I can remember as a kid watching this and thinking why does kong look so terrible compared to the 76 film. Then I realised no proper animatronic face and no Rick Baker. The optical effects were quite good in places and much better than the first film but they just look like cos play outfits compared to the original. The face of the 76 kong was truly a masterpiece for its day and does not get enough credit because often it looks real
I didn't know that this was the 35th Anniversary of one of if not the most underrated Movie of the 8th Wonder of the World that I believe is a Guilty Pleasure to some Fans.
Well given that the 1976 KONG FINALLY came out on Blu-ray last year it only makes sense we revisit its follow-up - although I forgot that ALIEN and TOTAL RECALL producer Ronald Shusett was involved in this!
Nice , I honestly didn’t expect u to make a video of this but I’m not complaining. I thought this movie was good but I feel they should’ve used the original 76 roars and brought back Jack and Dwan.
The original plan was for this movie to be a sequel to the 1976 "King Kong" and also "Orca", which came out about the same time. It would have had Kong fighting a giant killer whale! But the powers that be decided that the special effects would have been too expensive, and so the plot got dumbed down. Check out the Siskel and Ebert review for this movie on youtube - it's really funny.
Un navet consternant King Kong comment peut ont fairent des films pareils. Il ne faut oublié que king Kong est a la base un chef d'oeuvre de l histoire du cinéma. Ce n avait ne mérite pas le non King Kong.
I heard everyone disappointed why cgi look like gorilla. Lol, I mean it not that bad! Rooarr! Lol, why did everyone think it so bad! Sorry about that. Anyway, I love that movie. I mean not the best one. So, yeah.
Underrated film and not as terrible as people say
And a little happier ending than the most of the other films
I agree. Grew up watching this multiple times in the late 80's and early 90's on vhs. My first Kong movie was the 1933 one.

Imagine watching the first movie where he gets shot down by planes, thinking "don't worry, you'll live" lol

You know I dont think this sequel isn't that bad sure is cheesy but fun
They could’ve at least tried to make a suit identical to the first one.
Never heard of this and I'm a kong fan

The Nostalgia Critic's review of Mighty Joe Young (1998) just dropped today & he liked the movie.
man Kong vs godzilla stole some of this lol
Great video you made 😎
He had heart surgery and didn't have a scar?
Ave Dino de Laurentis!
Wow I only remember because of the heart scene.
To bad the voice is not the same of kong
King Kong visuals in the 80's did not improve very much from the 60's.
It's not bad
I'm impressed with bad that trailer was.
How did it turn a $30M profit?
Excuse me the movie not called king Kong lives its king kong roots

So this movie turned King Kong into a cheating husband? He left his wife for Jessica Lange?
