lambs and Sheep are like that. he doesn't think he's a dog. he thinks the dog , the kid, everyone are sheep. shepherds would let their kids take care of the extra lambs so they can get attached to one person. i raised two of them as a kid and it is one of the most fun and tiring experiences you can have
1:03 He sees his destiny.
The Lord is my Shepherd.
My maiden name is Schafer. It means shepherd in German, as you might know. My nickname as a kid was "Red" because of my hair color. We are kindred spirits 😂😂

I like when the older lamb was playing with the child, he would run as if to headbutt him but always eases up instead. Very cool vid
They don't show the headbutt. If a buck isn't castrated you can't let a child be with him. No matter if he's a pet or a normal livestock sheep. Even castrated they're unpredictable.
@@p.s.7430 I believe you are mostly right, we had 2 way back in time when I lived in the country side. None of them were castrated but one was extremely docile, the other was well ... very unpredictable. Docile or not, I would not let kids below a certain age near them, same with horses but that is due to a very bad experience as a kid.
@@p.s.7430 When I was a child a neighbor gave us a lamb; very cute. By the time he was a year old he was basically terrorizing us all. When he butted my. mom into the corn crib, that was it. We ate him.

The best education a child can get is being compassionate to all species on earth. Thank you.
Caring for an animal, whether it be a dog, a cat, or, in this case a sheep, there are two life long lessons to be learned. It teaches responsibility in maintaining order for a child and it teaches respect for all living creatures. I had a dog from the time I was born through today, where I am a senior. In the past 45 years I have had dogs and cats continuously and most were rescued strays. I can't tell you that I feed wild animals because that would be a violation of law where I live and I don't want to be labeled a hardened criminal type.
@Is really toasty here In my experience, humans aren’t born with a sense of sacrificial love and compassion, they have to be shown that these are more proper and desirable than selfishness and cruelty. It is far easier for a child to assimilate evil than good. And that is the real conflict going on behind the veil that most folks don’t want to discuss.
That said, I really enjoyed the video. These parents are teaching their daughter to have a tender heart. It makes this life more painful, but she’ll be better off in the long run.
Use the head that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gave you and think. Think for yourself, seek after Jesus of Nazareth, and ask Him to open the eyes of your heart.
@@joewright9879 People can be compassionate without the use of a deity. Pretty much without religion in general.

I grew up on a farm and we kept a few of the lambs into adulthood that we had bottle fed. They never ever lose their affinity for humans and always approach you looking for food a scratch or just company. Its useful sometimes if you want the rest of the flock to follow you. They wont if you have a sheep dog with you though as they are generally nervous of dogs.

He looks very much alone in that big pasture, of course he goes nuts when he gets visits. He's clearly bonded with his human family, and he has had dog and cat pals, but now he needs a bestie, a constant companion, another sheep, a goat, a cow, an alpaca. We've raised orphaned lambs but as they get bigger and stronger they naturally butt everything. A ram we raised knocked my grandfather down resulting in him breaking an arm.
