Great video! I really enjoyed watching your video because it is very helpful to me. Congratulations on your academics and your extracurriculars. You did an amazing job! It will be 3 years in May. My two books might have the same content but different chapters. Will be earning my AA degree in Liberal Arts this semester. I’ve been studying at a 2-year college within 7 years. I grew up with my Spanish speaking family who are from Colombia and Puerto Rico. Acting and journalism are my dream career. My dream career is to be an actor and journalist. Acting and journalism are part of who I am. Including writing my own book. After I complete with my AA degree in Liberal Arts, I will train for acting in the studio. Then, I will be working on my BA degree in Broadcast Journalism. I graduated from high school in the year of 2016. I was a top 10% of my graduation class. I had a 3.7 as my overall grade point average from high school. I was born in the city of Buffalo in New York. I lived there in my early childhood until age 5 because I had to travel all over the states due to my dad’s job in the military service. I have been to 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 4 high schools, and 3 community colleges. I had to switch schools because my dad stationed everywhere in the states. He is technically my stepdad, but I always call him dad because he is the man who raised me as a child. I have a younger brother in my mom’s side. I have four younger sisters and one baby brother in my bio dad’s side. My bio parents are from Puerto Rico, and my stepdad is from Colombia. My college grade point average is a 3.1 as my overall. I was in the Dean’s List three times from a 2-year college. During my first time attended to college, I was studying management of working on my technical diploma. When I moved to another state, I have switched from management as my technical diploma to liberal arts as working on my AA degree. I have been working on my AA degree within 6 years. I took theatre and journalism courses at a 2-year college, it was not too long ago. Back in my senior year of high school, I was going to study computer specialists as working on my AS degree. Due to my lower scores on reading and writing as placement tests, I had switched my major from computer specialists as working on my AS degree to management as my working on my technical diploma at a 2-year college. Again, you did a great job on your academics and extracurriculars. It is very impressive. During my high school extracurriculars, I was a member of Spanish club and National Honor Society. Also, I was a member of Boys and Girls within 3 years. It was 3 semesters for middle school, and 1 semester for high school. I was in Boys and Girls Club during the summer within 2 years. I had to quit Spanish club in high school because I had to move again during 10th grade. Then, I completed Spanish 1 as my foreign language for receiving half credit for my semester of 10th grade. Then, I practiced my Spanish at home on my own. When I started to get better with sentences, I started to speak more Spanish fluently. I learned Spanish and English at the same time at a young age, but I started to speak more Spanish at age 16. Then, I started to speak it fluently at age 18. Hello I’m a freshman in highschool right now. I got placed into AP Bio and got a C. My gpa is currently 3.5 (3.8 weighted). Did this ruin my chances? I do have a good amount of extracurriculars, but I’m afraid I ruined my chances of attending a selective school. My highschool is extremely competitive. So competitive that the school had to limit the amount of AP and Honors classes that we were allowed to take. My parents are saying that I don’t have a chance anymore. Is it true? Please, someone, reply.
You’re good. Even just mental mathing, you can undoubtedly reach and surpass the average 4.2 high school gpa of Harvard students. I am worried about your parent’s reactions toward it. Considering how little research the above took, sounds like they didn’t do any and just took the opportunity to add more pressure onto you
Hi Rishab. Is it possible that you can share your full common application personal statement and supplemental essays for each school (MIT, Stanford, Harvard)? I am unsure if this is too personal (I apologize if it is) but I would greatly appreciate if you can make a video on this.
I'm 3 months late but how do you do all of this without getting overwhelmed. I'm a freshman in highschool and there's so much I want to do but even hearing about what you've done gets me overwhelmed... Any tips?

Community service is almost always the most common ec for admitted students. Research is a great ec if you are pursuing it on your own/with a professor, but schools are getting better about recognizing pay-to-play research companies.
Hey Rishab! I have a few questions, did you have a sponsor when you did the nonprofit and if so, who can I reach to to start one and for JSHS if you had a mentor for any of the competitions who do you recommend as a mentor?
Not when starting, no. For some of my research projects I had mentors, but I reached out after I had finished my research for publication, commercialization, feedback, etc.
How do you take so many AP classes per year? I live in a very rural area and my school doesn't offer AP classes or any extracurriculars besides a handful of sports and the honor's society. Even if they did offer AP classes there's only so many periods in one school day, let alone enough to do more than 2 AP classes at the time. What do I do? I haven't even achieved a tenth of what you have, and I'm aiming for Ivy. Am I doomed?
No. The colleges look at what classes you took vs. what classes were available at your school. Also, you can consider taking college or online advanced classes to show you tried.
