those are some pro-level shots there, guys; well done!! What part of the coast were you near-or, how far is the hike in? I have limited mobility-can't walk more than a couple hundred yards at a stretch.
Looks like close enough range for a polespear on many of those. Am I seeing things? I'm wondering because I just got back from a three week vacation in Florida and had a great time with some cheap Salvimar polespear I got on Amazon, but I thought there wouldn't be an outlet for hunting back home. Very cool to see this.
Yup you could definitely hit a lot of rockfish with a polespear! It is more of a challenge than using a speargun though. I just have found more success using a speargun with a reel.
Awesome video. Out of curiosity how cold was it here? And what was the mm on your wet suit. I’ve only been doing this for about a year in lakes and it’s freezing sometimes, the ocean I’d imagine is almost unbearable. Any tips? Thank you ❤
@@MukADuck I also have a 7mm and it's actually 8 at the chest, it fits very tight and has no loose spots but why am I so cold? Is this just me not used to it yet?
Question from a guy with zero experience but wants to get started in free diving and spear fishing. It looks like most of your shots are really close range, could you use a 3 prong? Or is that not really feasible with larger fish. Love the footage. I’m in Washington as well.
In Marine areas 1,2,3,4 rockfish generally allows for daily limit of 7, for spearing or hook and line. Regs in the straight or sound are much greater, with no rockfish generally allowed...
Why are you grunting at the sea bass they aren’t uku or wahoo bro that shit don’t work what does work tho is tying a little flasher to the end of your gun also scratching sometimes draws them closer

Thank you for the encouragement! I usually don't put all the missed shots in the edit😂 this was on the pacific coast of WA with an insane hike in.

You can definitely use a 3 prong here! I have another vid of diving with my pole spear (has a flopper though). Evolv makes my favorite 3 prong
To jump in on his comment. Where does one go to learn?
That ling shot looked between 30-35ft.
Interesting, you definitely get different rules than line and hook fishing people..
Not sure what you mean?
@@MukADuck We cant keep rock cod.
there are bottomfish depth restrictions in MA4, but we're diving from shore in 50' of water.

35ft?
Yup around that depth
What beach is this?
It's on the Pacific Ocean

A grunt can get them to move a little, I do it all the time to get a better shot
Sinigang for Dinner!!!
Sarap talaga!
