is the Culinary Captial of South America! Thanks so much for this list guys, Peru has really generated a lot of tourism in these past idk 5-10 years and this list I think is premo for authentic Peruvian dishes. I love your channel and I share your videos with friends and family all the time. Will definitely take you guys up on El Punto Azul and Nikko!!!
Sam and Audrey, you've opened my eyes to Peruvian cuisine. When I hear Peru, I only thought of Machu Pichu and the defected former prime minister Alberto Fujimori. I didn't know there was a seriously beautiful culinary culture ! thanks for educating us guys :)
I had Peruvian food for the first time a week ago and it was fantastic! It was at a local restaurant in my city. I don’t know how authentic it was, but the flavors were amazing.
When i was in Lima this spring i very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the food from the Larco museum restaurant. Very good ceviche and lomo saltado. Also i agree with you guys about Tanta, i've been to the ones at Larcomar and the airport and every time the food was great and the portions huge.
I used to live where grimanesa anticuchos started!they are so delicious😋 omg i miss eating peruvian food😪 next time i visit lima i’ll visit the places u guys went for sure!!nice video👏🏻
I have friends from Lima and looking at this list we were able to make it to a few on the list. Punto Azul and Sangucheria La Lucha didn't disappoint. We had somewhat of a hard time in May 2021 with dinners as restaurants had to close by 8-9pm due to Covid19 regulations so we couldn't make it to Tanta even though we were staying across the street. I would recommend also, Almacen Cevicheria in Miraflores. Amazing scallop ceviche if you are into that stuff. I personally liked it a lot more than Conchitas a la parmesana at Punto Azul. We also ate at Central, which you may know from Chef's Table, something like #5 or 6 on top 50 restaurants in the world list and it didn't disappoint. Not cheap but not crazy expensive with the exchange rate . highly recommended to do 14 course meal with "local" wine/drink pairing.
Audrey & Samuel, I highly recommend, next time you visit Lima, go and try these 3 restaurants: La Mar Cevicheria (by Gaston Acurio), Amaz (Amazonian food) and last but not least Osaka (Nikkei food), you can find all 3 in the Miraflores district... your videos are just too fun to watch!
This is great review of some of the best restaurants in Lima, Peru. I know that because I have eaten in all of them. Did you know that Manolo's has been there for probably 40 or 50 years? Also, did you know that Tanta means bread in Quechua, the language of the Incas? In your next visit to Lima would you consider dining in one of the high-end restaurants like Central or Maido? They can be pricy but I am sure that it will be an unforgettable experience. You might need reservations of at least 2 months ahead of time.
Thank you very much Adolfo! I knew Manolo's was an institution because Audrey's mother grew up eating there. Had no idea about Tanta meaning bread in Quechua. Thanks for sharing that. Ah, really appreciate those suggestions. We'd love to try both when we're back in Lima.
@@samuelandaudrey Every time that travel back to Peru y discover new things and I am sure you will too. "Ceviche frito" is a new dish that I am dying to try. You might also want to try Amoramar and Nanka restaurants.

Where is home base for you guys ?
Thanks. This is another great video. Your excitement in describing Peruvian food is contagious. Is there some justification for that excitement? Let me share with you a bit of information. The World Travel Awards that are the equivalent of the Oscars for the international traveling industry have given Peru the World's Leading Culinary Destination in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and we are waiting to see what will happen at the end of 2018.Peruvian food is relatively new compared to French, Italian, Mexican, Chinese and Japanese gastronomies but is rapidly expanding throughout the world. Next time in Lima I will try El Bodegón and Papachos. Thanks again for the video.
Peru has the best food, we always enjoy going to restaurants when visiting my family. Try Cala close to Rosa Náutica, La Mar - Another Acurio restaurant., I love La Huacca Pucllana.
You have to try Central Restaurante, always in the top 10 restaurants in the world. Virgilio Martinez is currently considered one of the best cooks in the world and I’ve heard it’s tasting menu based on the different ecosystems found all over Perú it's always changing and its exceptional. On the downside, it’s supper expensive and you must make reservations with at least 4-6 months ahead. El Mercado it’s another popular restaurant in Lima.
Thank you for the great suggestions! Wow, reserving that far in advance is surreal. We've love to check it out next time. We'll have to reserve that even before we book our flights.
Thanks for sharing your adventures. Try Segundo Muelle. I've only been there once at the San Miguel Plaza location and I really enjoyed the ceviche trio. There is also one in Miraflores. Cheers.
Yum! Thanks for the list. You guys should also try "Las Brisas de Titicaca". My family is Peruvian and that is our favorite place, plus they have a traditional dance show during meals. :)
So nice how you love my country! Hope you'll visit again soon. I got a couple suggestions for you, Canta Ranita in Barranco district (very good seafood at a laid back ambient), El Bolivariano in Pueblo Libre district (really good creole food) and Bodega Queirolo in Centro de Lima (1920's old bohemian vibe restaurant/bar, really good creole food, specially the Escabeche).
Hi guys: Wonderful video and we can't wait to try some of these restaurants when we are in Lima. Did you happen to do a similar video for Buenos Aires? Cheers, Keith & Karen (Barrie, Ontario)
Additions to try on your next trip to Peru, Chifa La Pagoda in San Isidro, amazing chifa, you don't end up stuffed like in all other chifas in Peru, amazing food, La Botica in Petit Thours, incredible stuffed Rocoto, Kaikan, great sushi, ovalo Gutierrez, Rinconcito Escondido Buffet, Parque Hernan Velarde 71, here you have to get really early because it gets packed, its very popular and the food is great.
I am a peruvian and I’d recommend to go to Santa María its a beach with very good food and a beautiful beach close to a club that has the best sea food that I have ever had
But make sure to be there super early or be ready to wait like 2 hrs. I went there the other day with my gf and ended up going to this great vegan sandwich place nearby while we waited for a snack because we got so hungry. Lol still really fantastic food and the erizos 🦔 are delicious.
Next time you return to Lima you must go to La Mar restaurant in Miraflores. It is a seafood restaurant by Gaston Acurio too and I think you will love the quality and variety of delicious dishes there. I hope you come back soon. Greetings from Lima
I've been watching your videos for a long time and one thing I don't understand is why your subscribers number is not increasing. You've been posting a lot of useful content and other creators on RUclips with similar content have many more subscribes than you do. This is something that I've been wondering for a long time.
Seriously???? Is it that important to you? What does it even matter? These two are popular regardless, who cares that someone else has more subscribers!
I believe these guys deserve more appreciation for their efforts. It would be great to see these guys reaching great heights on RUclips in terms of subscribers. I know it's the quality that matters over quantity, however, as a creator on RUclips I think the subscriber count matters (more to them than to us).
@Sabine M Take a chill pill. He meant it as a compliment not an insult. When I first read it came across strange but then I read it again and he is complimenting them.
That is because these folks post quality content, which not everybody digs. Majority of the subscribers to other 'popular' vlogs (Mark Wiens for example), cannot tell the difference between good content and content mixed with nonsense. Mark Wiens, in my humble opinion, posts content anyway, but you could very quickly tell that he really doesn't know his food (he couldn't tell the difference between pecans and walnuts, or tomatillos and tomatoes even if he tried). It is like those 'yelp' reviews where majority of the high volume 'elite' yelpers post complete nonsense.
If you like nikkei food, "Wasabi" is a good all-you-can-eat makis for around 18 CAD/person including sodas/tea. "Pura Selva" if you like food of the rainforest (comida de la selva). Only two from the top of my head, I think I find out about more restaurants watching your channel than living here.
Hi guys! Next time you are in Peru you should go to Bao?, it's an small asian restaurant in miraflores. And also you definitly need to go to Cosme, the main dishes and appetizers are good, but what I love of cosme are the desserts. They have a lucuma molten cake, it's to die for
I had the best meal in Chicago - it was Tanta! Every bite a taste sensation. There are Peruvian restaurants in my home town but they are nowhere near as exciting as Tanta!
So you come up with the top 10 Lima list without even mentioning the 3 restaurants that made the world's 100 best restaurants list, 2 of which are in the top 10 world's best.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE REVIEWS..IM GOING TO PERU WITH MY FRIENDS THIS MAY FOR MACCHU PICCHU AND WE ARE SO PUMPED TO TRAVEL TOGETHER AND ENJOY THE PERUVIAN FOOD. BTW, ARE THESE ALL LOCATED IN MIRAFLORES? BECAUSE WE WILL BE STAYING THERE...
I have been researching Lima and watching lots of videos of people who have been there. Most it seems are, like us, Canadian. I find this curious. Almost all these places are in Miraflores. But I was told that the best place to stay is in Barranco. To be clear we aren't very interested in sightseeing. We are interested in local food, alcohol, and music. Not nightclubs, but smaller venues with live local musicians and bands. Can you direct us to some places you think might be interesting?
Hi Samuel and Audrey, what a great video/clip, what's the thing with English subtitles.....it's perfect for those practicing their English....but given the fact that I am subscribed to 8 other channels, I see this as a trend.......it's kind of annoying, my apologies; but it's fine coz I also get to cut and paste some phrases you say which I normally don't use on a regular basis.....keep up the good work
They mention this in other recent video, I don't remember wich one, they said is cheap coming from Canada, even from Argentina or Chile, Sandwichs are like from 4 to 6 us dollars really good ones like la lucha, restaurants are 5 to 10 dollars like punto azul, good gourmet restaurants like tanta or nikko are from 11 to 25 dollars, all per person beverages included not Pisco Sours or chilcanos that are from 4 to 8 dollars, aprox. 1 dollar y 3.3 soles and we don't have inflation (1.5% per year) so the prices will keep the same trough the years. www.tripadvisor.com.pe/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g294316-d4244858-i255622790-Tanta-Lima_Lima_Region.html photo of tanta menu www.tripadvisor.com.pe/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g294316-d2545654-i122732823-Punto_Azul-Lima_Lima_Region.html Punto azul english menu
I suggest la Taperia tapas bar in Miraflores. It is a restobar inspired in Spanish Tapas with a Peruvian twist as always. Drinks and cocktails are great also. I would also suggest Jose Antonio in San Isidro for classic Peruvian comida Criolla. Last but not least, I don't think you can say you are a Peru expert if you don't visit the beaches in the North Shore (If you are beach/sun-friendly people of course). Some of the best seafood in PE without question and at a reasonable price for the most part. You can also go swim with sea turtles, go whale watching, learn to surf, etc.
@@samuelandaudrey BTW next time try Leche de Pantera instead of Leche de tigre which is made of conchas negras (black scallops). You can also try out cebiche de conchas negras. Cheers.
You guys are adorable, Sam needs to learn to tone it down and keep quiet and let his wife speak when it's her turn though ; ) His constant interruption is somewhat distracting.
Please don’t come during pandemic. Me and my Husban are stuck in lima after getting positive COVID, restrictions are insane and people seem to be angry. Unfortunately our experience in peru hasn’t been the best :(

Only two from the top of my head, I think I find out about more restaurants watching your channel than living here.
Thanks for the great recommendations!
Hi guys! Next time you are in Peru you should go to Bao?, it's an small asian restaurant in miraflores. And also you definitly need to go to Cosme, the main dishes and appetizers are good, but what I love of cosme are the desserts. They have a lucuma molten cake, it's to die for
Thank you very much for the recommendation!
Audrey looks great 👌🏻& I hope she’s fully recovered after the Dentist .Cool vids guys :-)
Thank you! She's feeling much better now :)
I had the best meal in Chicago - it was Tanta! Every bite a taste sensation. There are Peruvian restaurants in my home town but they are nowhere near as exciting as Tanta!
That is so cool to hear!~
Great video :) come back to Argentina jajaj kisses :*
Thank you! I hope we can soon!
So you come up with the top 10 Lima list without even mentioning the 3 restaurants that made the world's 100 best restaurants list, 2 of which are in the top 10 world's best.
?
THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE REVIEWS..IM GOING TO PERU WITH MY FRIENDS THIS MAY FOR MACCHU PICCHU AND WE ARE SO PUMPED TO TRAVEL TOGETHER AND ENJOY THE PERUVIAN FOOD. BTW, ARE THESE ALL LOCATED IN MIRAFLORES? BECAUSE WE WILL BE STAYING THERE...
Thanks! Very exciting to hear. Yes, most of the places are in the Miraflores area so you can enjoy some great meals.
@@samuelandaudrey JUST WONDERING WHERE DID YOU GUYS STAY?
We stayed with relatives. Lots of airbnbs and hotels in the area though. We were like 5 minutes away from Wong grocery store.
so if you could only choose one (one night out in Lima) which would you both choose?
I have been researching Lima and watching lots of videos of people who have been there. Most it seems are, like us, Canadian. I find this curious. Almost all these places are in Miraflores. But I was told that the best place to stay is in Barranco. To be clear we aren't very interested in sightseeing. We are interested in local food, alcohol, and music. Not nightclubs, but smaller venues with live local musicians and bands. Can you direct us to some places you think might be interesting?
I think Barranco would indeed be your best bet.
Do you have list of restaurants for cusco? Thanks
Ah, we didn't stay in Cusco long enough to make that.
Hi Samuel and Audrey, what a great video/clip, what's the thing with English subtitles.....it's perfect for those practicing their English....but given the fact that I am subscribed to 8 other channels, I see this as a trend.......it's kind of annoying, my apologies; but it's fine coz I also get to cut and paste some phrases you say which I normally don't use on a regular basis.....keep up the good work
Thank you! We'll try to keep the subtitles up.
I have had ceviche for the first time here in ottawa. I am sure it is 100% better in Lima.
How was it in Ottawa?
@@samuelandaudrey It was my 1st time trying it and I love it!!
Can't say how I got from social conflicts videos to this... :P
Interesting! Do you remember how this video was recommended?
@@samuelandaudrey He he, I'm a follower :)
❤❤
What are your next travel plans
Next up is a short series from Canada followed by a big one from Japan.
Rosa Nautica, 👍🏼 🐟
That place is awesome!
What are the prices like eating out in Lima?

Great question. If you eat street food items can be $1-3 USD, value meals $4-8 and mid-range to high end would be $8-15.
Thank you for the suggestions.
@@samuelandaudrey BTW next time try Leche de Pantera instead of Leche de tigre which is made of conchas negras (black scallops). You can also try out cebiche de conchas negras. Cheers.
😮😮😮😮😮
I just passed by your 3 favorite lands video, and Peru wasn't there... funny?
We'd update that now for sure.
Beautiful dress.
Whats mean GUYS ?
El dijo: ":Dress up" significa que los mozos se visten de forma especial-elegante.
Guys significa, chicos. Cuando dicen, hi guys, significa, hola chicos/chicas. También se usa, look at this guy, Mira ese tipo.
Central is the best restaurant grom Lima so why not central?
Where did u learn spanish audrey?
Miguel Angel from her parents: her mother is Peruvian and her father is Argentine
From her Mom and Dad.
I didn't know that her mother is Peruvian...?!?!?
Thank you. Yes, that is true!
well good morning you two
Good morning to you as well! Thanks!
You guys are adorable, Sam needs to learn to tone it down and keep quiet and let his wife speak when it's her turn though ; ) His constant interruption is somewhat distracting.
Thanks, yeah, that is something to improve upon.
Peru is a slang for 'penis' in Portuguese.
Not a Monolos fan. They are WAY Overpriced and frankly have tasted better elsewhere.
Sabine M. Where? Tell us, pls.
What is your favorite spot?
If you show more content rather than talking , ur videos would be more interesting
Dude did you just mention jaston?
Please don’t come during pandemic. Me and my Husban are stuck in lima after getting positive COVID, restrictions are insane and people seem to be angry. Unfortunately our experience in peru hasn’t been the best :(
Canadians are so odd.
lol
AHHH....I am missing chubby Audrey goes well with chubby Sam!
Hahahaa...thanks!
