I was born in Bath. When I was growing up (60's & 70's) as residents, we were allowed to swim in the Great Bath, once a year. In the 70's a girl caught meningitis from swimming in the Great Bath, and unfortunately passed away. No swimming there after that. It is a great city, but expensive. Great to see "Bog Island" again in this video. Those who lived in Bath (or went to University here) know what I am talking about. Whenever I think of Bath I think of the song "Solsbury Hill" by Peter Gabriel. "I could see the City (Bath) lights".
It takes vlogs like this one (from an honourey brit) to makes us native brits realise just what an historic and beautiful place this little island truely is, i love being English and tlove living in the uk, another good video megan 🇬🇧
Good morning, Megan! Thanks for sharing the beautiful things to do over in Bath, England 🏴 here! I would love to visit there whenever I can because of my busy life here in London, England 🏴 Have a beautiful weekend & stay safe! 👋 ❤
Charming as always. I like your travelogues as much as your explorations of British humour. You are never fazed by. minor setbacks (can't get in here, spot of rain etc.). and experience things very much in the now. Admire that.
Hi Megan. Very nice vid. 2.1/2 years ago we sold up after 45 years in London and retired to Bath. Leap in the dark as we'd only been for a couple of weekends and knew nobody here, but we felt at home in the first week and have loved it ever since. Very friendly people too. Great pubs (and I don't include the Crystal Palace!) and loads of eateries.
@@RyanKeane9 It's also a chain. The Star is great though they've just stopped doing Henry Westons leaving just Thatchers, so that's a no-no for me. I'm in the Curfew 3 times a week (it's my local), only when I'm not in The Old Green Tree (our favourite by a mile).
Being American and hearing the names of countless British towns, simply from being a music fan and seeing their names on concert bootlegs and the like, you could do videos like this any time you're in the mood to go check out another place!
When l was about 8/9 years old l lived just outside Bath and learned to swim at a Roman bath it was as l recall it was called The Blue Dolphin bath club if memory serves me it was circular ,When l went back years later it had closed due to the water not being up to modern standards. l also recall sitting outside the abbey and staring at Jacobs ladder , but this was all over 60 years ago.
All power to you for getting out and exploring the country❤. You'd be amazed at how many people who live here can't be bothered finding all the truly incredible places in the UK. Never expected to see you in the bath on RUclips 😅. Keep doing what you do Megan❤

Crystal Palace has always been too expensive. My favourite is the Star on the Paragon or the Curfew.
