The second bit, about why Ron works for the government even though he doesn't like the government, where your theory is that he's there to obstruct the government is exactly right. Ron even says that's why he took the job in one of the episodes.
@@Avatar1977 that's because his character is poorly made and he's given way too many "redeeming moments," where he gives up on his ideology for his friends, to the point where his character is no longer this hardline conservative but instead a character willing to sacrifice his beliefs at any moment when someone asks him nicely.
The thing about Ron wanting to slow the government down isn’t a theory, he outright says on multiple occasions that he’s happy when the other department members, especially Tom, go through an entire day without doing any work since he thinks that a government shouldn’t actually intervene.
He also states in one episode that he's willing to go deeper into the belly of the beast if that means it helps destroying it. So yeah, definitely not just a theory.
Leslie drives a little cheap car, she never buys expensive stuff for herself (it’s shown that the town loves her and gives her stuff for free or discounted alllll the time) and she spends pretty much ALL of her time working where she has no time to spend money so she spends it on the people she loves in the form of gifts. One thing I always disliked about theories regarding Jerry is that they always center around "How can someone like Jerry be with Gale!?", some will stop at him having a large penis others will go deeper as demonstrated in this, very enjoyable, video. This explanations always left a bad taste in my mouth because it seems like something as simple as "Jerry is a lovable person and Gale loves him for his qualities as a man and father" isn't enough to justify Gale's love for him. I would like to know why Leslie keeps making reference to Pawnee's citizens being obese, but we never actually see obese people. What's the point of the running gag?

10:26 that’s hella reductive, to both Chris and the audience. It was season 3 when Chris was introduced. Do you really think the audience wouldn’t know all the main characters by then? Besides Chris was so much more than just that one name quirk. He was the optimism when things looked hopeless, hilariously hyper-concerned about his health, and an emotional piece of the Pawnee puzzle with his Dr Richard Nygard arc.
Something i've always wondered is who's handling the camera? After all, there are talking heads just like The Office, and clearly there is some sort of person filming the stuff Leslie and them do
The theory about Leslie being rich makes sense. How can she afford all the things she makes and buys. I think it came from a life insurance policy from her dad’s death
First of all: Parks and Recreation and The Office are definitely in the same universe. This logic is why Amy Poehler didn’t play Jan in the Office; they were saving her for Parks and Recreation.
You know that close-up of Andy where he gasps and he's smiling cuz he finds out who's pregnancy test it was in the garbage?? That face. That's my face.
My personal Parks & Rec theory is that Dr. Richard Nygard is not a real person. Dr. Richard Nygard is Chris Traeger’s therapist. Leslie makes a comment on how she had a feeling that Chris’ therapy sessions were just him talking to himself in a mirror, and this would explain how Chris is able to have sessions 15 times a week at one point. We never actually SEE Dr. Richard Nygard and only one other character mentions seeing him, and she was a one-off character who was trying to overcome her fear of animals by applying for the animal control department. I personally think that Dr. Richard Nygard is an online program/guide where you talk with yourself, and emulate what you would think a therapist WOULD say to you. For example that lady might have asked herself what advice a real doctor might have given her, and concludes that the best way to overcome a fear is to expose yourself to it all at once, rather than little steps at a time (which is more effective)
I've seen this show a few too many times (I might be an addict,) but I had to check to see if this was posted on April fools days cause most of the theories are so unfathomably bad
I'm a former naval officer and I pitched the idea for the Harvest Festival episode in the Parks and Rec Hulu page comments section. The 'curse' in the episode is actually a reference to the Havana Syndrome that the public has learned about starting in 2017. I was investigating whether those weapons were being used on everyday civilians -they are- and I was trying to figure out who had access and who the perpetrators' victims were. Greg Daniels - an executive producer on Parks and Rec - also worked on the show King of the Hill. There is an episode titled Peggy's Fan Fair that describes how Peggy sent out unsolicited ideas to various country music stars and one of them used her song idea without attributing her letter. I kinda thought the episode was just admitting a practice that happens often in the entertainment industry. So, pitching the Harvest Festival concept was a way to test if the music, movie, and tv industries really take fan concepts and use them without attribution. They do. In addition to the Harvest Festival episode, I also pitched the idea for the Camping episode. My ultimate goal was to uncover the type of contract stalking that the public learned about in the Harvey Weinstein and Scientology cases. Ronan Farrow's articles 'Harvey Weinstein's Army of Spies' and 'A Private Mossad for Hire' describe Weinstein's methods and Leah Remini's show 'Scientology and the Aftermath' describes Scientology's 'Fair Game' organized harassment program. I had hoped to attract one of these schemes along with a targeting campaign that used the Havana Syndrome weapons so that I could find the victims, free them, and get the program shut down. I'm a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a degree in control systems engineering and I worked in electronics warfare and nuclear engineering as a Surface Warfare Officer. I knew that if Hollywood creeps were targeting their critics with the types of contract stalking schemes we saw in the Harvey Weinstein case, their victims would be in real trouble. Those types of crimes involve sophisticated psychological warfare methods that are designed to discredit the target as a mental case. Add if they used the Havana Syndrome weapons, I guessed that those people would be totally screwed if they tried to report the crime. Law enforcement would be clueless. So, the Harvest Festival episode serves as a sort of time capsule that demonstrates that I knew that the crime was happening and that I was trying to work on a solution to get the victims freed. A couple of points: First, Li'l Sebastian is a real-life deus ex machina for the people who have been targeted in this scheme. The Pawnee Harvest Festival is based on my hometown's, Dwight, IL, Harvest Days festival they have every September. Our high school mascot is the Trojans -Li'l Sebastian is a Trojan Horse- and my alma mater's mascot is Bill the Goat. The reason Li'l Sebastian has an honorary degree from Notre Dame is that Navy plays Notre Dame in football every year. They've done so since World War 2. I thought that bit might point to me when I tried to reveal the crime in the future. Li'l Sebastian is meant to become a real-life honorary mascot for the University of Notre Dame during the annual Navy v Notre Dame football game. I figured if the details of this targeting system started to become public, that the public would have a difficult time processing the horror of the scheme. However, if the public saw Li'l Sebastian on the field next to Bill the Goat, they'd be intrigued and it would be a way to ease them toward the truth of this harsh reality - kinda like the way the Chapelle show introduced the R. Kelly crimes through humor. He was too big of a star to stop at the time, but the public eventually came around once Surviving R. Kelly aired. The Cook County State's Attorney indicted Kelly soon after, and I hope that everyday people who are attacked with the Havana Syndrome weapons will someday get some similar measure of justice and be freed from their attackers. The narrative to this plan becomes lengthy, but that's the gist. We're getting closer to the truth becoming mainstream knowledge. 60 Minutes just did another round of interviews with the original diplomats and officials who were featured in their first news segment with the Havana Syndrome victims. Eventually, they are going to understand that this is happening to thousands and thousands of everyday Americans and tens of thousands of people all over the world. Moreover, the Navy Yard, Baton Rouge, Hollywood Airport, Florida State University, and Las Vegas shooters were all targeted with the Havana Syndrome weapons for a number of years before they went on their criminal rampage. After the Baton Rouge shooting, there was significant coverage noting that that shooter had voiced similar claims as the Florida State University and Navy Yard shooters. And the first Havana Syndrome case was reported just a few months later, so at some point the media and the public are going to compare the complaints and learn that it's the exact same weapon in use and that those shooters weren't mental cases as first described. Rather, they had been tortured for a number of years before they went on their rampage. Also, It's important to note that the Las Vegas shooting occurred at a 'Route 91 Harvest music Festival.' That was no coincidence and was meant to send a chilling message to not talk about these types of crimes. And to think, the truth was hiding in plain sight. The Pawnee Curse in the Harvest Festival is actually a reference to the Havana Syndrome. Neat! A couple of reference stories to search: "6 eBay Executives And Employees Charged With Sending Threats, Bloody Pig Mask To Natick Couple" and "Five Individuals Charged Variously with Stalking, Harassing and Spying on U.S. Residents on Behalf of the PRC Secret Police" One more thing. I also pitched the idea to reveal the King of the Hill character Boomhauer as a Texas Ranger assigned to keep an eye on Dale. The concept was relevant and important to this topic.
8:15 the episode where they are starting to slash the budget, they say that leslie has one of the highest salaries or sumthing, so that would explain that
There was a deleted scene in the episode where April briefly quits and Ron shows up at her house. The interaction between Ron and her mom implies they did sleep together and Ron could be her father.
I have a (admittedly stupid) theory that El from ST grew up to be Leslie. They share their love of waffles and are very forward with their emotions, plus I could definitely see El wanting to get into government to make sure that the things that happened to her never happen to anyone else and to keep the experiments in Hawkins covered up to protect herself and the other test subjects.
Ann is Karen and she is in witness protection and to keep her safe with her they sent Burt Tyrannosaurus Macklin but they fell in love, then Burt is then laid off for not playing by the books, all his history stricken from the FBI records. The people Karen was hiding from finally were caught and then the case blows over. So she returns back to her old life and goes off the show.
We have met Leslies mom (also gov employee in Pawnee) and her father passed when she was a child. Where would this money come from? It's more realistic that she shops for good deals on presents, plans her finances and saves. She is Leslie after all, who is impulsive at times but overall extremely intelligent. The house is modest for a small Indiana town and easily affordable for her. She also uses gov vehicles as shown in the first few seasons, so she doesn't have car debt. Her furnishings and outfits are lackluster and likely knockoff. With her world view, what else would she prefer to spend her money on than the people she cares for most?
Bruh I was watching a toy story video and thought to myself "damn the child's name is Andy, like the guy from parks and rec" I never thought someone else made the connection
My favorite "theory" for lack of a better word, about Jerry is how he got Gale as a wife. In one episode where all the guys are getting checked after someone sent a nude to Ann, there's a cutaway to the doctor that checked Jerry and he says, "That man has the biggest penis I've ever seen." I like to think that plays a big part of how he got Gale. Lol
The Pawnee curse one doesn’t exactly make sense because Ken literally says that he’s making shit up and he’s not actually doing anything while “removing” the curse
The reason Pawnee started doing really well wasn't because the curse was lifted it was after Leslie took the job for the federal government and improved her town
Fun fact, it's typically unenforceable to convey via a will, the contents of a persons estate to a person who has killed by murder said person. Also can't convey to an animal in this manner...sooo..the will would likely fail and Ron's current wife may inherit everything as a matter of law.
Ron literally says he’s there to disrupt the government. I think he says it in the first episode. If not the first episode, it’s definitely in the first season. He repeats this a few more times.
Another reason the “Anne is just Karen in WPP” theory doesn’t hold much water is that Anne is a nurse, a highly skilled job that requires not only a degree in nursing, but demonstrable experience which we see her show throughout the show, which your average paper saleswoman would not be able to just fake
Maybe Andy is actually Bert macklin and he was dating Ann to protect her in witness protection it also explains how he is so smart and how he hides it so well. And a proof he actually is andy from toy story is that the actual reason ann left was that Rashida jones went to write on toy story 4

All I care about is that deep fake technology gets good enough that someone can make a fucking crossover episode of this and the office. The fact that it never happened is probably the biggest tragedy of the 21st century.
Ron's secret message being a map certainly would fit his character since he loves riddles so much.
The second bit, about why Ron works for the government even though he doesn't like the government, where your theory is that he's there to obstruct the government is exactly right. Ron even says that's why he took the job in one of the episodes.
The first episode to be exact.
Also he mentions "I will walk deeper Into the belly of the beast to bring all of this crumbling down"
That’s literally his whole thing is that he works for the government to slow down the government, that is like his main character.
Except that Ron hired Leslie to the department out of genuine respect for her, which isn't the act of someone totally wanting to obstruct things.
@@Avatar1977 that's because his character is poorly made and he's given way too many "redeeming moments," where he gives up on his ideology for his friends, to the point where his character is no longer this hardline conservative but instead a character willing to sacrifice his beliefs at any moment when someone asks him nicely.

10:26 that’s hella reductive, to both Chris and the audience. It was season 3 when Chris was introduced. Do you really think the audience wouldn’t know all the main characters by then? Besides Chris was so much more than just that one name quirk. He was the optimism when things looked hopeless, hilariously hyper-concerned about his health, and an emotional piece of the Pawnee puzzle with his Dr Richard Nygard arc.
but would you remember the name of his therapist if he didn’t say is so often
Something i've always wondered is who's handling the camera? After all, there are talking heads just like The Office, and clearly there is some sort of person filming the stuff Leslie and them do
I think in PnR case the Mockumentary is just a style they use and there's no in-universe documentary making like in The Office.
@@manuluh_ I always thought it felt weird. I liked a idea that Leslie hired a camera person to film her job
10:57 its also common in social engineering people love to hear their name. if you're good at getting things from people by talking you'd use this.
Disappointed that Duke Silver isn’t at the very bottom below everything else.
The theory about Leslie being rich makes sense.
How can she afford all the things she makes and buys.
I think it came from a life insurance policy from her dad’s death
the video was fun, but I thought there would be more to the iceberg than just theories
These videos are always just theories that don’t have much substance. They’re garbage
I think personally that Ron Swanson owns the Sweetums company
I still love this show.
Never heard any of theses. And I'm so glad I did.
Idk the way Shauna Mullway-Tweep talks about Dr.RN makes him sound like a real person .
Craig also talks about him seeing Dr. Richard Nygard on the last episode or so
I've seen this show a few too many times (I might be an addict,) but I had to check to see if this was posted on April fools days cause most of the theories are so unfathomably bad
Residents on Behalf of the PRC Secret Police"
One more thing. I also pitched the idea to reveal the King of the Hill character Boomhauer as a Texas Ranger assigned to keep an eye on Dale. The concept was relevant and important to this topic.
You know what’s so funny, here in Mexico there have been MULTIPLE raccoon infestations in government hospitals lmao
my goodness
love to mexico from russia, we could help rebuild hospitals
8:15 the episode where they are starting to slash the budget, they say that leslie has one of the highest salaries or sumthing, so that would explain that
There was a deleted scene in the episode where April briefly quits and Ron shows up at her house. The interaction between Ron and her mom implies they did sleep together and Ron could be her father.
Considering how similar the two sisters are, it probably wasn't just a one night stand.
18:08 Fun fact: Jim Jones was from Indiana.
I never thought I'd see myself watching a video on a show I only watched a few episodes of, but damn this is good
The first season is extremely terrible but it gets so much better at the start of the second
literally threw up when i saw the notification I was so excited
Oh no
Please cover The Good Place and Brooklyn 99
Didn’t Karen from the office have a kid? Where would that fit in with the witness protection theory?
Andy Dwyer is actually Star Lord
You’re gonna talk about who’s got secret stacks of cash and not talk about Donna?!
IKR 💵🪙💵💰💵🪙💵
As a common visitor to Patoka lake it was awesome to see that theory.
19:02 Heh, I get that refference.
The Ron being Aprils father theory always felt so legit to me.
god i love parks and rec. and how ben wyatt said; "bababoey"
Lol
Didn’t Jerry also say that he used to look like Chris?
@tavadaardendrian319 you know what? That makes sense!!!
The Pawnee curse one doesn’t exactly make sense because Ken literally says that he’s making shit up and he’s not actually doing anything while “removing” the curse
That’s why it would be an accident of him removing the real curse in that episode.
Jerry didn’t vote.
The reason Pawnee started doing really well wasn't because the curse was lifted it was after Leslie took the job for the federal government and improved her town
Love iceberg videos, thanks
Fun fact, it's typically unenforceable to convey via a will, the contents of a persons estate to a person who has killed by murder said person. Also can't convey to an animal in this manner...sooo..the will would likely fail and Ron's current wife may inherit everything as a matter of law.
Maybe instead of ann and Karen being the same person instead they could be cousins or identical twins
Ron literally says he’s there to disrupt the government. I think he says it in the first episode. If not the first episode, it’s definitely in the first season. He repeats this a few more times.
Great video, super underrated
Love parks and rec
I can see Larry being a spy, but why the knee-jerk theory that it’s Soviet? The Soviet Union fell in the 90’s. He could be a spy for literally anyone
Another reason the “Anne is just Karen in WPP” theory doesn’t hold much water is that Anne is a nurse, a highly skilled job that requires not only a degree in nursing, but demonstrable experience which we see her show throughout the show, which your average paper saleswoman would not be able to just fake
Uhh...people like overthink things. Actors can be in unrelated shows.
Maybe Andy is actually Bert macklin and he was dating Ann to protect her in witness protection it also explains how he is so smart and how he hides it so well. And a proof he actually is andy from toy story is that the actual reason ann left was that Rashida jones went to write on toy story 4
I mean, her mom is wealthy, especially for Pawneeans, also, she was born in Eagleton, so....
I just want to say; i enjoyed this video
More parks and red pls
idk how believable joe keery could age into henry winkler is but i love the fact that joe keery and ben schwartz joke about this theory i am not surprised joe keery would as even though i don't watch stranger things anytime those actors read theories they are more open to them believing theories lol or atleast playing along
"pawnee is cursed" nah I'm from Indiana, the whole state's just Like That
can you say each theory out loud it’s hard to read it so fast
8:50 looks haunted
Honestly, I see Jerry much more as a cult leader than a spy.
Jerry one is easy the Dr. Confirmed it
1:53 lol. What if he dies of like, cancer? Are they going to somehow give money to cancer?
Ron and Jerry fighting because they're both sleeper agents...? I could only wish
I'd like to order all the bacon and eggs you have. Now, you heard a lot of bacon and eggs. I said all.
9:25 raccoons in the hospital.
No offense, but you've obviously never been to Toronto Canada 🤣
I like Ron - he looks like Ned Flanders.
All I care about is that deep fake technology gets good enough that someone can make a fucking crossover episode of this and the office. The fact that it never happened is probably the biggest tragedy of the 21st century.
Can we get an adventure time iceberg?!
Zorp is dead. Long live Zorp.
