With the way people are I'd think a lot less of this. Friends hopefully would be more reputable. However the combination of multiple groups of people known to your partner that's the huge part.

Believed the fact that she not as interested drew him in more. I believe he made the deal, wanted to marry her and probably was on bended knee always for her so she thought well yeah he’s a great guy… then she couldn’t do it and is a sick girl

Isn’t that always the case. I often wonder how many of these killers would get away with it if they simply didn’t talk to police or try to concoct some story. Some would still be convicted, but many would end up in the “we know he/she did it, but we can’t prove it in a court of law” category.

When I had barely turned 18 (I’m 42 now, so this was a long time ago lol), I worked as a bridal consultant. Some were, IMO, “wanna-be wives”, but about 99% of them just wanted to be “wanna-be brides”!! What a nightmare that job was, oh my lord! The term “Bridezilla” doesn’t even begin to explain it! 🤦🏻♀️ 🙄 There were so many times that I wanted to pull them aside and scream in their ears, “you DO know the difference between being a BRIDE and also being a WIFE, RIGHT??!!” Sad thing is, 99% of them would’ve just given me this blank stare, never blinking, just wanting to go try on more expensive dresses 😳😳😳😳 I swear it was like some weird alien infestation in the bridal world so hell yea, I got outta there QUICK AND FAST Y’ALL...oh my gawd!! How can there be so many idiots among us?! How? Why? Please, that’s all I wanna know before I die lol

I don't know murder is the solution that came to her mind. I do feel sorry for people like her in a way, because they are living with brains that are totally divorced from reality. It would be a miserable existence.

I remember hearing about this case before, and I had the same thought back then... I don’t believe they were arguing at all, I believe she lured him out there by inviting him out to a romantic walk. I can imagine a couple walking, chatting and enjoying the nice scenery, I have done that with my husband. She just waited until he was close enough to the edge and pushed him.
Could be; no one will ever know for certain except Cody and he's not talking.
If the wife/gf wanted to "bare her soul" by "coming clean" re her exact motives and/or actions, I still would place no confidence in her self-report since she has amply demonstrated already that she lies and is a dingbat.
I think actually pulling that off, luring him out for a romantic walk with the intention of killing him, would require a level of psychopathy she didn't exhibit. You'd have to be devoid of all feeling. I suspect this was not premeditated.
@@therealuncleowen2588 well there are text messages between Graham and friends saying that she had not had sex on her honeymoon and that she used being on her period to get out of it.
Friends of his said the couple NEVER had sex for the 2 years they knew each other and not on her honeymoon.
Johnson was with friends the day of his death they all told police that Johnson got a call from Graham which made him absolutely giddy. They ALL thought he was finally going to have sex with his wife. Johnson was still BLINDFOLDED when found so I'm not sure how that factors into her story but it does make sense if she called him and made him think she was finally ready for sex and to meet her out at the loop where she BLINDFOLDED him then pushed him off the cliff.

That's what I think and recall reading that she alluded this to a friend and even said 'dead serious'. She definitely lured him. Bad seed she is.
I knew about this story from some show on ID Discovery but I had NO idea that so many people were warning Cody not to marry her. Hearing that even the people at church were warning him creeps me tf out. How "off" was this girl that everyone and their mama knew that something was wrong with her? Why didn't he heed their warnings?

I agree with the statement about "learning to argue". I think people run away from arguments way too much that they never learn patience and how to have a healthy argument. A healthy amount of argument can make the marriage stronger and allow you to learn something new about your partner.
This is very interesting! I wonder how Jordan's family shaped her behavior. It sounds like her entire social experiences are "being a child" at home and at her workplace. The constant presence of a total stranger in her life must have been a shock to her
I think it was more that she was a homicidal narcissist.
@@itsjustlaurel1531 there are no signs that she was a narcissist at all. She seems to have had an intellectual disability and perhaps autism. She was terrified Cody would push her into sex now they're married. Her family would have probably taught her that sex is sinful.

I think she, the wife, was suffering from some mental illness and her husband could only see the more innocent nicer side of her personality. It's a pity the mental illness aspect of the case was not explored in greater depth as clearly orhers noted something amiss.

To me, it sounds like she was autistic and didn't know it and no one else did. It would explain a lot of her behaviour. The immaturity, not thinking things through (not being able to), interacting better with kids than adults, potential black and white thinking, especially in regards to her religion, and one that jumped out at me, people saying what is wrong with her. Also her shyness, quietness and introversion. They are pretty typical signs in girls

I was hoping Dr. Grande had covered this case. The lingering question I have about this case is why was Jordan so absolutely terrified of having sex with her very cute husband? She made many comments to her friends that she was nervous and afraid to have sex. She did come from a very sheltered background, and could've just been frightened of the unknown, but my gut tells me something happened to her as a child. Otherwise why would she think sex would be painful and/or unpleasant? If she had been molested as a child, that might explain why she felt that way. It also might explain her maladjusted, awkward and immature personality - she was emotionally stunted at the age when the abuse happened. Just a theory.
I know this is old. But her biological father was my stepfather. He and all of the other Grahams in his family are narcissists and abusers and violent and sexual predators. To make it clear, I've never met her. She's never met me. But she also has never met her biological father. And yet the genes run strong!
As matter of fact for a very long time she didn't even know that my stepdad was her biological father. She thought it was the man that her mother was with when she was growing up. If her mother kept the same taste of men, It's definitely possible something happened to her as a child. I didn't follow the story too closely because it's a little triggering for me. Having this video pop up on my feed threw me for a loop.
I think if they tested her they'd probably find she has the intellectual level of 8 year old at max. So it seems to me she just didn't like to deal with any sort of problem or discomfort, so pushing him to his death would be fast and convenient for someone with her intellect, rather than going through a divorce etc.
Next time I have a presentation for school, I'm going to channel Dr. Grande energy. His eloquence and ease of speech is so inspiring! 😊

I've heard several true crime channels cover this case and one thing I didn't hear you address was Jordan's panicked text message to her best friend regarding her absolute terror and even disgust at having sex with her husband. In my opinion it was the thing she most feared. She had no male friends and seemed extremely uncomfortable and uninterested in dating. She was supposedly very religious but she was more afraid of sex with her husband than killing him? I don't believe for one second that her issues were simply created by a strict upbringing. I have believed from the 1st time I heard this case that Jordan had a fear and even disgust toward the idea of intimacy with any adult male. I also believe her "girlfriends" convinced her to date and marry even though she showed zero interest in Cody and never expressed any normal romantic feelings or interest of any kind towards him. Yet no one has suggested in any analysis I've heard that her indifference and even disgust of the idea of consummating her marriage might simply be repressed, misunderstood or misguided feelings regarding her sexuality and the happiness and comfort she found in women. I do believe her church and strong religious beliefs would have made her fear of "coming out" impossible in her mind. Being so sheltered and uniformed about such a possibilty was likely in her mind an unforgivable sin, and Cody's "fall" a lesser evil. Of course this is only my opinion but I'm curious as to why it hasn't come up in any discussion or analysis regarding this case.

Jordan basically raised me till I was 9 and the church she went to was my grandparents church and anything about women being attracted to women was highly unacceptable there I know that there’s a lot more to the story then just her sexuality and I 100% believe Cody controlled and mentally if not physically abused her I was basically her kid and before she got with him she answered my calls within the first few rings but after she got with him it took so many calls to get her to answer and she told me a few years ago that it was because he didn’t want her to answer me even though he knew she was basically my mom

This crime feels so tragic and senseless. It is so easy to look at this situation and think- ok the marriage was a mistake, get a divorce and move on. However, we never know what goes on in people’s minds. What may appear like a straightforward decision to one person may look like a precipice to another person. Nevertheless, it does not justify murder.

I don't know what I love more about Dr. Grande's videos. The fact that his analysis is always spot on, or the fact that his incredible wit and sarcasm will have me LOL in every episode.

This case was crazy! The case was going to be tried in my home town of Missoula MT until she pled guilty. Great analysis! 💕
Always appreciate how you break down their (apparent) personality traits! It seems people noticed Jordan being naive more than they noticed her neuroticism (which prob was what made her freak out and think she needed to do something this drastic). That said, I don’t believe that she fought with him in a dangerous place out of being naive/childish. I think she knew what she was doing. She said herself that it was a place he wanted to see before he died (almost like she did something good for him in deciding where to kill him). To me she comes across as much more narcissistic and neurotic than naive/immature (though being naive/immature certainly didn’t help).

Loved this one and the humour was brilliant as always Dr Grande, but I also found your honest advice about getting to know each other well, over a long period of time and learning how not to argue, but also learning "how too argue" that advice is excellent for all young couples.
They’d known each other more than 2 years when they got married. How much longer of a courtship should they have had? Any comment about the reason the husband didn’t take seriously any of the warnings about not marrying her. When members of her church warned him, this should have been a big red flag!
She probably wasn't into men and didn't know it for sure until her wedding night. Not hard to see that considering how religious , sheltered and suppressed she was. But she can't come out and she can't be endure being with him with wifely duties as the religious call it - so she killed him.
they didnt live together until their wedding night. I feel like living with a partner is important when wanting to get married. Going from living with parents (not having a lot of responsibilities in the home) to living with a partner (TONS of responsibilities) is a bit transition. I can't fault her for not adjusting very well to that-it takes time. She still shouldn't have killed him though.

This is what was on True Crime Daily:
- fiancé wanted sex she said "lets wait until we get married"
-after marriage she kept saying my period is really bad to stop him from asking about sex all the time
-husband got frustrated having second thoughts about the marriage, but thats not true, i believed she blindfolded him "to surprise him with something" and she pushed him off the cliff
This was my conclusion as to why she murdered her husband:
- she more than likely she was constantly sexually molested when she was younger
-she still wanted marriage and companionship but was probably traumatized by her past and took her anger out on her husband
Or she is asexual.

This is a very sad example of how poor impulse control in one moment can change the course of one's entire life. If the prefrontal cortex isn't functioning or damaged in some way it becomes really hard to manage emotional impulses. It's kind of like a car not having the brakes to slow down before hitting a person on the road. Very sad.

I can see this behaviour happening. I tried to convince my brother not to marry a particularly odd young woman to no avail. After six months, the marriage had not been consummated. The Catholic Church annulled the marriage. Sad experience for him.
