I cannot thank you enough for this wonderful slideshow. Whenever I feel as if humanity is blindly set on a course of self-destruction, art like this restores my belief in the human enterprise and the capacity for love and beauty to prevail over darkness. What a gift Maier has left us!
What I love, in addition to the power of the photos' composition and the thoughts they create, is the other aspects of life that they document, which are now gone - the cars, the signs, the hairstyles, the clothing.
continued......same comment as part one from me and in addition, The thing I as a photographer see and somewhat regret not having now is the fact people do not see someone with a camera as an INVADER. People seemed happy to have their picture taken. Even children, openly, you cannot do this today. Truly a wonderful feeling to capture images in this type of environment
Quoique l’on dise sur la cas Vivian MAIER, je dois dire que je suis absolument subjugué par son oeil et son talent ..... et ça dépasse tout et toutes les polémiques. Je me fous si certaines personnes profitent de son talent post mortem etc. mais en tout cas son art sera toujours là et c’est le principal. De toute façon, je ne pense pas que cette femme aurait vraiment aimé être dans la lumière sinon sa vie aurait été toute autre.
