ADD, I will give you credit, Salt Creek is a good shore dive. It can be a tricky entry and exit depending on the swell. There are 20 or more better dives in the San Juan Islands and 100s of better dives in the Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, Desolation Sound and beyond. You need a boat for many of them, but if you can find someone to hop on board with, it is worth exploring. One of my favorites is Okeover Inlet near Powell River, BC. It is stunning!
I've done 3 trips up to Vancouver, BC now. Each trip has had something top-notch. I'm really behind on making content from those trips. There's so much good content. I'd love to get around the San Juan's more but like you said it's difficult without a boat.
Hey there, I'm a Hawaiian who spent a lot of time snorkeling back home. I now live in Des Moines (about 5 min from Redondo) and I'm curious if there are any places that you might recommend for a snorkeler? Mahalo!
The visibility won't be anything like what you have in Hawaii and the water is much colder. Winter time the visibility is better and it gets the deeper you go. Like 40' to 80' sometimes. I've snorkelers at Saltwater State Park. It's doable. Edmonds could be good. People swim there a lot. Some lakes will be clearer like Lake Crescent in Port Angeles. But not as much life in the lakes as there is in the Sound.
@TimothyQuintana I havr a gopro hero 10 with a macromate mini on a tray with video lights extended out. I've upgraged my lights to OrcaTorch. I like the 710V. ruclips.net/video/FrfhX7otRCE/видео.html
Wicked cool man! I’m planning a research trip for six-gill shark footage I can gather myself the week leading up to thanksgiving this year! Great advice!
Am not a diver but love Saltcreek to see all the sealife in the foreshore. Clallam County operates a beautiful campground.😊
Awesome video. Love the six gill.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! The 6 gills are usually only seen for a short time of year around August. I'm hoping to see them again this year.
Good to see this video again after a while! LMAO at the man @ Mukilteo

This is outstanding footage! What settings are you using on your go pro to capture clear close-up footage of nudibranchs? Mine are never focused.
That is thanks to a Backscatter Macromate Mini Lens. It's a magnifying lens with a flip mount so you can switch between close up shots and wide angle.

@jmax8692 6 gill sightings have been reported recently. That's what I was looking for last night. No 6 gills, but a lot of octopus.
