Finally a video with information about what happened, sick of seeing youtubers go to places, not explain the history and say "WOAH, SICK, DUDE, CRAZY"! Thanks for the insight.
The guy has a very cool and easy to listen to voice. Many people in public positions to speak have irritating voices. This guys demeanor and voice are a nature for more than this single video. I lived in San Pedro for years. I miss the old California I grew up with. The World TODAY is not at its best.

Thank you so much! We're big fans of other explorers and channels and appreciate their hard work. And we certainly hope to grow our audience. We're currently working on a special edition episode to air later this month and hope to see you again :)
That looked like it was a lot of fun to film. Hey, serious props on the graphics showing the chunk of land sliding into the ocean! That really gave the viewer an idea of the scope of the landslide. As always, a great video. Do you two have any plans to attend any expos/conventions coming up, such as Vid Con?
We weren't sure we would even be able to get in, so once we could and that pressure was off, it was a lot of fun! Drew's VFX skills are the best of the best for sure. We would love to go to a convention. Heard about a travel one in Long Beach? Thanks again for all your support!

Great episode! Your shots are beautiful, and good blending the historical with the present. Overhead shot of the Sunken City is fabulous near the end. Ooooh, that shot of Bethany sitting on the edge of the cliff made my hair stand on end! Brave girl! Thanks for another fascinating Oddity Odyssey!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I travel all over the country though. If you happen to know of anyone who does what you do, but in other places, I'd appreciate y'all pointing me towards them. Thanks!
Hi I just took a trip up there with my friend. We didn’t go down below the actual sunken city in San Pedro. The view is stunning from the Point Fermin Park. 👍😀
90s?..before fences and the park?..dude I'm in my 60s and my grandparents used to picnic there as young ppl courting...there was chain link before the steel fence too
We used to party back in the late seventies at Sunken City bring out the boombox cases of beer.. cops never mess with us and there was never a fence there..
San Pedro isn't it's own city, its city ofLos Angeles. San Pedro is L.A Unified schools, L.A.P.D and we vote for the mayor of L.A. Venice is a similar situation, not it's own city
From the distance is beautiful too! Be safe and if you find a good, clear opening to go in, give it a try :) Worse comes to worse you'll just be asked to leave...along with anyone else there haha
Wimp. You're scared you might fall? Well... You are right to be scared. The entire cliff area is notorious for people falling and... You guessed it! Hitting the rocks at terminal speed from the height of 300+ feet. I can almost guarantee an exhilarating but quick demise. And if you are still alive you'll wish you were dead from having every single bone turned into bone meal.
That's what I was gonna say haha. Just walk between the cement wall and fence, or hop the wall and swing around the edge of the fence. Easy and much quicker.
I walked along a street next to the bluff going to the high school in 1966. Later, back in 1978, I looked for that street but it was gone. I guess it caved into the ocean.
back in my day when I was young and explored this place many times there was an untrue rumor that it was caused by a tsunami... of course this was waaaay before the internet and information was a lot harder to dig up... and there were NO FENCES then! Great videos! keep up the good work!
You pump enough oil out of the ground something's gonna give. Nearby was the 1890-1930's oil boom. I'm not a geologist but I don't think some sill earthquake was the only culprit. Nearly a billion barrels of oil has been pumped out the ground nearby. That's a big cavity to fill.
Just a heads up, police are heavily cracking down on trespassers in this area! I would advise anyone to avoid the Sunken City for the time being and the foreseeable future. You can research about people's experiences getting fined for misdemeanors for trespassing. Not to mention that people have been seriously injured and even killed attempting to get in. I wanted to share this warning with you all before you consider venturing out! Go at your own risk!
I would also like to suggest to drive by 25th west to PV. Amazing ocean and sunset view, Trumps Golf, and of course Abalone Cove where you can see corals and tiny fish..
Yes Second City was caused by the city of Los Angeles they didn't catch a leaky storm water pipe and it eroded underneath where Second City is and cause the landslide. In 2004 when we had 32 inches of rain they also had another landslide that dropped about 32 ft. By the way george Peck was the Grand wizard of the Klu Klux Klan.
