    So if I want to make an earthbending prop, I could just tie a rock to the end?

    • @AxcelerationDesigns
      @AxcelerationDesigns  9 лет назад +102

      Sure. Just don't hit anyone or yourself. I won't be at fault for any bending mishaps lol

      i would use styrofoam for earth bending

    • @katerocks82196
      @katerocks82196 6 лет назад +25

      Is there any way you could make a styrofoam or paper-mache rock, cover it with something like plaster for a rocky texture, and then paint it?

    • @isaned

      They make larp rocks that are foam, so you could do it with those

      Honestly, I've got poi at home, and this looks better... not sure why, maybe because she can adjust the weight, or maybe because the fabric she used flows better

    if you want to wear this costume more often, I have a tip for your bending prop. you should replace your plastic ball with a tennis ball or something similar. just cut it in half (not completely!) and do everything else the same way. this way you can go way harder with your prop and it can take a hit. I did it this way and I could bend without any worries. also, if it hits you it hurts way less XD.

    • @AxcelerationDesigns
      @AxcelerationDesigns  8 лет назад +26

      The point if the ornament was that it was clear. Especially airbending fabric is very sheet and light in color. I didn't want a bright green or blue ball under my white fabric. For another Bender maybe.

    • @hexelien
      @hexelien 8 лет назад +11

      +Axceleration if the ball shows through you could paint it the same color of the fabric so it's less noticeable. and if you're going to do other bender(props), good luck :)

    • @silvertears13
      @silvertears13 6 лет назад +4

      Tips!
      the tennis ball is a great idea but like they said, wrong color, so if you want you can take spair fabric and glue/stitch/whatever to the ball so it is hidden

    I'm actually working on an Azula cosplay for the upcoming EPCON and finding this, just made me feel so much better about making it. So far, my armour isn't as fantastic as I want it to be so I feel adding in this cool trick will make everything so much better, Thank you for putting this out there!

  • @silvertears13
    @silvertears13 6 лет назад +46

    Tips for people! if you wanna give it a 'layered' effect, half way down the bulb (on both sides) glue/tie/whatever some fishing line (about 1-4 inches depending on you) and tie more fabric (preferably smaller and/or thinner). Then you get a sort of whispey effect.
    Note, this means it will get tangled a lot so have patience, and the longer the fishing lines are, the more likly it will tangle. If you want no tangle then just attach the fabric directly to the bulb on both sides

    If u dont have those plastic xmas ornaments near you or cant buy any:
    just take off the cap of a smartwater bottle or a fairly durable water bottle (so basically one that doesn’t crinkle easily), cut it just below the start of the curve, so the semicircle shape is left, and cut off the part the bottle cap screws onto (like how they do with the ornament in the video) u can use a tiny bit of hot glue on the edges if a dremel isnt available. if u have any cracks cuz ur knife slipped just just a hot glue gun and apply thin layers on both sides until it doesnt break easily. Then, cut the sides off of the bottlecap, and make a hole just barely big enough to squeeze the bolt thru.
    If u want to, in between each washer and even the nut at the end i find it helps to put a bit of hot glue for extra security, and to attach the cap to the bottle using hot glue on the cap.
    I really hope this made sense. I just spent all day making it this way, and stress tested it in my front yard, i swung it around for the better part of 30 minutes cuz it was so fun and it doesn’t come undone ❤️ any questions, just leave a reply 🥰

  • @sunnysoraa

    Do you think for fire you could maybe use ribbon twirlies (no idea what there called) that gymnasts used to make a more suitable shape for he element and tie a stone (or whatever you would use to imitate your chosen shape) to some sort of clear, secure rope thing (so good at english) for earth.
    I feel like the fire one would work as it would make it appear more rapid and, with practise, more controlled and the earth one could look cool with exaggerated movements but am not an expert so could anyone confirm!! The method in the video is awesome for water and air though

    Simple, basic, something a 5 year old could do. I may need to watch it a few more times to understand. Lol That fishing line is tough to tie. I still can't seem to get it after watching those fly tying videos.
    Keep rocking it!

    • @tomboytown
      @tomboytown 10 лет назад +3

      a 5 yr old shouldnt have a dremel tool...

    • @jasonbauman1475
      @jasonbauman1475 10 лет назад +1

      A. Not all 5 year Olds can do what my 5 year old can.
      B. It was used to set up a humorous comment afterwards. Devaluing my own abilities, which a 5 year old could do.
      I am sorry if you do not have a sence of humour. I shall refrain from comedy in the future to appease you and your dysfunctions.

    • @tomboytown
      @tomboytown 10 лет назад +3

      Jason Bauman You never stated that your 5 yr old could do what other common 5 yr olds cannot in the *first place.*

      It looks like she just folds the fabric in half and then starts sewing the ends together about an inch down from the top so when she folds it right side out, there's an opening by the fold and sewn edge corner to put the ornament through.
