There was a time when I was proud too, having born and bred there till my late teens. But like millions of other Indians when we were asked to leave as they don’t give PR/ citizenship even after living there for decades - my love turned to hate. Permanent identity crisis and feeling of not fitting in. One day you will get back to India too and you’ll understand what I mean.
@@mohamedfaizan9844 I did go back to India on an exit while my parents stayed here too. But I got to come back and am still here.. Yes we do undergo an identity crisis. But to be honest, the peace and luxury you'll get in Saudi, you'll get no where. Not even India. I do not want any hate comments but if ill be given an option of Saudi or India, I'll choose Saudi with my eyes closed. India wasn't really a good experience for me. Now Saudi has come out with this new thing where if you buy a property on the grounds of Saudi, you'll get 99 years of residency/citizen. Soo you can always come back.

The problem is that these countries never give permanent residency so at some point you will have to come back to India, and your struggles will begin. Even after 20 years of being back in India I still don’t fit in and still struggle. That’s why I choose now to move to Europe so I can gift my kids permanent settlement abroad. Don’t want them to undergo what I did

Anyway, that’s even worse because it tries to include only people with lots of money, and even then doesn’t give an Indian equal status as a local Saudi. Unlike say, an American Indian or an Australian Indian who have equal rights as a citizen in the eyes of law and social construct. Not saying racism doesn’t exist there, but at least legally they are equal. It’s why you can have a Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister or a Kamala Harris as VP. And I know an Arab will always be higher on the hierarchy than an Indian, no matter what his qualification. I thought of coming back to Saudi in my late 20s by finding a job there. But considering that I will never be an equal and always at risk of being sent back like my Dad was, decided against it. For sure I didn’t want to report to a boss who was way less qualified or educated than me - just because he belonged to a particular race and I wasn’t. Right now I’m in the Netherlands, only 3 years away from applying for citizenship, no matter what my income level or assets. And I can be assured my kids will never be kicked out. I still look back at my Saudi days with very fond memories - I only wish it loved me back as much as I loved it.

You should definitely try Al Rawabi's strawberry milk, Canada Dry Pink Soda, Kiwi Juice, Blue Cheesy Cheetos and Al Marai Vanilla Custard. These snacks were the biggest part of my childhood back when I lived in Sharjah!!!!
