Yea I don't think there is such thing as a therapy show therapy can only work when you start to understand your own situation without judgement and I doubt a person who has some severe problems would heal well if at all in front of the spotlight and a studio audience
Damn. It's a shame that your other videos (That aren't "how rich/broke is so and so") don't get nearly as much attention when it's obvious you put so much time and effort into them. Keep it up man!
Idk if someone said this already but, just me I think that morally this show shouldn’t even exist I mean tv is always going to be tv and want money but dr.phil has a moral obligation to keep mental and behavioral problems between him and his patients and with him “ treating “ people on his show should be seen as practicing without a license. Them comes my problem with parents who really think that parading your children or whatever on tv and embarrassing them with someone who won’t even really help them for a quick buck and having there 15 minutes of fame is shameful to say the least, I’ve gone too long on this but America you need to sort out your morals and stop this bullsh*t from airing. Thank you
You might want to look into his VR therapy and the parasitic relationship he has with "drug treatment centers". Some good sources on this can be found on the Behind the Bastards episodes on Phil.
This bothers me so much, not the video topic, but the numbers on this. 60,000 subs, 4,000 views, 400 likes, and 68 comments. When you subscribe to a channel watch their shit don't just sub and never watch them again.
I think one thing that often goes uncritisized, because it's more nuanced, is his approach with the show day to day, divorced from the broadcast television aspect. He is incredibly harsh, mean, and dedicated to misunderstanding his "clients" who come to him with real psychological and social issues. They'll say something to him, and he'll immediately contradict and correct them, condescendingly lecturing them about their own lives and behaviors. In order to grow and change, humans need something called "unconditional positive regard." It's a posture that parents are supposed to take with their children, and therapists with their clients. And it's something Dr. Phil never even approaches, even with people who are really clearly victims of abuse and the like, folks most desperate for some validation and understanding. I would posit that Dr Phil has never actually helped ANYONE... just yelled/joked/sneered at them to change their behavior. And even if that behavior does need to be changed, that's not help, that's bullying.
The more I look at your channel the more I wonder why you don't have a lot more subscribers, it's all quality and interesting stuff, I'm thinking it's just a matter of time before you blow up
Bregogli didn't "get a lot of money and a career from [her time on the Dr. Phil Show];" she earned it. Any of the guests could have done the same, or else legitimate questions have to exist about their ability to sign contracts and, if they have no ability, their power of attorney has far more responsibility than some half-valuable TV dime-store psychologist.
Dude my younger brother was doing tons of drugs and disobeying my parents every step of the way, so you know what they did? They sent him to a wilderness rehab where he had to sleep outside all the time in the cold and stuff. And when he came back he wasn’t like that anymore, so it sounds to me like you and Danielle Bregoli are too soft. It sounds a lot less vigorous than what my brother had to do and he wasn’t hurt by it, he came back a tougher and more experienced man.
While I don't agree with everything he has done in the past he probably had no idea what he was getting into with that interview. I've worked on TV productions and it's very rare for the start to see their guest before going on. it's even more rare for the star to oversee wardrobe and makeup (like it never happens). IDK what set you've been on where to star had this power but these decisions are out of their hands. that was probably a real first time reaction. he was probably only told about the subject a few hours before shooting, that's the TV world. the power is in the producers hands not the stars.
Wow, beautifully put! I love it! Under capitalism(without a real system of regulation that tracks with inflation and welfare, not what we have now) all jobs are basically bum fights. If you’re lucky you make it professional, boxing being bum fights taken to the next level, but still then your freedom and body are the cost. It’s all exploitation and exploitation is encouraged.
In his defence: people know it’s TV and if you have a serious problem you should see a proper psychologist not go on TV! Any sensible person knows that or should know that.
If you want to learn about turnabout ranch, watch the Brittish show Brat Camp, season 2. It shows the entire process they put kids through, including the sleeping on wood and malnutrition Danielle mentioned. It's on youtube
What did yall think was gonna happen when u get sent to a ranch lol u go there and work, not play video games not play on your phone or get on social media... feed the pigs and chop some wood welcome to ranch life. And I dought they slept on planks of wood lol
Call me what you will but I see absolutely no problem in him wanting his then wife to keep her appearance of when they married. Most will look at this in a negative light but never consider that this is one of the most honest things you can tell your significant other. He's being up front and honest, knows what he wants and is being forthright in doing so.... Let's face it, the vast majority of divorces in this country are due to the loss of attraction and then very shortly thereafter the love is gone. Most individuals in those said relationships are either too chicken shit to share how they feel as far as their attraction goes and then the rest stick around for the children, making the children's lives miserable and further leads to the main reason of cheating on each other. If I was letting myself go to the point of where my girlfriend wasn't attracted to me like she was when we first started dating I would MUCH MUCH rather her share those details with me rather that suppress those feelings that she has. And another thing.... Drug addicts are the greatest liars. They're so damn good at it that they make it look like an art form. You based your survivor guy bit on silly tabloid jargon like it was fact. Can you fucking imagine if that was actually a true story? It would be the end for everyone on the show just so they could exploit some sad drug addict.... Judging by the shows ratings they don't have to stoop to such levels and never will for atleast 4 lifetimes.
While I will admit you've got some good points, this is just junk tv at the end of the day. People go on Dr. Phil to either get their 20 seconds of fame or to show certain individuals how far they've fallen. The reason Dr. Phil can get away with not having a licence is because he doesn't actually treat people, he's an intermediary between the person seeking help and the facilities offering help... Ps. I saw the b.b interview and honestly with a few exceptions, they just put her on a rance and made her do farm chores. They weren't forcing her to do manual labor.
It's reality TV. The point is to make money by whatever means necessary. Whether that requires blatant lies, editing tricks or unethical tactics, it's all par for the course.
