This guy's music has made me who I am as a drummer. Necrophagist first then Obscura anticosmic was amazing. Got to meet Hannes in Seattle after his show. We shared a table in the bar. Really good man. My girlfriend actually spilled beer in his lap and he was totally pissed but so friendly after..... Then he explained the time signature in Stillborn One and it confirmed I was playing it correctly. Felt awesome to get confirmation form my hero. He is a world traveler and a friend in my book.
Brother I know its years and years later ... but I find these videos of you with necro to be some of the most important documentation of the metal scene at the time. As amazing as Romain and Marco were, you were the only one that had pocket and understanding of how to execute these songs. You're still one of my favorite drummers and I hope you know that we all know how much fucking ass you kick. Thanks for everything 🤘🤘

Hmm, I've just noticed kicks aren't that fast. I'm not saying as if it's something bad and drums blend in to the music really good. It's actually a talent to make it sound like as if its really fast but in fact it's not.

All due respect the latest guy Romain Goulon is way better. You may prefer Hannes's style a little more but Romain is capable of far greater speeds at the very least.
@CamerOneiric Muhammed doesn't even compare to Christian on guitar, and Stephen, Christian, and Hannes write much more musically inclined songs. Necrophagist was really just a band to show off technique; a lot the songs aren't very memorable and most people skip right to the solos. They aren't very musically complex or rich. It's been six years since the last album (Christian wrote half the solos too). In six years, the guys from Obscura have done countless projects.
i dont agree, epitaph has amazing songs like Symbiotic in Theory, Stillborn one, Epitaph, and their first album has Advanced Corpse Tumor, Fermented, To Breathe in a Casket, Intestinal Incubation, etc...
