Thank you for posting this video. I just got prescription glasses for the very first time but ive been wearing polarized shades for years. I wasn't happy witht the transitions i got and when i went back to the optician they didn't even know about these.

@@HicksBrunsonEyewear im getting these sunglasses high index photochromic. what is the difference between the crizal sapphire UV 360 and the Essilor Xtractive ? will the Essilor transitions Xtractive come with the sapphire no glare lenses such as blue light violet light protection reduce glare resist scratches repels dust repels water resist smudges?
@@DeityWolverine XTRActive is the photochromic product that darkens to a polarized grey. Sapphire 360 is one of many available coatings to be added to the lenses that reduces glare and resists scratching and smudging.
Thanks for the vid! I'm considering these lenses as I have a very strong progressive lens prescription with prism in them as well. I like the idea of a base tint to lessen the fish-eye aquarium look my strong lenses have ; ) I also have been wearing contacts alternately with glasses with progressives and the prism, so I do not have to futz around with readers, but I'm tired of that because it seems I see better with my strong lenses w no contacts. Man, did I win the eye malady lottery!

Thanks for your channel i have the oniel ons barrel and green mirror onand brown base and it works only when the fish are shallow i want to see the bottom of the lake its about 9 feet deep any suggestions would be appreciated and the bottom is covered in by black shells l ike lake placid

Great video, read in an earlier comment that can add a custom flash mirror. Is that the same mirror technology in the other XTRActive lenses. I was looking for in their blue mirror.
Highly recommend day and night to resist glare
Thanks for the video and heads up on the new XTRActive polarised lenses, I'm hoping these appear in the UK soon. I'd love a bit more info in your videos about fade back times. Transitions typically turn dark pretty quickly no matter the version, and XTRActive get nice and dark but they've been around for a while now and never have seemed to improve on fade back time which isn't that quick, this can be problem going inside after being outside especially in bright but cooler weather as you end up wearing sunglasses (as XTRActive can get really dark) for quite some time indoors. So with these being new technology with the polarisation dye, it would be great to see a comparison with normal XTRActive to see how they fade back. Also do they go as dark? A lot of light is unpolarised so it would good to know if they get as dark as XTRActive normal grey lenses.
To my understanding XTRActive has a slower fade back time as compared to Signature because it reaches darker levels of tint. That being said, I’m sure the development scientists at Transitions optical are working on improving that time if possible. They’ve certainly improved it with Signature. From what I have seen so far they do get as dark as the original XTRActive, but thanks for the suggestions. I will add them to my video projects list to make a comparison video. -Daniel Brunson

Hello Chris. Thanks for the feedback. I like the fade back times comparison idea, and I will do it in a future video. I wear a lot of glasses with the original XTRActive, and from my personal feeling about it the XTRActive Polarized seem to get just as dark as the original under the same conditions whether in the car or outdoors.

Which of these lenses would You recommend for someone who is light sensitive because of chronic neurological condition, specially indoors (electronic markets/tv screen) to minimize blepharospasm ? I would be grateful for Your opinion
I can not give medical advice regarding your specific condition, but I can say generally that Transitions lenses are highly useful for combatting issues with light sensitivity. Protecting the eyes from bright sunlight outdoors helps with visual clarity once you are back indoors. I always recommend Blue Light lenses for use while spending time indoors on screens. BlueTech makes a good blue filter lens for screens.
I like the blue tint you added on the brown lens in another video can you do that to these polarized gray also

Quick question: If a customer dropped off a frame to get prescription Transition Xtractive lenses made for them, how long would it be before the customer was able to pick them up? Say they dropped them off on a Monday.
If we start lenses on a Monday, then we typically finish them by the following Monday. In some cases this may take longer, but in other cases we are able to finish faster.
Two ?’s. Can you use these with trifocals and do they help with the VERY BRITE lights in Walmart? I have had 6 eye surgeries in same eye. I can’t stand ANY brite lights. Please reply. Thankyou!
Lined trifocals, not to be confused with "No-Line" Progressive lenses, are available in Transitions colors Grey and Brown. Any color custom tint can then be added. Light indoor tinted lenses do help with indoor fluorescent lighting and other types of bright lighting.
Does this Transitions Xtractive Polarized lenses work well with computer screen, phone and car Lcd as well or it turned dark as other polarized?
Like all polarized lenses it will only turn the screen dark when it is fully darkened and only if it is rotated 90 degrees in front of the screen. When clear it will not turn the screens dark no matter what because it is not polarized when it is clear.

There’s been no official announcement, but if I were betting I would bet there will be one eventually.
I bought the polarized ones. They’re more expensive but I can’t tell if they’re actually polarized or they just gave me the cheaper ones and hoped I didn’t notice. Any tests I can run?
Yes. Take them outside on a bright sunny day and let them reach max darkness. Then quickly hold them in front of an LCD computer monitor screen. Then slowly rotate the lenses clockwise. Keep turning until the glasses are now vertical. At some point along the way you should see your LCD screen partially or completely black out or at the very least you should see it dim. If does any of those things than it is an XTRActive Polarized. If there is no change, not even a slight dimming effect then it is not polarized. It is important that you have the lenses as dark as you can get them when you do this test because the polarization is variable. When the lenses have lightened back up towards clear the polarization is mostly gone.

Hello. Transitions XTRActive lenses filter blue light both indoors and out by their nature so adding a blue filter is not necessary.
Transitions signature Gen 8 Graphite Green comes with Crizal fog ID or not? Please clarify.
Transitions Gen 8 is compatible with many different types of anti-reflective coatings. Crizal is one of them, but you could use many others as well.
How do these behave indoors in front of screens?? Can you notice the polarization effect indoors on screens? Or is it only when they transition??
Because the polarization is variable, you will only notice the rainbow effect on screens when the lenses are dark. When the lenses are clear the molecules are not lined up in a way that blocks polarized light so they will have no effect on glare or screens while they are clear.
Ok I'm look for a transition lens that will let me see fish in black stained water and sometimes it green stained water no transition get polarized I love to go fishing
Hey! I just purchased some glasses with 1.53 Trivex Transitions XTRActive Polarized SV gray lenses from Zenni Optical. Is there a way to test these lenses to see if they're actually polarized?
Polarizing blocks the horizontal light, if you place another polarized lens in front of your lens and turn one 90° it should block out all light.
Is the Matsunaga available in low bridge fit?
The 000 is only available in one bridge style, but that style generally does fit well on small or low bridges. If it still fits too low then consider adding our custom nose pad service.
When I'm wearing my polarized sunglasses and look at my phone screen horizontally, I can no longer see the screen. Will I have this same issue with the Transitions Xtractive Polarized?
Yes, but only when the lenses are dark. You will have no problem seeing your screen with the lenses are clear.

They should be about equal, but I have not done a side by side comparison.
Just returned XTRActive Polarized lenses. Since they barely darkened and don't polarize in the car, I thought they were useless.
Thanks for leaving your comment. When the UV is strong they are capable of category 2 darkness behind the windshield. The polarization is relative to the lens darkness, so they do polarize behind the windshield although not to the same degree that they will polarized in direct sunlight. Did you only buy them to wear in the car, or did you find them useful in other outdoor environments?
They shouldn't have polarization in a car, because you'll see rainbow glare on your car window. This can be dangerous for driving. You can see this with polarized sunglasses in car. Because of that, polarized sunglasses are forbidden for airplane pilots.

Car windows may have extra dark tint. Windshield is UV filtered, or blocks out light to react the glasses, to full degree, how did they perform in normal outdoors like walking outside for a few minutes.

do you know when the chemistry stops working? my transitions lenses won't go dark anymore (they're like 3 years old) is this normal?
It's a little bit like mileage on a car. The number of exposures to the sun has more to do with it than time, but I have not known of them to quit darkening after only three years. I still have Transitions lenses that are much older than three years that still work really well.

Do do the majority of your driving and outdoor activities during the day? If the answer is yes, then I recommend Drivewear. The only time Drivewear will not work is at night. It does not get light enough for nighttime driving.

What about regular lined bifocal lenses? Is there a lined bifocal that has these same features?
There is not and there may not ever be one available for lined bifocals. Lined bifocals have been steadily declining in popularity for the past 25 to 30 years as progressive lens technology has gotten better and more popular. Quite a few other more recent technologies in photochromics to release in the past few years are still not available in lined bifocals, and my guess is that they may never be.
Hello Chris. Transitions XTRActive Polarized, could it be used to cook, walk, during the night as a progressive lens for permanent use? Does Transitions XTRActive Polarized stay completely clear indoors at night? I imagine that if Polarized was invented for sunglasses, and now to use them in custom lenses with Transitions XTRActive, at night in the absence of sunlight they would stop being Polarized at night?
Transitions XTRActive Polarized Progressive lenses, can they be given an antireflex treatment? Or do you already have them included in the Transitions XTRActive Polarized? I will greatly appreciate your response.

XTRActive Polarized goes to virtually clear at night. There is a hint of tint, but this tint is so minimal that most people will never notice it so they work perfectly at night. Yes, you can add an anti-reflective coating.

It is the best photochromic lens to date for your situation. The XTRActive tech gets darker in warmer weather than any other photochromic I know of.

Thank you for the video. Is there a way to confirm the authenticity of the lens. How can someone check if the lens is transitions or a regular photochromatic lens.
Also can we have polarized lenses when the prescription has prisms?
You might be able to get a Transitions Certificate of authenticity from your eyecare provider. You can have Prims in the XTRActive Polarized, although there may be a max amount of prism limit.

Hello, Love your videos, always a very good job. Question: At 7:56 minutes in this video, you say. "This lens is available in both single vision and in Progressive Lenses so no matter what type of prescription you need, no matter what your lifestyle, it can be done in a Progressive or single vision for you.” My Optometrist says the Polarized Lenses are only available in Single Vision. Is that true? Thanks.
Hello Stephen. Both have been available for a while now. We have made many pairs of Progressive glasses in XTRActive Polarized. Autograph Intelligence is our lens of choice.

@@HB238 Whichever lens brand/design you prefer is up to you. The Transitions XTRActive is available to use with most of them.
Would the Xtractive polarized not be an option since my lens is trivex in a Sync III (Hoya)? Or possibly something that the optometrist's lab could not do? I looked at your website but I'm assuming I have to get the full set of frame and lenses?
@@HB238 I can make lenses for your existing frame if you like. As for which lens, I would have to check availability in Hoya. It may be available. Also, Trivex is not yet available as far as I know. can you see different type of screens except LED screen??
When they are clear you can see all screens just fine. When they are dark you will sometimes see a subtle color shift on screens as happens with all polarized lenses.
Can you read with xtractive polarized what you are outside?

It’s highly likely they would. Of all the Photochromic tech that exists, these lenses would be your best bet for light sensitivity.
Do the XtrActive 8 lenses get darker than the new XtrActive + polarization lenses in bright sun outside?
XTRActive is currently in Gen 2. Signature is in Gen 8. It does seem like that the XTRActive Gen 2 Non-Polarized does get slightly darker than the XTRActive Polarized, but that is strictly based on my eye test and not anything scientific. It has not been noticeable to me while wearing the glasses. I only see it when I darken them both and lay them on white paper next to each other.
Any thoughts on Progressive lens with Xtractive polarized? Is there a cons when using on a computer screen especially i work 8 hours a day on computer screen?
There are no cons on XTRActive Polarized regarding screens as it is only polarized when it is dark. It is nice if you like polarized lenses for outdoor use.
Thanks for the video, I'm looking into getting these and I have the option to further coat them in a blue light filter, but have been advised it would make them not as dark in sunlight. Do you have any experience in this? And do you think it might be a little redundant to add more blue light filter if this lenses already claims to filter it out? I would be primarily needing the blue light for monitors and screens etc indoors. but would also like to use them for driving or outdoors in sunny weather. Thanks for any help in advance.
Blue filters can not be added to Transitions lenses, and also are not necessary because the Transitions lens already filters blue light indoors and outdoors. According to the manufacturer,
Transitions XTRActive: Indoors Blocks 35% of blue light at 415-455 namometers. While outdoors and activated it blocks 89% of blue light at the 415-455 nanometer range. Those numbers are for XTRActive, so the XTRActive Polarized may be slightly different, but I suspect the numbers would be higher.

@@ke5851 It depends on the blue filter being used. Essilor's eyeZen+ lens filters 20% of blue light at the 415-455 mm range. Add Crizal Prevencia AR coating and you can increase this percentage to 30%.
@@HicksBrunsonEyewear So no coated lenses would block out 80-100% of the harmful blue light indoors?
@@ke5851 Some will block 100%, but it is important to understand at what nanometer range the lenses are blocking that blue light. It would take dark amber sunglass lenses to block high percentage across a broad spectrum of light. Most blue light lenses that appear clear indoors block a hight percentage of blue light in the narrow range of 390 to 420 nm range. BlueTech is an alternative lens with some visible amber tinting that block 46% of blue light at the 455 nm range, which some studies show is the peak point at which LED screens cause the most eye strain. So choosing blue light lenses comes down to how much you want to block and how comfortable are you with some visible lens tint.
What is the VLT (Visible Light Transmission from clear to very dark %)of that new technology?

I do not believe this information has been published, but I would put the VLT somewhere in the range of 10% at the darkest point since it is capable of reaching a category 3 darkness. At it's clearest point the tint color is barely visible at all, so I would say the VLT is pretty high.

When near CLEAR do they distort computer screens/ smartphones with the polarization iridescent visual artifact?
They do not.
Can transitions xtractive polarized be paired with the style mirror like the regular xtractive model?
Can it be paired with a light fashion tint too?
We can pair Transitions XTRActive Polarized with a fashion tint and with flash mirrors so long as the mirrors are Blue, Silver, or Gold.

Are these exactly the same as the xtractive new gen with just polarization? Do they get as dark as the xtractive new gen?
Sometimes to my own eyes I think the XTRActive Polarized do not get as dark as XTRActive Non-Polarized, but there is nothing in the technical papers that I am aware of that confirms this. Even if they do not get as dark, which I am not saying that is true, but even if it is, the fact that they are polarized makes them feel pretty comfortable in bright sun.
Can I get these lenses in a Bifocal prescription lens???
These lenses are available exclusively in single vision and progressive designs.
I bought mine in my country. does a certificate come for all classes, the old xtractive came with it but the new xtractive polarized did not. And my lenses scratched so easy and.... This is very disappointing....
Sometimes the lab of origin does not send a certificate. The scratch resistance of the surface will vary depending upon the anti-reflective coating that was applied to that lens. Some coatings have a higher grade scratch resistance than others.
Are the Transitions XTRActive Polarized replacing the Vantage altogether? Are they darker than Vantage indoors? Thank you
They are replacing Vantage, and to my eye they do not seem to be darker indoors. Any visible color indoors is almost not noticeable. They do however get much darker behind the windshield, which is awesome.

My glasses just arrived a few days ago from my optometrist in NC. I ordered the Transitions Xtractive Polarized. I love the lenses. I believe they are Xtractive but have a feeling they are not the polarized version. I tried to get them as dark as possible in the sunlight and then hold them against a computer screen/TV and turn them 90degrees and they don't change. Thanks in advance for your help. Can you direct me as to as surefire way to tell if these are the Xtractive polarized or not or do I need to visit the optometrist for that? Thanks in advance.
@@MB-tn3fr You are checking it the right way. There are a couple of things to consider though. Most LCD screens use a polarizing filter to help you see the screen in bright sunlight. The polarizing filter may be oriented differently in each screen, which means when you rotate your lenses in front of a screen there should be a point where the polarized lenses will counteract with the filter on the screen and they will cancel each other out. At this point the lenses will black out. You might check more than one screen though or try different degrees of rotation. My iMac screen blacks out at 90 degrees, whereas my screen on my PC blacks out at 45 degrees. My iPhone screen does not ever black out completely, but it does slightly dim and change color. You should see the lenses go black or close to black at some point of rotations on an LCD screen as long as the lenses are sufficiently darkened from UV light. The polarization is variable, so the darker the lenses the more the screen will black out. If you rotate the lenses and you see no change whatsoever, then the lenses are likely not polarized.
You don't want polarized when indoors watching TV or using a phone or computer screen correct? Also, is polarization more advantageous or detrimental for night driving?
I thought polarized lenses were not good for screens. It distorts smartphone screens, does it not?
Polarized lenses throw the color spectrum off on smart phone screens meaning you will sometimes see colors on the screen that you should not see. This can be annoying for some people. The Transitions XTRActive Polarized lens will only do that when it is dark. When it is clear indoors it is not polarized and will not distort colors on screens.
@@HicksBrunsonEyewear Have you tried Transitions Drivewear for daytime driving? It is more of a sunglass made especially for driving of course and varies between shades of green and amber/brown, but has amazing contrast and clarity without glare (polarized too). I had some put in my extra large gold RayBan aviators but probably time for an Rx update since it is from like six years ago now.
Of course in that case I would just wear my new Signature Gen8's that I ordered for nighttime driving vs. getting the XTRActive (polarized or not) for both day and night driving.
Can i wear them while i am in front of a pc screen ?
Yes because when they are clear there is little to no effect on screens that dark polarized lenses have. You will not notice anything different relating to screen viewing when they are clear.
What's the price difference between xtractive an extra active polarize
It will add about $120 to $160 depending on lens type to upgrade to XTRActive Polarized
The Transitions website says that they don’t polarize behind a windshield, only darken, because of the UV filter. Is this true? Also, could you compare these with Transitions Drivewear?
To my understanding the polarization is variable. That means they become more polarized the darker they get, or vice versa, they are less polarized the lighter they get. If you can see any tinting at all you will have some polarization, just not as much as when they are fully darkened. DriveWear is a fantastic polarized Transitions lens, you just can't wear it at night because it the tint is never light enough to see at night. We may do a comparison video some day.

@@HicksBrunsonEyewear They apparently only polarize with UV and thus in a car only tint a little. The reason behind that is they have UV reactive material for getting darker and polarizing and a little bit of light reactive material which is the "XtrActive" part. So the fact it darkens in a vehicle doesn't mean it's polarizing unless you're walking around or maybe if you have the window down while driving some UV might trigger a small amount of polarization with a tad more darkening as well but driving with the window down kind of sucks lol.
do the xtractive stay slightly darker when indoors making it hard for daily use?
Hi Brian, XTRActive have only a hint of tint indoors. They are perfectly suitable for indoor use and night time use. The slight hint of tint is hardly visible, and most will not even notice it unless you place the lenses directly on top of white paper in a well lit room.

I wouldn't bother if the primary reason for wanting polarized is when driving as the polarization only comes into effect when UV hits the lenses. Car windows block UV and thus you only get polarization while walking around in the sun. It seems too that the polarized variety doesn't get as dark as the standard Xtractive.
I went with the xtractive with the none polarized did I miss up not getting the polarized…and the glare is getting annoying.. I can see it in the corner of my eyes…
Polarized or non is really a matter of personal preference. I still really enjoy wearing the non Polarized XTRActive Brown most of the time. If you see the glare in the corner of your eyes it sounds like maybe you see the glare on the lenses. Do the lenses have an anti-reflective coating?
Please compare transitions xtractive w/ style mirror vs. Transitions xtractive polarized, especially in car. Which gets darkest and blocks most reflective glare. I enjoy your informative videos. Thanks

I am planning to buy xtractive polarised. My priority is that the lens should get sufficiently darken in the car. Should i go ahead with xtractive polarised?. Or i stick to xtractive only?
I'm looking into which to get as well and while gathering info on all the types, polarized don't seem to get as dark nor do they actually polarize in the car due to the polarized part only being UV reactive and car windows blocking UV. So I'm thinking I myself will go with Xtractive over Xtractive polarized. If you do a lot of hiking and walking around however the polarized might be a better option, they're not quite as dark but the fact it blocks all those bright reflections might be more beneficial. I have rather extreme light sensitivity so darker overall is more ideal.
Both Polarized and Non-Polarized XTRActive lenses will darken in the car. Sometimes I wonder if the polarized do not get as dark, but in my opinion the difference is small. I usually opt for the non-polarized because it only comes in grey and I prefer the brown color. That is a personal preference.
In terms of having the thinnest lens what can you have? Is 1.74 possible or not with these?
At this time 1.67 is the highest index, or thinnest lens, available in XTRActive Polarized.

At times I have wondered if the XTRActive Polarized do not get as dark as the XTRActive Gen 2 Non-Polarized, but that could all be in my head. I have never tried testing this. If there is a difference it is marginal at best in my opinion.
@@HicksBrunsonEyewear I've seen a couple of videos, and it seems to be true that the polarized version doesn't get as dark. Funny enough, Transitions advertises polarized to be on the same darkness rating as the XTRActive Gen 2's "Extra dark".

You mentioned that these lenses would not only darken behind a windshield but would become polarized as well. This is contrary to all the marketing material on these lenses. The material is very specific in stating that the lenses would darken somewhat behind a windshield but would not activate the polarization. You should clarify this for your viewers.
Thanks for the feedback. I don't remember exactly how I phrased it in the video, but I like think of the polarization as being variable. That means that when they are little bit dark, they are a little bit polarized. They may not be 100% polarized, but they are some percentage polarized depending on the darkness of the lens. When they are completely clear they are not polarized at all, but once you can see them darkening then they are slightly polarized. Here is the definition of the word Polarized according to the Oxford: "To restrict the vibrations of (a transverse wave, especially light) wholly or partially to one direction." I can tell you from my own testing that they do begin reducing or restricting glare, even if only partially, when the lenses are slightly tinted. Unless I am misunderstanding the meaning of the definition of the word polarized, I think it is ok to say the lenses are partially polarized in the car. I will talk to the lens development scientists this year at Transitions Academy and report back if I get any further clarification on why the marketing materials say otherwise.

“The lens is not polarized behind the windshield.” This is directly from marketing materials announcing the new lens. It is not OK to continue to refer to it as polarized or partially polarized because it is not. The manufacturers testing results showed that the lens failed to meet the minimum efficiency standards necessary to call a lens polarized when it was behind the windshield of a car. Therefore they did not make the claim that it does. I suggest you follow their lead.

Sunglasses will always be a nice option for certain situations, but a smart lens that darkens automatically when needed is so convenient.
Do they go really dark?
Transitions claims they are capable of category 3 darkness in full sun and category 2 darkness behind the windshield. I have experienced similar results myself. I have however noticed that the non polarized XTRActive Gen 2 seems to me to get slightly darker than the XTRActive Polarized. But visual results from the wearer perspective may feel more comfortable even though the polarized version may be slightly lighter because of polarization controlling the glare more effectively.
My concern isn’t about darkness. I’m concerned about how fast they will change from dark to as clear as they can get. I don’t want to drive to a client and go into his office and it’s fking to take 8-10 minutes for the lenses to get to clear as they can get.
That’s a valid concern when making house calls to clients. There are variables though. The fadeback times vary depending on temperature and on how dark did they get. They take longer to fade back from full darkness than from partial darkness. Also, they are slower to fadeback if they were exposed for several minutes or more to cooler temps (below about 55 degrees). The new Gen S that released yesterday does not come polarized or have ‘behind the windshield’ activation, but has the fastest fadeback time to date at about 2 minutes 30 seconds. I would consider it for client call situations.

"behind the windshield it will darken somewhat". I would really like photochromic lenses that fully darken inside the car, but the technology isn't there yet. If the lenses don't get dark enough and you have to use clip-ons, etc, it kind of defeats the purpose. Currently I have a pair of prescription sunglasses just for driving.
Thanks for watching! I would also love a technology that fully darkens in the car, but you are correct that it is just not there yet. Until then I continue to be pleased with the current ability of XTRActive to reach category 2 darkness in the car, which is something that previous technologies fell far short of. I still think there is a value to Transitions lenses in quite a few other outdoor activities. The car situation is an example of why I do not think that Transitions lenses fully replace sunglasses, but they do make regular glasses better. They make them more comfortable to wear in most other outdoor environments. That is true. If this bothers you then it is recommended to go with a non-polarized lens.
Does XTRActive Polarized or regular XTRActive get the darkest in the car?
From my experience they are no different behind the windshield. They are both powered by XTRActive Gen 2 Technology.
Why do you have the same photos in every transition video. Makes it hard to know which are for which lens type. These are the same photos as your xtra active video
Hello Austin. All photos in this video except one were of this frame you see me wearing in this video. Most of the shots in this video are B roll shots of this frame or another frame with the XTRActive Polarized lenses as described in this video. The only photo here that shows a different lens is the photo of the other gentleman near the end of the video at the 7:37 mark. That is a Transitions Signature Gen 8 Grey, but he is wearing the same frame I am wearing in the video, and he is under the cover of an awing in the shade. I used it because the mid tint color of the lens in the photo looks the same as the XTRActive Porlarized in many similar instances as described in this video. Thanks for your comment.
Photochromics are truly never CLEAR even indoors. They always have some tint. Very little but never as CLEAR indoors as regular untreated lenses.
I agree with you, but I think there is some variance here that can depend on the manufacturing processes used and maybe the lens material. I have seen some Photochromic lenses that when placed on white paper under bright lights next to a non-photochromic lens that are so hard to tell the difference that I think most people would never be able to see the difference especially when the lenses finished in glasses on a face.
Misleading. Doesn't get polarized in the car. The claim they make in the whitepaper is max 30% polarization when not in direct sunlight.
It is true that the polarization is variable, meaning they are not as polarized in the car as they are in direct sunlight. The value of this lens is that it is the only photochromic lens that is clear indoors and provides any polarization at all behind the windshield. You might also want to look at Transitions Drivewear.
I really don't care to hear or see "your frames" I have come here to see the XTRActive, all I heard was talk talk talk with the same sentence spoken 4 times or more, not a good video.
