Only in America! It has nothing to do with the right to bare arms but rather a sector of population who live in fear, much of which is of their own creation. People like Koresh prey on those fears, as do some of the politicians, only when the politicians do it that's legal, but not necessarily right. Waco wasn't the first of it's kind and certainly won't be last, at one stage I actually thought I was watching a movie about Charles Manson, for a while the stories, at least in this depiction, seemed indifferent. Anyways, enjoyed the film.
Phil Penningroth, who wrote the screenplay for this film, has since disowned his work after conducting a more thorough research into the events of Feb 28. Penningroth, in an essay-blog he wrote in 2001, stated he now regards his screenplay as mere propaganda for the BATF and one that unfairly demonizes the Branch-Davidians. This film was a rushed production, it was greenlit on March 1 (the day after the BATF Raid) and hurriedly shot over the next several weeks while the actual real-life Waco siege was still in progress. This allowed time for only minimal research and a script that did not possess all of the facts, given that the official reports of the event had not yet been compiled or released. NBC wanted the film to be ready to air in only 6 weeks in order to cash in on the high level of public interest in the event and also air in time for ratings-sweeps in May. The film first aired on NBC in May 1993, less than a month after the final assault on the Waco compound on April 19. By contrast, the first of the 'In the Line of Duty' TV-film franchise- 'The FBI Murders'- first aired in 1988, two years after the events that film portrayed.
All these people and families with children. God must be weeping in Heaven over things done in His name. I will never believe that God wants anyone to die with a false Messiah that stockpiles guns and promotes deviant sexual practices. Love is a wonderful thing, but I will always go with my gut over my heart every time. Don't drink the Kool Aid! And certainly don't make your kids do it!!!!!!!!! And here's the thing. I talk to God all the time. I've never heard His voice. I only believe He speaks to my heart. And I would never be worthy to lead anyone in His name.
This looks like Hollywood but from what I know about the raid on the cult at Waco it all went down pretty much as it was depicted in the movie; taking place maybe around 1980. Sad but pretty much true I’am sorry to say.
You need to know that the Davidians did NOT start the fire, it was the ATF/FBI that caused all those deaths, the ATF fired first, they had the front doors to prove that the bullets came from outside going in, then, the doors went “missing” somehow (evidence against ATF)
The name of the cult that David koresh started is the name of the Branch Davidians the Branch Davidians were also apart of The Seventh-Day Adventist Church
@@angieheitz5466 When did i say that? i said that the ATF instigated and started the shooting first, then besieged an already on-edge compound of people. They believe it was the end, and the ATF played into that. they didnt convince them otherwise.
@@angieheitz5466 not too mention the fact that during the 60ish day stand off (may not be correct on the exact amount of days im pulling from memory) the atf constantly shined spotlights on the house at night while playing the sounds of live rabbits getting unalived. you can find the tapes that were played on youtube but it was seen as an attempt to deprive the branch dividians of sleep and urge them into shooting at agents again. on top of that they would buzz the compound with lowflying helicopters that were alleged to be shooting at the compound. on top of that agents were video taped mooning the compound prior to the shoot out. all of this very shortly after the entire agency was nearly defunded for the events of ruby ridge. so please try to defend the ATF. but just know very few people are gonna agree with you
what a horrible story, what a horrible movie (and I love Tim Daly!) insanity that we continue to allow weapons of war to be legal and total insanity that there continues to be cults all over following some insane leader in the name of religion! It boggles my mind!
Aye😂😂And The people acting so stupid in this movie..How yu could let this fool talk all kinda shitt in ya Head,And then bring violence along with it..@Still thinking he is the The one..SMH...Hollywood is sumn else...Its Good movie tho
Terrific! The lead actor looked just like him.
The incompetnece of the police seems to be the reason this was a disaster.
Why can't they be this incompetent in dealing with pro-Palestine demonstrators.
ATF is not police. ATF is its own federal entity.
@@giovannicaliari8999 do people really KNOW what you mean?
All wrong! Only one was responsible for all the innocent deaths. Attorney General Janet Reno... She had the blood on her hands
Excellent movie.
No Free Lunch and Rules of Engagement has a More Correct Story

Oh!! They want to follow false prophet anyway, so be it😢😢😢's
following a prophet different from yours, doesnt constitute death.
you forgot the part where the ATF shot two dogs and then mistook it as gunfire from the compound. but oh well, the ATF did nothing wrong apparently.
Dogs are more important than people I assume?

It's called acting, it's a low budget movie with a good story.

Total propaganda.
