I recently started watching BuzzFeed India and Vishal immediately became my favourite! I always thought he was the coolest and the funniest (I love funny people)!!! And when I came to know that he is from Assam.... I was like oooooh! I am so glad that my favourite person belongs to my home state!!!!! Lots of love 🤩

From Vishal's first video to now, he has really loosened up and his personality is popping. Here for "Assam me world famous" 😂
A few improvised versions of aloo pitika:
1. Add hot mustard oil directly from the pan instead of the raw one as shown in the video. The rest is same.
2. Add some chopped onion or smashed garlic or a few fenugreek seeds or a few jeera seeds to that pan hot mustard oil and then add that to the rest of the pitika.
3. Mash roasted swamp fish (of course after taking its bones out) instead of koni (egg) with the potato. The rest is same. Here raw mustard oil is mandatory. A few drops of lemon juice makes it more scrumptious.
4. Replace boiled potato with roasted potato and don't add eggs. Here you may add roasted swamp fish too as mentioned in the point number 3. Rest is same as the video.
5. Add a few spoons of sattu powder (chickpea flour) to the video's recipe.
6. Mash a boiled olive (Elaeocarpus floribundus) to the video's recipe.

This "Aloo Pitika" seems the same as the Aloo- Deem bhorta we eat here in Bangladesh. Bhorta is a Bangladeshi staple. The comfort food. And when you combine the "BASIC" aloo (Potato) and deem (egg) Bhorta together, you get Aloo deem bhorta. Something I eat on daily basis. And The Assamese cuisine has a lot similarities with Bangladeshi cuisine because Assam is one of the Indian states that shares border with Bangladesh.🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
