- In this video, we check out "Emmett's cabin in Death Valley National Park. This is another volunteer maintained cabin about 25 miles off the paved road out a very rough gravel road. This cabin is very rustic and could use a little love. If you decide to head out here, be sure to bring plenty of food and fire wood. The stove is connected to a 5 gallon propane bottle and appeared to have a fair amount of gas in it at the time. There is no water available at this cabin, but you can stock up at the spring at Geologist cabin.
Excellent little cabin. Needs some attention but has potential. Thanks for posting.
Just needs a HAM antenna.
Gotta luv that volunteer upkeep ethic most visitors to cabins in the park display. Thanks for sharing.
Sad. Someone took the framed photo of Jesus. :-(
A good reason for you to visit again
How can I search for location on google maps ???
Thanks for the tour and sharing the "code" of cabin ethics. It's so great to have these available, we all need to take good care of them.
I’m here for the dog 🐶!!
Thanks Miu Miu. I loves me my Mowgli.
Would be nice if people did not vandalize some of these old cabins so that they can serve as emergency shelters for those who get stranded. Great video. Thanks.
The 3 cabins we saw on this trip really did not show signs of vandalism. Sherries cabin (no video) was a bit run down, but still in usable shape. The bus at Emmett's is another story. sad face
How do you cope with mice and rat droppings? I would not sleep or cook with that going on. I recognize this is very common.
It's not for everyone :)
That Chevy School bus, likely the one that belonged to the Manson's?
Not likely.
Love your channel and subscribed.
Check out these canyons are full of ghosts the last of the Death Valley prospectors

👍👍👍👍
Same here, Emmet provided a CSU SanBerdoo field trip with the 'I was there' tales ref'd in his book. I had met his explosive compatriot "Boom Boom" back in the 80s.
Thanks for the video and log book buddies.
Awwww Mowgli❤️🐾
Everybody loves the dog :D
