I played this as a ROM years ago, and it confused me back then. There was no info about the game to be found at that time. Thanks for finally explaining wtf it actually is.
I don't see whats wrong with the ending. 90s blonde Jennifer Aniston tells you you're a pretty rad dude while Patrick Stewert as a discworld wizard reveals he's basically intergalactic willy wonka. 10/10. Was gonna play me some persona 3 but think I'll check this out instead.
@@JasonGravesPoser lol, you know me too well :P But yeah, if you see gameplay of The Immortal, you'll see what I mean, even has the close up fight scenes etc.
I might be the only one, but i literally loved the orginal PC:rom game of this and still think about it even now. the pc game felt like a D&D version of secret of evermore mixed with some weird carmen sandiago vibes... but yeah you had to take notes and like do a lot. but i had a lot of fun with the PC version a long long time ago. i allways wondered about the SNES version... and might of been the only guy who has been waiting forever to see if it was even close to the PC version. im glad i never knew. but am also glad i do now.
I feel like this could have been a great game but there were too many problems to fix so they just gave up. Good video. I never heard of this game at all.
Been watching this series from the start only just the other day and I've found it a blast. Just realizing now I haven't commented on a single vid, so here it is? I've HEARD of this game, either way, but I'm pretty sure once I heard "mostly finished" I wrote it off immediately because I expected barely functional jank. It's...an interesting view of a game that probably deservedly got canceled?
The enemies have very interesting design , they looked to be based off what demons looked like in early Christian mythology & the bible... Animal hybrids abominations
Thanks for showcasing this unreleased game. But I dunno, there's been lots of retail games on SNES garnering the "Seal Of Quality" that were really subpar. First one that comes to mind is Alien VS Predator. Just tried it again a few days ago after not playing it in years and it's just as awful as I remember lol. 😂
Would love to hear your take on some really wierd snes jrpgs many dont know exist released only in japan Maka Maka and The day of the idea. They were both only released here in japan. A wackier earthbound is probably the easiest description.
The glitch version a alpha version called 1.10a there actual a new version thats more complete but still isn't finished version 1.03f that was found and relesed today just saw a video on it by hard4games
What an interesting find! Honestly I quite like the concept of the game - The combat reminds me a lot of The Immortal on the Megadrive. It really makes me wonder, how far actually was this along in development? Was this a pre-alpha, a beta, or a "Finished product"? I believe you touched on this point in the video, asking if it's "50% done, or 90% done" but it certainly begs the question I would hope this is an EAAAAAARLY version of the game, otherwise some of the jank is frankly inexcusable
The same week I put this video out, a more finished prototype was actually found and dumped online, so I guess it's on someone else to find how how much further that version got!
You think this game was a weird experience already? Imagine an 8 year-old with almost no knowledge of the english language trying to figure it out on an emulator.
I think its pretty clearly unfinished. But also pretty clearly crap even if it had been finished. It didnt need tweaking, i dont see anything worth salvaging or reworking. It looks like a inexperienced one man project, and wouldnt be able to compete in the market.
The fights in this game looks like The Immortal for the NES...perhaps this might have been a sequel?
came down here to the comments to see if this was the case
The Immortal was a PC game. The Genesis port was the best. NES port was censored and sucked.
Inspired by, definitely. Looks like a different, less experienced developer tho.
Noticed that to. :)

lol, same
That combat style looks a lot like The Immortal.
The Immortal.

Amazing! 👏🏻
This looks a lot like The Immortal on the Genesis/Amiga. Is it part of the series at all?
I know commenting on everything is kind of your thing, but still a welcome surprise! As far as I know there's no relation.
@@JasonGravesPoser lol, you know me too well :P
But yeah, if you see gameplay of The Immortal, you'll see what I mean, even has the close up fight scenes etc.
It's bad-ass that you played, beat, and reviewed this game. Good stuff, bro.
He has my respect for this
great work dude, never heard of this game before. good to know.
Looking forward to a speedrun of this.

Aw thanks man
Unfinished snes games are something I didn't expect

Dude you gotta take the mask off when you go outside it falls down so much when you talk anyways lol. Breathe that fresh air in
"Hey guys, you know that NES game that 95% of players can't get out of the second room of? Lets copy the battle system of that!"

Algorithm comment for a cool video made by a cool dude.
THE HEALTH METERS IN COMBAT JUST SAY
YOU
THEM
😭😭
I had this on a Dreamcast disc full of SNES game, could never get very far on it though
thank you for playing this game so we don't have to.
Please. someone found the Pewter Mug? Even a vague hint of location will help me a lot. Thanks.
I wish I could remember, but everything looks the friggin same
@@JasonGravesPoser I understand...thanks
Gota tend to the chickens and then I will soak this quality content up.
Damn I thought I was the only one who played the ROM of this.
First impression, terrible Toejam and Earl.
Exactly my thoughts
I've had the rom of this game forever.
holy crap this is the game that should be buried in the desert.
Interesting concept

Lol talk about timing
Is there an unedited copy by chance you could upload?

Good job being the first bud.
I see you like em obscure. You ever mess with fan translation stuff like feda or fire emblem 4 and 5? Some interesting stuff.
Next video will be FE 4
@@JasonGravesPoser haha I'm playing through 4 right now for the first time. I started with 5...that was a mistake.
Nice
Levels look like a small step up from Toe Jam and Earl
Toejam & Earl is actually fun to play.
@@NateTheGnat Not arguing that. Super fun game.
My dad worked at Nintendo so I played it. I also had an Xbox 4
Commenting because algo
it's like they forgot they were making a SUPER NES game right after they started. Put some mode 7 in there somewhere, FFS.....
It looks like someone ripped the code from The Immortal and tried to rework it into a more traditional RPG.
Looks like Diablo and same story on paper
He’s sorry for his deception… what deception? was he using a spell to appear as the blonde girl?
It looks like an awful game, but I love that giant magic Q-tip weapon. 😅
Looks like a poor attempt at blending Ultima 6/7 with Quest for Glory 2

It's like ugly "The Immortal" meets a crap tier Hydlide" interface.
Looks like a terrible version of The Immortal on pc or Genesis.
snes9x???? in 2023??? sir we have RetroArch now
