- Metallica "St Anger" but its just James Hetfield going insane
Basically all the times that James sings about something related to insanity
I spent an hour of my life doing this. I regret everything.

guys i think james might be a lil angry
saint anger
he's madly in anger
Just a lil
I think he is saint anger
He never got respect
i like to call load/reload the "midlife crisis" of Metallica
but st. anger is a full on mental breakdown
I call Load/Reload the "Black Album Duplicates" of Metallica ;)
@@leolegos8358I call load/Reload load and Reload
@@professionalknobhead I call Master of Puppets, Leader of Mannequins
@@leolegos8358 Stylistically they're like, completely different from the Black Album so not sure why you'd call em that but you do you ig lol
@@diegovaldes1408 Not really.
Why would you be sorry? It's why I love St Anger.
St. Anger is one of the Metallica albums of all time, if not, the year 2003
exactly this. It is this going full insane, which makes the album to me much more enjoyable than the rehearsel-room version which is on the dvd.
This definitely was one of the James Hetfield performances of all time.
Ah I see a fellow Morbius meme admirer
When Hetfield said it St Angerin time, I lost my mind.
Give him a break he just got out of rehab when they made this album
@@dragonmasterlance123and then he just St. Angered all over everyone
@@DrSoapp Being sober definitely didn't help, yes.
This is part of why I love st. Anger. James is so unhinged on this record and it makes me want to thrash
Bro forgot James's laugh in the middle of Dirty window and the loud shouting at the bridge of All Within My Hands
I know someone else said it, but you missed out on a really great one

"It's my world, you can't have it...
SUCKER!"
(Wait, are we choosing angry ones or cringey ones, lol?)
greatest metallica lyrics of all time
@@TerribleEnglish we’re choosing the ones where james has a mental breakdown ig
That happens to me a lot
I think that one is a honestly good lyric
It is obvious this was a low point for James with the way he goes off on this album.
And to this day he still hasn't learnt that drinking causes him to sing and behave like a toddler experiencing multiple concussions
Man i love this album :)
@@mezykin I think that a part of him likes to go back to that feeling, that's what alcoholism is like
that breakdown from the unnamed feeling has to be the best vocal moment on a Metallica record
Meh
It was a pretty good emotional moment that you could tell James meant.
I love this album just because it really feels like unhinged anger
Nah they're just badly hungover
Yeah
@@mezykinBadly hungover with you!

Wow he actually sounded very angry
Hetfield reached that middle school angry kid phase... at age 30-something.
@@bakerboat4572 He was 40 when this album came out.
St.Anger is truly one of the albums of all time.
My favourite part was when he said it's "It's St. Angerin' time!" and he St. Angered all over everyone
I knew kill kill kill kill was gonna be here
me when i see my ex-wife
@@SnarlyFuturelol, beautiful
Poor James has hit his breaking point :C
James gonna need tea and honey after this
I personally think this is such a album , it has songs , the band is there and the lyrics are truly written , really a album of al times
Fun drinking game (seriously don't do this) every time james repeats a word, take a shot.
I would die halfway through St. Anger (the song)
All the shots I take, I spit back at you
Some kind of monster is about to put you in some kind of grave
You’d be on life support before Frantic ends.
I would go crazy with Lars snare too

1:40 is the first thing I think when I wake up on Mondays.
This is how I feel shopping at Wal-Mart or driving through a Kroger parking lot
This album helped me through alot.
A lot of what exactly if you don't mind sharing?
"what one youtube video can describe your current state of life?"
me: this.
Typical criticisms of St. Anger;
"snare sounds horrible"
"no guitar solos"
"songs are too long"
"bob rock"
"too many repetitive lyrics"
....
Honestly, I fucking LOVE St. Anger, from start to finish! It's a raw album with internal hostility coming from brutal honesty and a sense of revival from within that sparked a further 20 years of life to a legendary band that was literally on it's knees and about to implode. If you call yourself a Metallica fan and claim to hate St. Anger, then you're shitting on the album that practically saved the band. It was hard enough after Cliff passed away, but they were all still young enough to carry on, but they were in their early 40's during this period and they could've easily called it a day after Jason left and James' battles with addiction took over. You gotta at least respect what St. Anger stands for in the history of Metallica and appreciate that it gave them a new lease of life for at least 20 more years!
all of this is right. This album was created in known circumstancess. But this is fucking pure angry metal album. Did'nt sounds like metallica and this is mostly why people hate it. I fucking love this album. It's immortal. Since the realease this album never bored me. Always are coming back to that and it hits as strong as at the begining.
It didn't save the band, it reduced them to a joke for a while
@@mezykin It saved the band, as in the members of the band decided to stick together, due to the entire period surrounding this album - the good and the bad. If it wasn't for St. Anger, we wouldn't have had the past 20 years of Metallica. Fact.
I'm not obligated to like every album a band puts out
@@calebbean1384 You don't have to, but you have to at least respect what this album represents as a very poignant moment in history of Metallica as a band. Do you like the movie 'Some Kind Of Monster"?
My world was missing
I
DONT
EVEN

Or even the chorus
it’s MY WORLDDDDDDDDDDD NOW
TEEK TEEK TEEK TOOK
This is great!!! I never understood why people didn't like this album it is so fucking heavy it is so fucking metal and it is so raw I fucking love it. This kind of shit is exactly why Metallica started a band to begin with... angry punk rock metal fury
It's probably the most metal Metallica album
Come on, it's because the songs aren't very good and lyrics are embarrassing. I don't hate it, but trying to be objective, it's their worst album by a mile and I'd NEVER recommend it to anyone.
@@TerribleEnglish The lyrics sound embarrassing to mentally healthy people that don't realize that they are all ABSOLUTELY TRUE.
@@plasmakitten4261 No, they're just bad lyrics. They were written committee, too, so they're not all James's.
@@TerribleEnglish I'm sorry, but it's clear that you just don't get it.
That's why it is one of the best and most original metal albums ever released. Thanks for the highlights.
He is the table
0:27 that's badass tho not gonna lie
LOVE JAMES HETFIELD'S ATTITUDE! IT'S HEAVIER THAN ANYTHING ELSE! LOVE THIS BAND! LOVE ST. ANGER!👊🍻🎸🙏🔥
It’s heavy asf but panteras Phil Anselmo is a bit heavier I have to admit
@@ItsyaboiDillon Pantera > post black album Metallica
@@ItsyaboiDillon phil much like st anger era james has a lot of raw emotion and rage going into the vocals which is what makes them oddly good for me
James was definitely listening to King For A Day Fool For a Lifetime in rehab.
Can anyone tell me what the last lyrics were? Think I heard "kill" in there somewhere?
Yep. All Within My Hands has about 30 to 40 "kills"...
He’s actually saying “Quelle, quelle, quelle, quelle…?!!” Which is French for, “What, what, what, what…??!!” Closing out the record with a very pensive and inconclusive moment of reflection.
@@danielgbgibson is this true ?
@@Vermllon this is untrue! 🙂
Sono passati 20anni di questo album fatto di rabbia di un periodo passato per la band non buono!
much tone!! i like this one
At the time I found this unconvincing and unintentionally hilarious.
Wow this album realy captures raw anger really well
Anyone else think the frantic (pun intended) vocals in the chorus of Frantic are really, really cool? Just me?
This album had the attitude of a hardcore album with the execution of The Shaggs
Lmaooo
when you write an entire record while going through the DTs
One of the reasons why I think St Anger is actually good, love angry James
Pappa Het,you are not alone...❤
Part of me loved how unhinged James was on this album, but I also was like "oh shit this poor guy's going through it"
Most of this is just me roadraging

WTF IS THIS PFP 😭
tf the pfp lmao
best album
Sorry I couldn't hear James over the snare.
The terrible editing makes it even better! LMFAO! 😂😂😂
This was before he became The Table
you forgot 'I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE QUESTION IS' from My World
Literlly me while i'm listening to this album
this is why St.Anger is there best album
I was thinking about How great it is
The Album is a mixture of the trouma and pain inside and somehow there is or there are some factors which should be said.
But After all
I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT THE QUESTION IS
This is their heaviest stuff, and I love it. Deal with it
Quite literally; as far as I know, there isn't a single song on the album that goes higher than D standard tuning.
Okay I may need to re listen to this because anyone calling that snare awful can't be my friend. Sounds like Slipknot stole Agallochs snare from Limbs and hit it with a keg. Unironically we were wrong about that snare, it's everything else that stinks.
*Not Unlike The Waves
You did good my guy no ragrets \m/
This is one of the metallica songs of all time.
What do you mean, it's just James Hetfield
This definitely sounded
Why it reminds me of Serj?
I thought st anger was about James being crazy
Serious question purely cos the YT algorithm landed this vid in front of my face....
Is there anyone who discovered Metallica in 1985 (like myself) or earlier who thinks St Angry isn't a bucket of shite?
I've never heard this song before but it doesnt sound that far off from what I'd expect form metallica
Actually sounds good
WHERE'S THE AWMH SCREAM NOOOOO
Goood
😂😂😂😂, true, after his detox so maybe something to do with the anger🎉
hey hey , purify is actually a good song don't do it dirty like that
It’s the worst song on the album according to most of the community, I’d say frantic is much worse.
💯 so freaking great and I love Tallica
I bet James did this on purpose because of lars with his Bin lid snare.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
Year 2003, when korn got so big than even metallica tried to copy them. Listen to no place to hide, clown or shoots and ladders if you don't known what i mean.
I would be able to listen to this album if it didn't have that goddamn snare drum noise
y do u care
and if there were guitar solos.
_and if they actually gave a fuck._
The snare is iconic stfu
@@mezykin why does every song needs solo? It get repetitive
I think its mostly overreacting cuz that album is very strong, and honestly people would complain if they did 5 exact same sounding albums so no matter what, people won't be happy
It’s not a bad album… it’s just not their style is all
There are two types of Metallica fans
Those who hate St. Anger
And those who rightfully respect it
Lulu was way worse anyway
Somebody please give Lars a proper set of Drums ):
That's so grunge.
I was too after hearing this foolishness. He should have gone to a psychiatrist instead.
yeah he already did
bro it was 2003, psychiatry was in the dark ages. I'm all in favor of therapy today but saying anyone should have gone to therapy before abt 2014 is very oblivious of how garbage mental health care used to be. Heck, Metallica even has a song about that! (Sanitarium)
@@plasmakitten4261 Agreed. In the SKOM documentary, James described the rehab center he went to as being hell.
@@plasmakitten4261 2014 is literally the year I got out of a psyche ward. Should have waited 😂
Sounds like a SOAD song 🤣🤣
I like listening to James going insane better than I like the actual St. Anger album.
Nah but All within my hands is stuffed bro, I do not understand that song whatsoever, its disgusting imo.
No cap probably his best studio performance ever
imo, this album sounds horrible and is unlistenable aside from times you're having a mental breakdown -which is essentially what this album is lmao, metallica having a mental breakdown.
it's like a painting done when in a mental hospital. unsettling and hard to look at maybe, but understandable?
Weird to think that the best metal band has the worst metal album
The album has a cool tone, and good lyrics (yes, including All Within My Hands). Although, I would've loved to have an album like Death Magnetic with James' voice during this time. The album definitely had my 3rd most favorite vocals behind And Justice for All and obviously Black Album.
@@SnarlyFuture I think your bar for "good lyrics" is quite low, considering "Dirty Window" and "Invisible Kid" exist. As for the "cool tone," it's simply too dirty and in the words of Lars' dad "I would delete that." St Anger is not even a good nu metal album, let along a competent music package (with how many of the songs have zero hooks or memorable lines for their entire length).
@@bakerboat4572 BOOOOOOOOOOO 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
my high ass was listening to Gears of War from Megadeth and almost told you guys you were on the wrong band and album
@@bakerboat4572 i think st anger is memorable, as for reload i can't memorize the songs, i prefer st anger much more than reload
Yeah, every day that passes the more I dislike St. Anger.
Another one of the reasons St. Anger is my favorite album. Raw ass vocals. Going out of tune constantly, no effects or processing. Just pure aggression.
